So there were a lot of things we weren't doing for our MNK SAM Aminon fights that we fixed to significantly cut down our kill time.
- I assumed we weren't benefiting from Aria on Aminon without Box Steps so I wasn't using Aria, but turns out we are, so we increased our damage by replacing Minuet 3 with Aria.
- We used to use Bolster on F boss for extra safety, but decided it's probably unnecessary to do that and now we use Bolster on Aminon instead to get full benefit of SV Aria.
- We weren't using Impact before since I figured the stats down wouldn't last very long, but I was told it does, so now we include that into our fights.
- Taking the mentioned fixes into account, I no longer need more than 2 Chi Blasts (on normal mode Aminon; we haven't fought Hard Mode with these changes yet), so I now use RD/WC to focus on resetting the SAM's Meditate moreso than my Chi Blasts.
With the above additions, we're now able to kill Aminon in under 3 mins with a bit of luck and optimization on my part. This can be pushed even further if you have things that we don't such as: 3 separate players for the MNK BRD COR so all 3 jobs are playing optimally and a GEO that wants to break out the club to contribute damage.
Here's an example of one of our updated fights. 3:04 kill with no 5 or 6 WC to reset SAM's 1 hours and I also forgot to do RD after WC to get the SAM another Meditate. It also shows that even though I messed up Absorbs a couple times during the fight, we didn't get any TP moves off, displaying how TP feed isn't that strict with this setup like some people might think.

I think one of the biggest factors that will determine how amazing the sworn set will be will be the enspell damage effect. Whether it's a percentage increase or a flat increase makes a huge difference, and I don't think anyone has reported on how it works yet (have they?)
I mean, if we look at the item we can clearly see it says enspell damage+8 (depending on piece). If they wanted to give enspell+8%, it would say enspell+8%. We have lots of examples of these from other gear in the game.
and while the quad attack it has is really nice... there's no STP on it. [rant on] This is the samurai set ffs. Why is there no STP?!?! It looks ... fine I guess, but compared to the first 3 it's not nearly as enticing. Seriously, where the hell is the STP!!! [/rant off].
I mean, when you have shitloads of STP (like, for example, SAM), getting multi-attack, especially quad attack, gains more value. I think QA is the best possible stat they could hope for. If I had a choice of any of the sets to equip on SAM, it would almost certainly be the Clemency set. Possibly Trust because it's a bit safer, but I think in terms of TP rate, QA+6% is miles better than TA+8%, for example.

It looks to just be forcing it to a value and letting FFXI's engine take care of it. I think its the number of mipmaps to generate and not a LOD bias. DXVK lets me play with some of the settings but I can get it stable if I don't enable Supersampling and mipmapping at 2 or less on a 1440p resolution. I'm also seeing if reshade might also be interfering.

yeah, I committed my Nyame set to pup as the other jobs had much better options. This may free up my Nyame for once, I am excited~!

I'm guessing they dont want the DNC to become a tank.
They may have foreseen that coming. Imho a weird decission. Why can this game only have 1-3 viable jobs qualifying for the most necessary positions like tank, heal and support but double digit amount of damage dealers which the meta can only fit 1 per party.
On a side note, does Sword enhancement spell damage do anything for sambas?

If you're fighting something like sortie botulus where you want to evade the charm then malignance might still be worth wearing together with aproriate accessories.
With newer content added I'm skeptical whether malignance provides enough meva for a meaningfull evasion rate. Tbh I still eat debuffs quite frequently in legacy content even with malignance.
My guess is these sets will be the new default melee sets and malignance will be niche choice for particularly nasty debuffs.

The fact that it has multi attack coupled with STP (and SB) should make it more powerful than malignance because of how well the stats synergize with each other.

I mean...you can just put the stats side-by-side and find the answer to this. What kind of question is this?
Here's the short version, including DPS stats, meva, mdb, HP, DT:
Head: DA+5, SB+5, TA+4%, HP+74, STP-1, meva-8, DT+1
Body: DA+7%, SB+7, TA+5%, HP+73, MDB+1, STP-3, meva-13, DT+2
Hands: DA+3%, SB+3, TA+3%, HP+50, MDB+1, STP-6, meva-12, DT+2
Legs: DA+6%, SB+6, TA+4%, HP+85, MDB+1, STP-3, meva-19, DT+1
Feet: DA+4%, SB+4, TA+3%, HP+62, MDB+3, STP-3, meva-19
New set has more acc and attack, not sure how relevant that will be.

Can you confirm your data is all single hits, what job and subjob you were on, your DEX/MND, what base dmg your Caliburnus has and any WSD%+ gear or pdl+ gear you had? Also, what were you fighting?
From Ahlen's Imperator data I see fTP of 13.81. It fits fairly well but I am not sure what base dmg he had or if 70% are the currently accepted %'s. Can you take a look below at the values I am using and give me your thoughts?

You can HQ2 and also skillup, up to 70, on the new recipes. This was with torque (+2 skill) and main craft image support. So 69+2 and 110+12

I asked AI.How could we make Relic WS in FFXI stronger?
In Final Fantasy XI (FFXI), Relic Weapon Skills (WS) are often considered weaker than modern alternatives due to fixed damage multipliers that do not scale with Technical Points (TP) like Empyrean or Mythic weapons.
Strengthening Relic WS could be achieved through several mechanical adjustments:
Rework TP Scaling: Modify Relic WS so that "damage varies with TP". Currently, many Relic WS only use TP to increase the duration of the Aftermath effect, whereas modern WS use it to increase raw potency.
Enhance Aftermath Potency: Increase the strength or duration of Relic Aftermaths. Proposed ideas include making them last up to 10 minutes or significantly increasing the potency of their specific buffs (e.g., Accuracy or Attack).
Update Secondary Attribute Modifiers (WSC): Adjust the percentage of stats (like STR, DEX, or MND) that contribute to the base damage of the WS to better align with high-level item level (i119) gear.
Apply Obstatical Damage (Augments): Use the Oboro augmentation system or Rank 15 upgrades to add specific "Weapon Skill Damage +" or "Damage +40%" modifiers to the corresponding Relic WS.
Improve Additional Effects: Buff the unique additional effects (e.g., Guttler's "Choke" or Excalibur's additional damage) so they do not get overwritten by or interfere with player buffs like Dancer Sambas or En-spells.
Weapon Skill Trials: Introduce new weapon skill trials that specifically target the potency of the Relic WS, similar to how Empyrean weapon skills were eventually unlocked and strengthened.

I only noticed issues when doing Sortie, got locked up on a chest for like 10 seconds, and yes thats using both Dressup and Packetflow

Started experimenting with a light box again. There is so much light and focus that I guess you don't have to edit much or it can be overdone. I see why ppl use it, but its a pain to set up lol. I need to add an acrylic base so it has a cool reflection like I see some people doing.
