So Sam/Blitz does not have the same effect as haste regarding damage output? None of my questions are directed at spell casting reduction. Can use Caster's Roll for that.
No.

The fact that -delay is calculated separate from haste does make a difference in damage output. That's exactly the point, and what we have been saying...

Just as Nightfyre stated earlier, doing simple math...you can find that: if we add 10% haste to 70% haste, to go from 70% to 80% haste... that is an increase of ~50% in damage, whereas if we add -10% weapon delay, you have to calculate that first and separate from haste. Therefore, the -10% delay is only giving you ~11% increase in DPS.

So, no. Sam/blitz doesn't have the same effect as haste regarding damage output.

On top of that, you're sacrificing 2 Cor rolls, and you need to depend on the storeTP that you may get with sam roll to try to make it so that the -delay doesn't mess with your X-hit build... doesn't sound as efficient as a combo such as chaos/fighter rolls, giving you more attack and double attack, for TP and WS.

Adding 10% haste when you're at 70% haste is a ~50% increase in damage.

Not that much actually since it was figured that any Job ability like a WS gives a fixed 120 delay or 2 seconds. The higher the haste, the more frequent WS is, and the 2 sec delay is hurting you a lot especially if you are a WS heavy job. It would be correct if you didn't use a WS.

Exemple :

Take a 5-hit SAM with 480 delay.
hit > hit > hit > hit > ws > 2 second pause > repeat.

Let say it takes you 0.5 seconds to hit ws macro after your last hit (reflex and time for macro to register). The order is :

hit > delay > hit > delay > hit > delay > hit > 0.5 sec > ws > 2 second delay

*with 70% haste it takes therefore 480*(1-0.7)*3+60+120=612 delay or 10.2 second for one WS phase.
*with 80% haste it takes therefore 480*(1-0.8)*3+60+120=468 delay or 7.8 seconds for on WS phase

So the damage boost from 10% haste would be 612/468= +30% only.

Note : even if your reflex are perfect it would be 35%.
