fSTR should be capped on anything you will use Shijin Spiral on any ways.
you need about ~70 str to cap fstr w/ 99 spharai, his set has 32 listed+7 rcb.
Taru mnk/war has 98 with full merits. 98+39-70=67 IE uncapped on anything stronger than greater colibris unless getting str from somewhere else like boost str or minuets. Edit: slightly skewed cause i'm a taru, elvaans obviously are closer, but I still doubt they are capping on DC dyna mobs or some of the higher vit NMs in NNI. Actually, you need 48 dStr to cap fStr on 99 Spharai, not 70, which means anything up to 89 vit for the given str (or up to 100 vit for Elvaan). There will be mobs you won't cap on, but stuff like DC dyna mobs shouldn't be a problem.

Doesn't Spharai need 52 dSTR as it has a weapon rank of 6? Verethragna is probably what you are thinking of that is 48 dSTR.
Can I ask why (or a link to a more indepth look of fStr)? I'm hardly the best mathologist and was just going off of the bgwiki page and assumed it took 4-5str per fstr.

When the value of (STR - VIT) is high, fSTR can be approximated by (character STR - enemy VIT+4)/4. (dSTR + 4) / 4 = 14 dSTR + 4 = 56 dSTR = 52 I focused on the wrong part of the page. Thanks for clarifying, i'll use that from now on. I assume then, 5-6 str per fstr comes into play for the really low/negative deltastr?

[33 days between previous and next post]i was wondering if Shinjin is even worth meriting for ANYTHING if you have Vere (currently 85 should be 90 soon), other then just for fun, i have the gear to make a pretty good set for it already, and my 3rd merit Ws slot is kinda being wasted.. figured id ask befor i merit it.

For uber damage on SS, should I stack on gear that has +DEX or +STR or +attack? 100% DEX mod is pretty striaght forward i'd say

Point for point, DEX. But the proportions are obviously going to matter.

Updated a couple of em due to update, not sure if they're optimal or not, I'll edit them for future reference if something is clearly better:
Capped ATK: ItemSet 295935 Uncapped ATK: ItemSet 295936 Is it worth using Shijin Spiral at all with a level 90 Verethragna. I thought about switching my merits around and I could get this WS I have 1 WS currently going to waste somewhat.
If the following situation were to occur, in an outside event, not in abyssea, aftermath already up, Impetus is down, would it be worthwhile to use SS or am I still better off sticking with VS? |
