Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say, just because we do not observe it doesnt mean server side it runs a QA/TA/DA check on the attack round.

Byrth said he OHKOed 5 rabbits in a row on thf without having gil deducted, then the 6th deducted gil. The only logical explanation is the first 5 rabbits were OHKOed by an attack round that proced triple attack (even though the second and third attacks never happened), the 6th rabbit was not a TA attack round.

I think you're totally misunderstanding what I'm trying to say (and I think we agree).

It makes sense that the server decides how many attacks before the round starts. (although I did not really think about this)
It was not intuitive/obvious to me that gil is deducted when the round starts (rather than the actual swing - which would never happen)
The nominal test for this is pretty simple: 0 multi attack on a job, check gil, use item, kill something in 1 hit, check gil (1k less) (which is all I initially was describing - so it was a bit of an indirect response I guess)

Go forward from their with other tests (TA vs. DA vs native DA etc...) which make more sense now, I just misunderstood the initial premise since its more intuitive to observe the attacks. (those results are clear as a bell after clearing up the initial mis-intuitiion)

Is there an addon for checking titles you have, even if just the number, or do you have to do it manually across a gazilion of different NPCs spread around?
By LightningHelix on 2025-11-14 07:22:52
Also entering the Garden itself, 1,000 separate days.

Titles for harvesting in the pond and sea. There are titles for harvesting 1000 times in each and you can only do it once per day

It only takes about a month give or take to get enough for all the achievement ones per craft, assuming you're completing almost every daily. Cooking is obviously worse. This might sound long (probably will take most people about a year total) but given I worked on it alongside the 3 year requirement ones for the mog garden, they felt a lot quicker.

I also kind of "preloaded" my GP in advance at some of the guilds so that when the synthesis campaign came around, I could quickly skill up and buy the items then switch to the next guild and repeat. Though doing this will reduce your overall accumulation speed as you won't be able to get the highest ranked turnins which generally raise the average you earn.

Which mog garden quest has 3 year requirement.

The main hurdle is needing GP to buy everything. Skiilling up from 70-88 in everything is the easy part.

Now the fun part of making a list of current achievements to use as a benchmark for the next hopeless sap who tries this lofty goal.

: currently me

i have been extremely lazy with RoEs so planning to finish those, and storylines/quests first, then will start chipping away at stuff like monstrosity/chocobo digging&raising.

is there a particular recommended order i do things in besides what i already have loosely planned? i have a craft i am planning to level during the campaign, but should i do the switcheroo stuff first? so i can get the stalls/titles from other crafts before going onto my desired craft/shield?

i feel like this is a pretty fun task, despite being basically overwhelming. stoked to have stuff to chip away at that i will at least be able to see a tangible benefit from while also having an excuse to do all stuff ive been way too lazy to do for years.
Make Mog Garden a part of your daily routine. If not actively skilling up crafts, at least be doing GP daily as well.

They withheld the crafting skill-up campaign quite a bit but this year they brought it back multiple times. Some crafts require hoarding of materials for the final stretch (Clothcraft comes to mind), so stock up so you're ready.

I thought the dynamis weapons were like virtue weapons and gave another chance to proc multi-attack. Does it still cap out at # multi-attack procs per round?

As far as I am aware, virtue weapons can indeed roll for the extra swing on all the other swings, but can only ever activate the extra attack once per round - once the swing is added it's not rolled for again.

If you're going to 88, no reason not to keep going to 98 to get every "Way of -" key item.

Im jumping into this community as a completely blind PUP hopeful who plans to build this job up from the ground up - (MNK gear is like what, 15% of this job?)

I have 1 question, since Oseem Augments are now daily - Is there a specific piece/set of gear that I might wanna use for my technique daily?

I'm tired of rollin for RDM 42+ MACC pants and I already got other pieces I need for my jobs... Planning ahead here and just tryin to see if Oseem is useful for this or not.

Lookin over guides is fun and all but if anyone has some weird Oseem Augments that are useful please let me know!

~Thanks~

I think Sechs means Mpaca Gloves, not Naga?
Yes I do, sorry for the confusion.
I can see Mpaca being on top especially for people with Xiucoatl.
But for people without I've been wondering about it.
It's basically WSD+10% vs DA+5, Att+25, DT-4%.
Not considering Acc here because I don't think it's relevant.

Relevance of att might be different whether or not you have Tension Spring and whether or not you use Beast Roll, likely the same with food (I never used food for instance).
DT probably somewhat relevant if you're going with a single Mana Jammer (and no Analyzer / Steam Jacket)
Other than that, it's basically Slightly faster WSs vs stronger WSs.

Concerning Analyzer and Steam Jacket now.
Analyzer only works on TP moves, and assuming the frog is gonna be in Hammer mode (having a PLD, BLU, DRK, RUN or having a Roll up) and since no earth maneuvers, it's gonna give 40% reduction on and off? One hammer goes off: full damage. Next goes off -40% damage. Next full, following -40% and so on.
that's how it works after the 2012 patch, no?

Steam Jacket instead works on element regardless of spells or TP moves. Being that the frog is gonna alternate Hammer (light damage? Or not elemental?) with Fire and Water spells, I think Steam Jacket is gonna do jackshit here.

