I lost my enthusiasm for this show..and I kind of blame it on my various other current interests that Im fangirling over.
The best characters were Tenzin, Chief Beifong, Bolin and Amon...also the action was superb.
The whole Korra/Mako thing was so forced..and Asami was bland with a bland voice actor and waaay too Goodytwoshoes..the declaration of love was enough to make me fandom vomit. The character interaction was just bad.
I love the Amon twist though.
I get its a kids show but if I was an evil bloodbender Id be breaking some necks. I love how the idea of bloodbending could be so brutal.
hopefully Amon isn't really dead (though I love the way he went out!) because the Korra crew is going to be at comiccon!
really my only complaints are the Korra/Mako/whatshername triangle..it was nasty.
Also, oh Iroh..I wish we'd gotten to see more of you.
edit for more thoughts on Amon..though I like the twist I did have a minor complaint.. I like the fact that Amon was a waterbender who wanted people to be evil and that bending is the root of all evil..I do not think that his past was bad enough to make him be evil though..I felt something was missing from that storyline to make him take stuff out on innocents. Same with Tarlok...both seemed like good kids..seems about as random to turn evil as it was for Anakin to suddenly go crazy in starwars.
however, I bet there will be a good fanfiction writer out there somewhere who will make it 100% better and fill in the little writing gaps. yes..I will search for this.
Also..Korra still would have been better with Amon than she would have Mako..she would have been better with Tenzin or Iroh or Bolin..anything better than Mako..if only the writing had been better.

I can't wait for the second season....truthfully up until the last few episodes this series had been a huge let down and I'm a huge fan of this series....but holy crap did they pull through in the end. I just hope they get the rights for more seasons after the second....I was excited for Bhumi (SP) and I still want to see the third son of Aang...

I dunno, I thought his back story could've been so much more interesting.
I really wanted it to end up being something unexpected, but something that still makes you go "Oh, it all makes sense now!" because of previous connections you couldn't complete until the end. They just kinda pulled this out of their ***, but it was still a sad story I guess.
Maybe I'm just expecting too much from a kids a show on Nickelodeon.

I think I remember that Katara mentioned her children as Tenzin, Bhumi, and Kaiya (the name of her mother)
So a sister to Tenzin and Bhumi.
Also, I'm going to look for confirmation but I think I remember reading somewhere that they did pick up this series for two more seasons. Kinda like they had 3 seasons for the original.

Holy crap the season finale was awesome! I'm officially looking forward to the next seasons. Now if only like oh I don't know Peter Jackson would pick up the rest of the books from the original series and make a movie worth while.

You're right, even better! A sister! I wonder what type of Bender Bhumi is...
I know that season 2 is 100% bought and paid for and is now in production for April 2013 (Most likely). I'm really hoping for season 3.

Well that's just a speculation that TV shows have been trending along these days, especially 12 episode seasons.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that she just received her bending back on a whim. Like, she conceded entirely and it was just handed back to her. Disappointing, especially when you consider that only three avatars previous, Kyoshi developed a form of martial arts to use in combat that doesn't rely on bending at all.
They wrapped up a lot of ***far too fast with cop-outs and Korra is just too whiny. That said, I guess I enjoyed it as a whole.

I agree that I was a little disappointed when she got her bending back too, it could have been a good introduction into relearning the elements somehow. I think it just ended that way because at the time they were unsure if they'd get the rights for a second season right away. I was still pleased though, it was a happy ending.

The main reason I was "pleased" with the ending is because Lin is probably my favorite character and I was thrilled to see her get her bending back.

It made sense that Korra got her bending back due to her being the
Avatar. The Avatar is the only person who can energy bend (allowing
someone to take and give back bending). Energy bending is like "The
One magic" from Fairy tail, all the other bending came from it, it's
just that the Avatar is able to readily use it (maybe b/c he/she can
use all bending or every bender can use it but doesn't know it).
Amon was using blood bending to take away bending by probably
permanently blocking a benders chi, or maybe Amon blocked a part of
the brain that allowed bending of the nature the person knows and
since Kora didn't know how to air bend... it helped her out! I
thought Katara should have been able to blood bend people back to
normal or maybe wasn't told that blend bending took her bending.
Love the show!!!!!!!

Totally agree with you, I made a comment elsewhere discussing Amons blood bending and how he was able to take away bending. I'm guessing he's blocking a chakra point in the body or blocking their chi somehow through the blood bending. Several people were also commenting on Korra's air bending and why it wasn't taken from her, I'm guessing because she wasn't really proficient in air bending perhaps that protected her, after all how can he take something away from you that you don't know how to do in the first place.
The one complaint that I have is the how short the seasons are compared to the original series. I got spoiled by the various side missions and all the other stuff that would go on during the main "quest." Overall I'm liking it now. Oh and there was an interview with the creators in which they said each season will have its own villain, and the story will branch out and be a mix of Republic City and the rest of the world.

I was screaming "noooooooo don't take their bending away!! airbending is my favorite!" Then again, it wouldn't erase future airbenders since bending is suppose to be genetic xD

My theory was more of a biological theory, Amon was able to severe parts of the brain that could comprehend how bending actually worked by stopping blood flow or something? Haha I don't know.
Korra couldn't lose what she didn't have in the first place....maybe when Amon was messing with her mind he accidentally triggered the missing link in her brain.

My theory on who Amon was was this...
Amon is actually Aang's third son who couldn't bend. Due to that, he
gained a hatred for benders and begged Aang to get him in contact
with the spirit world so the spirits can teach him how to Energy
bend. Aang tought him how to contact the spirits and Amon later
learned the secret behind being immune to bloodbending by having
the "Mind over matter" mentality. Once he broke ties with Aang and
his brothers, he started the Equalists.

