IE, the exact opposite of Five Guys. I was impressed with their blueberry w/e white truffle cheesecake after trying it but none of their actual food was worth trying again so far. Anything stand out for your family?

I went to a Cheesecake Factory once, I was not impressed.
Then again, I live in South Texas, where food quality is much higher than other parts of the nation...

As someone who grew up Midwest, I feel I can confidently say that restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, and Outback are completely geared towards overweight midwesterners who think that giant portions are a must and that if there isn't cheese on something, there should be.
Fake "fancy" food for people who don't care to know better, or who want to feel fancy eating what is still normal to them.

The plus-side to something like the Olive Garden is that pasta is amazing as leftovers. Spend $25 (or whatever) for a meal and load up on all-you-can-eat breadsticks, soup, and salad included with the meal, and then bring your ridiculously oversized portions home and split it into two meals.
After that you'll have had 3 meals of food, and you didn't even have to cook it! Broken down, $8 per meal isn't bad. At least given the inflated Canadian dollar. That'd be I guess like $7 USD.
EDIT: The real kicker is when you go to a place that serves, say, breakfast food. Or steak or something. Stuff that doesn't taste as good the next day. In that case, I'll usually try to order a little bit more than half a plate per person. I used to go to this one breakfast place where every plate was about $18, but was way too much for one person to eat. But if there were 3 of us, we'd order 2 plates, meaning the meal would only cost each person about $12 (or about $9 USD).

I did used to think like that- then I realized how much damn salt was in all that crap. It does microwave up better than Italian food should, in particular at 2am stoned.

Oh yeah. It's not healthy to indulge in that too often. I just use that kind of math to justify it in my own head. My entire world revolves around math so it bugs me lol

As if each town across the planet didn’t have the exact same high-effort small business owners bringing hq local ingredient eats to their area

Nearest Olive Garden was 500 miles from my North Pole home growing up so I only got it like twice a decade lol

I mean, there are a few dishes that don't have some sort of cheese on them....

It's not our fault that the standards of cooking is so much lower, but then again, everything is ***-expensive there that you probably can't afford anything higher than Grade B food and ingredients.

Considering the Oil Refinery, Chemical Plant, and other heavy industry factories from as far back as the 30's in my hometown (Lima, OH- look it up....classic Rust Belt town in the Midwest)- locally sourced food isn't something I look back on fondly.
I ***you not as a 9 year old I fished up a two headed bass.

I have had fancy food, it's not all that jazz. I don't want to spend $40+ a plate on smaller portions though. Some places in downtown San Antonio are bad about that... I've tried "top-tier" food before. I've been invited to dine at the two fanciest restaurants in my hometown. One was completely a la carte, and even after spending almost $200 per person, we went out for ice cream afterwards because we were hungry. It wasn't even that good. Like 4-out-of-10, I'd sooner order from the Chinese restaurant down the street that's "definitely not a front for something else".

In fairness, it's just bastardized Mexican food. I have been to Texas (Just north of Galveston) and eaten at various places that the people I was there with raved about... It's not any better than we have in Denver. I do admit that I am spoiled as we have a huge Mexican / Peruvian community and lots of friends from Mexico, so I think I may have become somewhat of a snob pertaining to texmex.

Depends on the region actually.
I prefer American-style "Tex-Mex", not the southern Mexico version.

The pasta dishes, for sure. Their burgers are good too, the tons of fun burger is 11.95 for a double meat burger, so its great value. I was skeptical going in, but its been a good ride.

Yeah, I definitely feel that Colorado's Tex-Mex has a stronger Southwestern influence- sidenote those who haven't had Green Chili haven't lived.

Are nodes just suppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppper laggy or is it me. It's impossible to do this when it keeps freezing up every minute.
Everything else working golden, but the node page is constantly seizing.

Everything else working golden, but the node page is constantly seizing. The node editor runs locally in javascript, as opposed to the other editors which are all form based. It's more noticeable on lower-powered hardware.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