I dunno I'm a bit skeptical here.
I've been having less than 20% pet DT in gear, single Mana Jammer and 1x Water Maneuver (with OD it's ~70MDB) and I've never seen my pet take more than 800 dmg.
I can't check the log because I was sitting too far from the puppet/frog, but the Automaton's HP is ~3900 and the worst damage I've seen in multiple runs brought it to ~3100. Which, for all I know, could've come from a quick succession of spell+hammer and not necessarily a single source.
What is the point I'm tryin to make here?
Well that Steam Jacket is barely useful if at all, and Analyzer is on and off repeatedly and honestly not really that useful without Earth Maneuvers.

This brings us back to the maneuvers setup.
Fire and Light are fixed, the option is about the third: Water vs Wind.
Water grants you more damage reduction thanks to the empowering of Mana Jammer (at that point even one is way more than enough, as proven by my damage reports) vs Wind, which is overkill if you're using double turbo charger, but you're gonna need it if your Overdrive ends up, otherwise your pet will be missing a ton of magic haste.

Last but not least there's the option on Tension Spring.
This is gonna be used... in place of Coiler? Or Inhibitor I guess?
Number of slots available change wether you use single or double manajammer I guess.
Personally I've gone the Coiler+Inhibitor but no Tension Spring route.
Coiler II with no thunder maneuver is "just" 10% DA. Which is nice but not exactly OP.
Inhibitor II is gonna be a massive 65STP but also the AI difference which can sometimes be annoying as Capuchin said.
Tension Spring V is gonna be a nice 27% attack.

Now it's a bit complicated to evaluate the impact of that 27% attack. I'm confident it's overkill, but going without TS leaves you under att cap for sure.
These slightly change according to your Dia (Dia2? Dia3? No dia at all?) and your roll (COR beast roll? /COR beast roll? No roll?)
Basically if you have Dia2 and at least a Beast roll, even if gimped, I think you can easily skip tension spring. You might end up slightly below the cap but close enough to justify another attachment in that slot.
If you have neither... well, I definitely wouldn't skip Tension Spring.

(other aspects that may impact this is Mpaca vs Taeon in the hands slot, 25 less attack, and wether or not you're using food for instance)

As I understand it in simple terms:

dINT is like fSTR, but it checks vs. the Mob's INT stat(whereas STR goes against VIT). It's the difference between your INT and the Mob's. More INT more better for all tiers of nukes and any magic WS with a dINT variable.

Macc affects resist rates. Resist rates have tiers, and each level of being resisted cuts damage or effect potency in half, depending on what the resist roll check was for the mob. When you get enough of it, they only get one roll, so you'll almost always hit your highest numbers by going unresisted.

MAB is a stat that is compared to a mob's MDB(Magic Defense Bonus). Just like with Attack vs. Defense, it directly impacts how much damage your spells or magic WS will be capable of. If a mob has really high MDB, you want to lower their MDB and raise your MAB by a lot to directly raise your damage.

Magic Damage is a flat addition to your spell or magic WS damage. Think Naegling's +217 Magic Damage. This will add 217 damage to any of your nukes or magic WS, making it very valuable for low level spells and less valuable for high level ones, it's the smallest increase but an increase nonetheless.

When gearing for high end nuking, afaik, it goes something like INT > MAB > Magic Damage, wherein your Macc needs mostly matter for free nuking because you mostly nuke on MBs where Macc still matters but matters a lot less (and generally MAB gear will have a lot macc anyway).

But I'm no mage main at all, so someone else can probably explain it better.

It just applies FUA to that hand, which afaik can only proc once anyway

All good info, keep the comments coming guys.

My strategies don't have minutia like using remedy, panacea, how to use your JA, or all the nitty-gritty. Some of them (especially due to the comment limit on Discord, where I have saved them...) are quite brief and assume a good amount of knowledge of your jobs.

Unfortunately, I think if you list out every thing every job is supposed to be doing all the time and the tiny details that improve performance, it will turn each strategy into a textbook so I'll probably continue to leave those details out.

I'm gonna keep editing in new strats as people post them, so keep 'em coming if you've got something different to what others have already posted.

I pronounced it "Gah-jill-a-horn" and got absolutely roasted for it. I had never once in my life heard somebody say that word out loud, so that was how my brain pronounced it.

I would like to have a single ffxi fan rise their hand and say they NEVER did this with some game term, cuz I cant believe it.

when voice chat picked up in usage, there was constantly someone pronouncing a zone, mob, spell, ability, piece of gear's name incorrectly only for everyone to make fun of them and then immediately do the same thing to some other term.

spoken language was a mistake!
*raises hand*
Actually I was generally the person giggling and correcting people (and probably still not 100% correct myself on everything, but confident and nerdy enough to bring people to believe me/in me.)

However!

When I went through Nuclear Field A School in the Navy, I had to do an Electronics Lab at some point with an Oscilloscope. My buddy Perez convinced this cute girl that was considered to be the airhead of our class into our lab group.

I was reading through the instructions, and came to the word, "Disheveled."

I was reading aloud.

Without thinking twice I spoke the word, "Diss-heaveled." As I'd never heard it spoken aloud, and I'd read it to myself that way in many a novel.

Miss Airhead giggles and pipes up, "Diss-Heaveled? Do you mean, "Dish-eveled?"

Confronted with two of my worst fears. Looking dumb and cute girls! And now a cute girl was making me look/feel dumb! Her cute giggling and correction will haunt me until I'm belly up in the grave!

This was finally the karmic rebalance for my years of roasting my fellow XI LSmates.
