Is FFXI Dead?

Sure, XIV has a lot of content, but to be blunt, after a certain point it loses its magic.
And this point comes around way too fast.

At a certian point all I was doing was roulettes to cap my Soldiery, send my puppet out on another venture and walk away from my computer to do something else.

Coil 1? Been there, done that, seen Bahamut's severed head.
Coil 2? Oh, hmmm let me ask my original coil static. Oh, 5 of em are still struggling with the Snakes on the Divebombs phase...
Primals? Nothing of interest dropping from those, and I'm done trying to teach pick ups how to dance.
Crystal tower? Don't even get me started on that...

Free company? Good bunch of guys, but they're in the same place I am and I'm not particularly in the mood to look for another as the more serious companies require things from me like taking time off work.

Aside from that fact that any content that matters pretty much requires a static party to do, unless you are able to become a Vulcan and push out all forms of emotion.

As much as I enjoy the game, Final Fantasy XIV one of the very few games that has managed to make me genuinely angry.

Idk what server you are on but on excalibur I see plenty of turn 6 7 8 and 9 yes turn 9 pugs, leviathan EX, exp parties, turn1-5 farms and no doubt there will be plenty of CT2 once it released.

Just because you got bored and unmotivated that doesnt mean everyone else is or will. Im still gearing all my alt jobs to 90 and getting smn and sch geared past 90 and still need to farm up a second set of atmas.

LOL all of which are probably going to be added and how is sch a reject? It does a lot of things whm cant do but it cant heal for raw amounts as much as a whm can. My highest crit aldo is 1925 which is 3850 damage mitigated as well as 1925 healed. Highest succor is around 700 crit which again is 1400 damage mitigated. When ive got aetherflow charges up depending on on the content ive got an AoE DT-10% shield for 30 secs with a 60 sec cool down or a insta cure for 25% of the targets hp which can be used while moving. Best option is to have 1 of each for 8 man parties and for 4 man it doesnt really matter.

Maybe but no dot dmg, no nukes, no bending magic like ffxi. Sch in 14 is a reject and saddens me.

How well sch and blu are in ffxi keeps me subbed for enjoyment.

Now 8f they made drk in the job of FF dimionsions with its traits, it would make me sub. That drk job would put cicil 8n ff4 to shame. He would rip over that drks abilities.

I've been giving it some thought and I'd really like to get back into FFXI. The only thing I'm worried about is the amount of players online. Are the servers dead? Can anyone on Cerberus tell me the average of online players? Do you think its time SE should merge servers again?
