While we are all doing what we can to keep Vanadiel safe against those hordes of beastmen, Dodik is just a plant seeding discord for yagudo’s cause…

Good grief. I went away from the forms for two days and come back after the weekend and I have no idea how the discussion went where it did while I was gone.

Makes one long for the days of "new HTBF body doesn't totally replace empy +3 on multiple jobs, devs are retards who don't know their own game" in the long long ago, in the before times.

IDK how many times I have to repeat this to you, but I'll try it one more time then give up because you're clearly not arguing in good faith and not reading anything I say.
Quote: 3rd party programs, by definition, are programs made and distributed by an individual other than SQUARE ENIX, that impact gameplay in any way. Usage of any of these types of programs, regardless of if they give the player an unfair advantage over others or not, is strictly prohibited.
OK, let's try READING this sentence instead of just skipping to the parts we want and quoting those.
Here's the definition of 3rd party programs:
Programs
made and distributed by an individual other than SE
That impact gameplay in any way
Usage of...
The second part is incredibly important because is excludes things like launching a Calculator on your desktop while playing FFXI, because Calculators don't impact gameplay in any way.
Now, would you like to answer the question I've already posed to you, which you ignored?
HOW DOES WINDOWER IMPACT FFXI GAMEPLAY?

No we tried that discussion here, and it was met with "OMG YOU VETERANS ALWAYS WANT GEAR CATERED TO YOU THIS IS FOR NEW PLAYERS!!!" Then the reported drop rate was trash, so we quickly dropped that. Don't worry, this thread will soon end up shitting on Limbus very soon.
We should be arguing about how terribly SE has been dropping the ball with these gear updates instead of discussions from over two decades ago about windower/vanilla use. That's the real problem lately

The better question is how does anything that was said over the last four pages or so have anything to do with the version update. I’m with Buukki here. If we’ve run out of stuff to talk about after the update (which to be fair wasn’t that much of an update) then it might be time to let the thread fall off. This discussion is going downhill fast.

Just checking in to remind you that I started this by pointing out that the people responsible for the maintenance and development of this game do not care to do anything but the bare minimum to extract your subscription fees and you all took that as an invitation to spend 3 pages arguing about everything except that
Not that anyone cares, but my position is that everyone should cheat as much as they want to because there is nothing on the horizon for which cheating would create an unfair advantage, and I, for one, cannot imagine having so little self-respect as to meet this game's status quo on its own terms. Oh, this guy's speedhacking around Sortie! How dare he exploit in some ***that came out four years ago!

To be clear, I never said ***about using GS, anchor, craft bots, flee hacks, or any of that crap. I couldn't give a rat's *** if you want to play the game by modding it into an unrecognizable mess.
I said 6-botting is a cancer on the community. It is.
Then a bunch of people came in pretending that their bots aren't bots. You know I'm allergic to lies and ***, stop posting it if you don't want me to slap that ***down.
I also didn't bring MY gameplay style into this conversation, that was brought up by other ***. I don't hold anyone to my standards or expect anyone else to follow my lead. If someone asks me a question about how I play, I answer it. If you don't want to hear about it, stop asking the *** questions.

Joke's on you, I 12 box.
One party of 6 cancels out the other.
It's like a double negative.
Checkmate, atheists.
Also, Richy shitposting aside, I sometimes dual box my wife's character. Yes, alt-tabbing. Yes, I'm *** terrible at it.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

So back to the version update
Nobody has made a new HTBF thread. Is the fight that forgettable that we're not even interested in discussing it in detail? Are we so upset with the quality of drops that we forgot about this fight not even a full week into the update? Because if so, that's incredibly sad.

It's probably the most useless HTMB ever (at time of release)
I mean the ammo is neat, bye bye hasty pinion, but everything else is yikes
Not any strategy per say either. It's just a generic *** zerg with weak adds. And Terribad drop rates for trash drops.

I joined a pickup VD group for it. Didn't have a key item ahead of time so I only did 2 runs. I mainly just wanted the title. Just like the original it's a full zerg fight, but melee zerg works just as well as anything else. Drk, sam, war, w/e tears through the crystal. Ignore the adds (they don't spawn copies of your characters anymore, it's just generic seed yagudo, seed orc, seed quadav, or w/e). Fight was over in less than a minute and we got the WSD ammo on both kills. I didn't lot because I'm not wasting my inventory space on something I'll never have the set bonus for.
Weapons and ammo are miserable drop rates. It was neat to reminisce the music track for the fight though. Brings back memories. I probably won't ever be going back. Yes, it really is that forgettable.

Regardless of the set bonus, 5% haste on the ammo slot has "uses".

Yes, but I have alabaster earring maxed out. It’s fine for people that need the haste. But I didn’t, so I skipped. The accessory versus non accessory drop rate is the same as shinryu, so if I ever want one in the future it’ll be trivial to get.

I can't recall a single HTBF that's had this little buzz at release. What a complete joke.

Sad to read about groups not wanting to try things. Sometimes it just takes one or two people to step up and lead, but not many want to take on that responsibility. I've spent most of my time in FFXI leading events because I'm not about to sit around waiting for someone else to do it. I've been doing it for over 20 years and still don't think I'm particularly good at it, but other people remind me of everything we've accomplished that probably wouldn't have happened if I hadn't kept trying every week.
It can be intimidating to lead and risk failing, but every attempt teaches you something. I've always felt the hardest part of running any event is getting everything organised and making sure everyone understands their role. There's pressure in remembering all the little details while trying to keep things moving, especially when someone is asking, "Are we starting yet?" Even so, it's incredibly rewarding when everything comes together.
I hate losing. Anyone who runs with me knows that. I might get a little grumpy, but I'll never yell at people or quit. We figure out what went wrong and try not to make the same mistake twice. Sometimes, though, you just have to accept that your group isn't quite ready yet, whether that's because of gear, jobs, experience, or party composition. That's okay. Come back another day and try again.
The next time someone asks if people want to do something, consider stepping up. Ask who needs it, what jobs people can bring, whether anyone has done it before, and what strategy works best. Figure out who can heal, who can deal the most damage, and whether you have the support jobs you need. If you don't, can you make up for it another way? There's almost always a solution. You just learn to adapt as you gain experience, and that learning never really stops.
I enjoy seeing returning players organise groups and give things a shot. I'm always happy to share advice if they ask, but sometimes I don't want to simply carry them through it. We all struggled at some point, and some of the biggest lessons come from the fights that don't go according to plan.

Does sleep or petrify hit the adds? Are the drops already available from trove?

Are the drops already available from trove?
This will happen in the August 2028 update to trove, when they add a tier below 'noise' for drops this bad.

Weapons and ammo are miserable drop rates.
Any indications that killing them adds a drop slot like Lilith did/does?

What I find funny is, Cloud and Shinryu were throttled with a 30 merit entry fee... to quell the masses from entering all at once and causing congestion/lines at the BCNM entrance.
With how poor the rewards are for this new HTMB... no one's going, let alone lining up, and yet still the cost is 30 merits?
Seems counterintuitive

To be clear, the 30 merit cost *is* the anti-congestion measure - it has nothing to do with the value of the HTMB.

This is correct. Comically, the drops are sufficient congestion alleviation.
