While I would consider these 3 as Animated, in my humble opinion, I don't think they are considered Anime.

Although, I do appreciate the humor in Family Guy a lot.
I like Family Guy almost as much as Simpsons... but Simpsons is a classic. :-)

Yea, another attempt at my sarcastic humor.
How come no one has mentioned Dragonball? Is that considered lame now becuase of its popularity? I don't know much about anime but I like:

1. D-Ball Z
2. Gundam Wing
3. Thundercats

For an anime movie I really liked Macross.

Tbest, if you liked Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust, you should really check out Claymore. It was done by the same studio, Madhouse, who made VHD:Bloodlust...as well as some other well known anime, like Death Note, the Ninja Scroll movie, and Chobits. The story is really good and so is the action. Although the manga is better since the anime stops only like 1/2 way through the story and even changes the story a bit. Guess they did that so it would have more closure.

Yotevol...if you don't keep up w/ the current manga or anything, Naruto gets really really good later. Especially where it's currently at. It gets a lot deeper and darker as it goes on...it's not as childish as some ppl think it is. The only problem w/ the anime is it has way too many fillers that have nothing to do w/ the story. I recommend reading the manga. =)

Thundercats! Wow! I remember that from growing up!
A lot of people don't realize that it was the first anime from Japan released in the US- if I recall correctly.

Otherwise- THUNDERCATS- HOOOOOOOO!

I think Transformers predates Thundercats by a little bit, but I'm sure someone will find something that predates that.

Transformers was released in Japan first, right? Or was that produced there to be released here? Or am I just totally wrong altogether?

At any rate, Cheetara was hawt :)

EDIT: Totally forgot about Voltron, that predates them both. Ok people, what was before Voltron? ^^

1. DIGIMON--NOT just a kids' anime! :P It has some pretty good moral values, albeit nothing abstract or complicated. I did watch it as a kid, so the nostalgia factor also kicks it up to 1st place. Oh, and only the first season. The others were sorta... meh. Kinda liked Season 4. ^^;
2. Neon Genesis Evangelion-yay emo Shinji D:
3. Cowboy Bebop

You may be right. But, what I do remember is that Transformers and Voltron didn't apply, because they weren't in the US when Thundercats was released in the US. They were released shortly thereafter, but I will research it! :-)

"The ThunderCats line was based on the animated series which was actually created in 1982. Due to difficulties, it wouldn't air until 1985."- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thundercats

"Voltron hit American airwaves in [September] 1984"- http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2002-03-14

"[Transformers] was animated by Japan's famous Toei Animation studio.[citation needed], and it first aired in the United States in September 1984, then in the United Kingdom in early 1985."- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Transformers_(TV_series)

I was close, but as you can see, I was mistaken. Both Transformers and Voltron were released prior to Thundercats. I would have been right if it wasn't for the whole, "Due to difficulties..." thing. LOL

my 3 favorites... Bubblegum Crisis (the original 1980s 8 part series), Dragonball/Dragonball Z, and Gundam SEED.

3 best productions though...
Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis, and Rurouni Kenshin (TV + OAV)

best comedy?
Urusei Yatsura, Slayers, Ranma 1/2

plenty of greats though...
escaflowne, tenchi, great teacher onizuka, .hack//SIGN, Gundam W, ***, Lodoss War, Trigun, Bleach, Naruto... and more than a handful of movies like Vampire Hunter D, Mononoke Hime, Spriggan, Akira, ...

lol, then again... Anime is the only thing I really like over FFXI!

Astro Boy (known in Japan as Shin Tetsuwan Atomu)is the first Japanese television series that embodied the aesthetic that later became familiarized as anime. It aired in Japan from 1963-66 and was relased in the US in the mid 80's. There is scheduled to be a movie based on the on the original manga series to release in October of this year.

Say what you want, but i actually enjoy the show. Its fillers can be a lil annoying at times, but in general the show is great. What I really enjoy is the manga though. Its gotta really interesting and i just cant wait till the next one comes out.

Yus, Claymore is THAT badass. Like most if not all animes, I recommend seeing the Japanese dub.
