Damnit, I just might have to watch Andor now... I'm seeing way too many people say it's really good. Last thing I watched I think was Boba Fett or Solo... I haven't liked anything Star Wars since Rogue One.
The bar is really low on Star Wars content. Outside the old EU, the prequels were terrible, the sequels were worse, Solo was..not as bad as I was told but not great, and most of the modern games were mid or meh. I'm convinced most people wouldn't give a ***about Mando if it wasn't for Grogu, because it's very fetch-questy and wears out its welcome very fast. I didn't watch Skeleton Crew, Ashoka, or Bad Batch - I hear kinda meh things about all of them. I was told Acolyte was terrible by several folks so again, I didn't bother with it
So I don't blame you for not wanting to mess with it, a lot of folks missed S1 because it came out during peak Star Wars fatigue and a lot of other folks missed Rogue One and were not really aware of the characters. That said, it's some of the best SW content there is and I'd argue it's just a good show in general, people I know who dgaf about SW walked away liking it and finding it very good. AFAIK most of the crew didn't know ***about Star Wars and that was by design, so they wrote a largely good story that just takes place in the Star Wars universe rather than trying to make it super Star Warsy.
There are things you can nitpick about it, but I largely thought it was well written, very well acted, and well produced compared even to non-Star Wars shows/content.
