I've only ever met people who were "drag" as they called it and were very uncomfortable talking to a straight male about it except for the one who was like a mirror image of Tina Turner

i've always wondered if hormonal therapy is fast like wake up one morning and "holy ***i got boobies" or if its 3 years later and "gdi still an A cup"
It really varies from person to person. Genetics and age also play a part. Generally, the sooner they start HRT, the more effective it will be. I've had friends that were a B after a couple months, others that stayed an A. My growth was in line with the other women in my family. A, after a couple months, literally "gdi still an A cup" for a couple years, then somehow grew to a C. Fascinating I had theories and you answered my next question without my asking which was if genetics dictated growth or if the Dr could target specifics
Genetics, and how much of an effect male puberty has had are the major factors. Start between 13-18, and the effects will be identical to standard female puberty. 19-28, probably smaller than average, male skeletal growth will have already taken hold, so that will effect things, narrower hips, wider ribcage, broader shoulders (the latter two can make breasts appear smaller than they actually are). The older you start, the more diminished the effects will be. Results vary all across the board though.
I started HRT when I was 19, but my testosterone was already really low, well below the male range.

Cisgender means your gender identity matches the sex you were born as.
Transgender means your gender identity does not match the sex you were born as. The medical term for this is gender dysphoria.

Ditto to female impersonators or cross-dressers. Drag is a performance, typically dominated by gay men (and women these days), female impersonators tend to be comedic but also entertainment focused and often straight, and cross-dressing may or may not be a fetish activity. The words get a bit fluid.
A transgender person usually isn't dressing differently from their biological gender for anyone's entertainment and retains their trans-identified gender. A performer may be "she" on stage but, once the make-up and falsies come off, is back to "he." Though, again, very fluid stuff here that muddies the waters as these are trends rather than rules.
I've got a question for you, Ginny: Are you familiar with the cartoon show The Venture Brothers? There's a character that wavers all over the place in terms of being trans. For me, as a cis person, I actually don't think he's portrayed terribly (he's not mocked or denigrated when becoming female nor when reverting back, though there is deliberate comedy in retaining his stubble while living as a woman), but I wonder if the transgender community has a different perspective.

I can't really speak for the community on this, but I am a huge fan of The Venture Brothers. I didn't think the character ever really crossed the line. I can't recall much, if any outrage over Hunter from the community. There was more talk about the Season Two cliffhanger with Doctor Girlfriend revealing something to The Monarch,

Ginny, a somewhat related question to Onorgul's; are you familiar with the game Catherine?
Many of Catherine's scenes take place in a bar where the waitress, Erica, is trans. If you know of the game, what are your thoughts on Erica's portrayal of a transperson in gaming?

I absolutely loved Erica. The relationship between her and her friends was realistic. A lot of my friends are the same way. One of the best portrayals I have seen in gaming, or any media.
There were a few who had issues with the fact she was experiencing the Nightmares. Though the story clearly explains that it's not because she is trans, but because she is keeping her boyfriend from reproducing. Through the game's logic, the same would happen to an infertile cisgender woman.
I was also pleasantly surprised with Dragon Age: Inquisition.

I was also pleasantly surprised with Dragon Age: Inquisition. Yeah, I thought she was a good portrayal too. When Toby finds out and brings it up, he seems a little bummed but it's all kinda played out in a non-negative way where he just accepts it.
Keep in mind I never played Catherine, but watched quite a bit of the cutscenes.

Russia says drivers must not have 'sex disorders'
Quote: Russia has listed transsexual and transgender people among those who will no longer qualify for driving licences.
Fetishism, exhibitionism and voyeurism are also included as "mental disorders" now barring people from driving.
The government says it is tightening medical controls for drivers because Russia has too many road accidents.
"Pathological" gambling and compulsive stealing are also on the list. Russian psychiatrists and human rights lawyers have condemned the move.
The announcement follows international complaints about Russian harassment of gay-rights activists.
New Russian Regulation Says Transgender People Unfit to Drive
Quote: Transgender people may no longer be allowed to drive cars in Russia under new road safety regulations signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
A decree published on the government website earlier this month lists an array of health conditions that can disqualify someone from getting behind the wheel, among them "personality and behavioral disorders" listed in the World Health Organization's classification of diseases.
The sections in question — F60 to F69 — name transsexualism and transvestism, along with other "disorders of sexual preference," such as fetishism and voyeurism. "Disorders associated with sexual development and orientation" are also listed.
The new road safety rules are "aimed at reducing the death rate from traffic incidents" in the country, a government note accompanying the decree said. It did not specify how being genderqueer could limit a person's ability to drive safely.
The Association of Russian Lawyers for Human Rights lambasted the new rules as violations of the Russian Constitution, saying in an online statement that the decree deprives "all transgender people, bigender, asexuals, transvestites, cross-dressers [and] people who need a sex reassignment" of the right to drive.
