Well lack of invent space is no long an excuse for not having every set for every situation since 160 spaces that you can equip from. So lets see what excuses people come up with now for not having all their sets.

It will come down to macro lines. Not everyone uses or even understands how to use Spellcast/Gearswap.
I'm happy to admit I'm too lazy to use Spellcast but even then Windower scripts work just fine.
That said, console players really do get stiffed; swapping multiple gear slots is inconvenient to the point of unworkable even though it's gotten a bit better post-Adoulin.
how has it gotten better post adoulin? also with the /macro line (i think that was the syntax haven't played in over a year now) commands and a little imagination you could set up a macro so that you can press the same macro combination 3x in a row and swap up to 15 pieces of gear and the swap is instant, its a tad annoying but workable for players without spell cast.
Maybe I am mistaken but didn't SE say they were looking into making it so that we could swap multiple pieces of gear on one macro line? (though I guess we all know what its like when SE says they are "looking into" something)
It's gotten better because the gear is so powerful, well-rounded, and generally interchangeable that you don't necessarily need more than the six lines in one macro.
First thing I was asked: Hey Bepe can you gear your sch real quick to stun some delve.
I then proceed to go through my inventory that I hadn't accessed in months, and then I remembered why I stopped playing sch... instant 90/80 inventory -.-
Just wondering how many days I will be unable to make any event (or be restricted to the job I log out as before the update) until //gc gets fixed/updated :D

Not really. You still need your full sets for FC/Mdmg/elemental gorgets/belts/rings etc. Stats like stat and attributes are likely interchangeable, but you still need more than 6 to actually equip your better sets.
Edit: WTF took them so long? Wasn't there an excuse years ago about ps2 barance and not being able to implement something like this? What has changed? Well, besides the ffxi population.

Probably someone called them out over an email or something saying they were full of ***.
