Likely noticeable in stuff like Ambu now that Bout is running, it was always bad on Asura around the clock.
By iamaman on 2025-07-22 06:55:09
I haven't been doing instanced content at peak hours enough to know, but has congestion gotten bad again in Odyssey/Sortie/Omen/etc? or is their definition of congestion # of characters on the server?

No one? Really? Fine. I'll be the one to start the meme train.

Dont you have to go into the grass to find the grass type pokemon?

Stop using logic against me! It’s my one weakness!

I know we have a lot of multiboxers here. I've been having a strange issue with my controller ever since I change my monitor, which makes zero sense... but that's the only thing that changed.

I use a PS5 controller via bluetooth. My button presses are extremely delayed or ignored completely randomly. The more strange part is my analog sticks and d pad are not affected by this. So I can be running around 100% normal, but the second I try to menu, talk to a npc, open a macro, ect, the button input is either delayed by some random amount between 0-3 seconds or it never registers the input. This seems to be reset by alt-tabing over to another character and pressing a few buttons, then going back to whatever instance I was on and it works fine for a few moments. This seems to affect my alts more than my main char, but maybe that has to do with the order I open my FFXI instances?

Anybody else experience anything like this before? I have absolutely no clue what could be doing this.

I assume the HQ supply on backwater servers will start drying up. Asura is pretty reliably the lowest price for HQs so I bet there is a lot of buying there and hopping elsewhere that is going to stop when it becomes a one way trip.
All made with duped items and cheating to avoid breaks anyway
By Jakey on 2025-07-22 05:46:48
Ya there's a lot of arbitrage going both ways. Raw materials brought to asura to sell for higher prices and the hq crafted items bought cheap to come back. Much of that will move to bahamut presumably. So expect asura and bahamut economies to have biggest adjustments.

There's absolutely no need for 16 servers. Drop it to 12 and merge the lowest 4 into the next lowest 4. Allow free movement from Asura for 1 month or two.

Wonder if it was an early glitch? Has anyone got 5k recently?
By K123 on 2025-07-22 04:44:55
If anything it's because every other *** has 6 accounts. The number of armies of bots running around and porting together has increased massively - not RMT but geared real players. SE designed this into the game now it suffers because of it.

Good luck with that.

Very interesting they taking directed measures toward a single world, but makes sense: afterall, having to implement fixes game-wise only to help Assura problems has a higher cost than simply dealing with the (rotten) place itself.
By Vannseraph on 2025-07-22 01:23:25
yeah I too got some 5k's early on but then never again.
By Vannseraph on 2025-07-22 01:21:44
I definitely was able to get two ??? around 24 hours apart in more quick succession, there was a monthly maintenance in between though so that is probably just a special case.

RIP Tourism

I don't think this would have been too difficult. They could just restrict outgoing transfers away from Asura to only the bottom half of servers by population. Not really sure why it wasn't like this ages ago.

Everyone will flee asura for bahamut. There will be no going back to not buying everything, only a change in venue.

Prepare your anus Bahamut people.

https://www.ffxiah.com/database

baha is only 4k active people behind asura, not really much room for refugees

They aren't smart enough to per-emptively stop it from happening so there's all the room required.

Praise to Altana that Bahamut makes it though this with its mental health in tact.

So they're stopping new characters from being created or transferred on/to Asura, because it's TOO crowded, and in 2025? lmao

Quote:
Since there is a possibility that similar issues may arise on other overly crowded Worlds, we are also considering other potential measures that will help equalize the populations across Worlds.

Interested in seeing what they're considering

Clearly they should give accounts on Asura free server transfers for a few months to try out other servers

Would this be a good time to suggest a universal AH across all servers to even out the AH from being a factor perhaps?
By Sylvebits on 2025-07-21 23:31:40

Next measure: no one may leave Asura.

I hope this is paired with bans to cut down the number of RMT on Asura.

It likely will, as well, new ones will be not be able to spring up.

The era of manual labour has arrived in Asura. Godspeed :S.
