Real money trading (RMT) and other illicit activities upset the balance of the game and, as such, are prohibited under the Terms of Service.

Because we have confirmed the existence of players who are engaging in these illicit activities, we have taken the actions listed below.

In addition, any witnessed RMT advertisement can be reported by right clicking the character name in the chat log and selecting the menu [Report] -> [Report RMT Activity].
The report will be processed automatically, and if determined to fall under RMT advertising, the reported character's comments will be restricted.

We will continue to take stringent disciplinary action against any accounts with confirmed involvement in RMT/illicit activity; players should take care to steer clear of any activity that violates the Terms of Service.

Regarding the response to a critical vulnerability in the PHP programming language, we were forced to unexpectedly suspend new logins for approximately one day from Oct. 21 to Oct. 22, 2026. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Although this was an urgent security measure, in consideration of the fact that we were unable to provide advance notice and that the suspension lasted for an extended period, we would like to grant one day of game time to the following customers.

Eligible Accounts: FINAL FANTASY XIV service accounts that meet the following conditions:
・The full version of FINAL FANTASY XIV has been registered to the service account.
・The service account had an active subscription as of Oct. 21, 2026 or Oct. 22, 2026 (PDT).

Grant Period: One day of game time
・For accounts with recurring subscription payments, the subscription end date at the time the game time is granted will be extended by one day. 　
* Paid optional services, such as additional retainer subscriptions, will also be extended by one day.
・For accounts without recurring subscription payments, one day of game time will be added.

Grant Timing: To be granted sequentially from Oct. 28, 2026 12:00 a.m. (PDT)
・Due to the large number of eligible service accounts, the process is expected to take two to three days to complete.

*The above compensation applies to services in the global version. Because the impact on logins and applicable laws vary by region, the availability of compensation and the number of days granted for the emergency response to the vulnerability in the PHP programming language will differ depending on the operating region.

The server backup function for save data, which had been temporarily suspended to address a critical vulnerability in the PHP programming language—a vulnerability with confirmed global impact—has resumed around 1:35 a.m. (PDT) on Friday, October 23, 2026, following the completion of security enhancement measures.

Security enhancement work related to the PHP programming language has been completed. The automatic housing demolition timer, which is currently suspended, will therefore resume on Oct. 26, 2026 1:00 a.m. (PDT).

To address a critical vulnerability in the programming language “PHP,” which is currently affecting systems worldwide, we are implementing security enhancements on the Final Fantasy XIV patch servers.

We have confirmed an issue with Moogle Treasure Trove - The First Hunt for Astronomy, which ended on Oct. 19, 2026 at 7:59 a.m. (PDT), wherein the completion deadline for the Week 6 Weekly Objectives and Minimog Challenges was incorrectly displayed in the in-game Mogpendium as Oct. 20, 2026 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT).

As this issue may have prevented some players from completing the Week 6 Weekly Objectives and Minimog Challenges, we considered possible measures such as extending the event period by one week. However, this event is structured so that the progression of each week is linked starting with Week 1, making it difficult to extend Week 6 alone or add a new Week 7.

Therefore, we plan to provide compensation by some means at a later date. Further details regarding the method and timing of the compensation will be announced once they have been determined.

We have confirmed instances of unauthorized access to Square Enix accounts by third parties using a combination of email addresses/account IDs and passwords that appear to have been obtained from other online services of other companies.

Using the same email address/account ID and password combination for your Square Enix account as you do for other online services increases the possibility of a third party gaining unauthorized access to your Square Enix account. Furthermore, even if your email address/account ID and password combination is not identical to those used for other services, there is still a high risk of your account being compromised if your password contains easily discernible patterns of characters or numbers or your date of birth.

Should you happen to be using the same email address/account ID and password combination on your Square Enix account as you do for another service, or if you are using a password that can be easily guessed, we strongly recommend changing your password immediately.