I loved the whole series, it was nice to see the cast start off slightly older, meant love ***was bound to happen. The jokes were great and the characters were even better. >_> @ Zuko's voice's characters getting burns all the time.
What an epic way to get rid of the bad guy, although his tears might've suggested that he planned for it to happen and accepted his fate. As for Tarlock, yeh he had to go too, can't have another Yakone, would be boring.
So are Mako and Asami broken up? Will that happen between seasons? Will he cheat on her for a couple of months or whatever is the gap between seasons, then break up on episode 1? God, you guys are right this triangle is icky...

I have to admit... I thought Tenzin's first son was "special" but when i saw him fight, i'm like "this boy is a prodigy!!!".

I've waited so long for this show to arrive :o!!! I LOVED Avatar: The Last Airbender (not the movie, oh god what did they do...) and from the first two episodes I watched it seems to be a very well done sequel.
The first season/book is Air, which is perfect because the main character Korra is the complete opposite of Aang and is proficient in water. She also knows how to use fire and earth but struggles to understand how air even works. I love the character in this sequel, she is the complete opposite of Aang in every way really, and I look forward to watching more of it!
The Legend of Korra premiers on April 14th, and will have a total of 26 episodes. Book one will have a total of 12 episodes while book two will have a total of 14. You can watch the two premier episodes early if you really want to ... ... ... ... ... but otherwise they will both premier on April 14th.
ABOUT LEGEND OF KORRA
Republic City is everything that Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko fought for when they ended the Hundred Year War. With balance restored to the four nations, benders and non-benders can live together in peace, in this thriving metropolitan area. But even the steampunk paradise of Republic City has its problems, as the next Avatar discovers. When Avatar Korra arrives in Republic City to master her airbending, she comes face to face with criminal bending gangs as well as members of a vocal anti-bending revolution. Before long, Korra's Avatar skills are put to the test when she encounters a group of Chi-blockers led by the charismatic and mysterious Amon, who threatens the city and all the benders in it. Despite the immense danger, Korra vows to fight the growing anti-bending revolution. But will she be able to stop Amon before he rises to power and makes his vision of a bending-free world a reality?
 | KORRA / AVATAR
Korra couldn't have less in common with Aang, the previous Avatar. A 17-year-old girl from the Southern Water Tribe, she is as hot-headed and eager as she is talented. When she runs away to Republic City, her stubbornness and impatience get in the way of her bending studies, but it is clear from the start that she is destined for greatness. Korra discovers many new things in Republic City - some amazing and some terrifying. Whether its honing her bending skills in the Pro-bending Arena, facing off with street thugs or facing an anti-bending rebellion, Korra learns that being the Avatar comes with many dangers and responsibilities. As if being a teenager wasn't hard enough on its own! |
 | MAKO / FIREBENDER
A Firebender with a serious side, the handsome and brooding Mako has always taken care of his little brother, Bolin. Growing up on the streets has given him a hard edge, but Mako loves his brother and will do anything to protect them both. Intensely focused on getting their team through the Pro-bending tournament and winning the jackpot, Mako's tightly controlled world gets a little more chaotic when Korra enters the picture. |
 | BOLIN / EARTHBENDER
No matter how intense things get around Republic City (and they do get intense), Bolin is always good for a laugh. Mako's younger brother and Pro-bending teammate, Bolin tends to be more laidback and likes to have a good time. Despite their tough childhood, Bolin always has a smile on his face and a lady on his arm. In fact, it was Bolin who was responsible for introducing Mako to Korra. But Bolin is no clown. When the time comes to buckle down and bend some earth, this tough contender can handle his business. |
 | TENZIN / AIRBENDER
Tenzin and his wife Pema raise their two daughters, Jinora and Ikki, and son Meelo, on Air Temple Island. As Avatar Aang's son and an Airbender, Tenzin carries a great responsibility on his shoulders to continue the dream of his father to protect not only the next Avatar, but also Republic City. Generally very serious and calm, Tenzin's serene life on Air Temple Island is rocked when the impetuous Korra moves into his home to continue her airbending training. As Korra's teacher, Tenzin finds his patience tested time and again but he also realizes that while she has a lot to learn from him, he also has something to learn from her. |
 | CHIEF LIN BEIFONG
Her mother Toph taught Avatar Aang how to earthbend, but Chief Lin Beifong doesn't feel any special affection for the new Avatar. In fact, this metal and earthbending police chief sees Korra's arrival as the biggest threat Republic City has faced in recent times. Korra's reckless ways are constantly leaving Lin Beifong's streets in ruin, and this chief is determined to push the Avatar out of her city. |
 | AMON
Little is known about the mysterious leader of the anti-bending revolution. He wears a mask to conceal his face. He is a nimble, stealthy fighter who shows no fear even against the highest-level bender. His ultimate goal is to rid the world of bending. |
 | NAGA
Korra's polar bear-dog is her loyal companion and main mode of transportation. Historically, this creature was feared and hunted by members of the Water Tribe. Korra is the only person ever to have tamed one. Naga is very protective of Korra, and has learned how to use her strength to help Korra out of perilous situations. |
 | PABU
Bolin found this cute fire ferret scrounging for food on the street and rescued him. He's a mischievous little fellow, always getting into things he shouldn't. But Pabu has gotten Bolin out of plenty of sticky situations with his agility and sharp teeth, and more often, he's been Bolin's partner in crime while playing practical jokes on Mako. |
