If I needed any further confirmation that RFRA is a shitty law, it's that I'm not entirely sure Hobby Lobby doesn't have a claim here.

Birth control is not health care, it is pleasure care.

First of all, no. Health benefits of birth control has already been outlined in this thread.

There's also the fact that being pregnant and giving birth is a pretty big deal regarding a woman's health.

Phoenix.Amandarius said: »
Birth control is for people that want to have sex for pleasure but do not want the actual consequences of sex to occur, pregnancy. Pay for it yourself. It is cheap.

Second of all, yes. It's nice that you're willing to make my argument for me. While you view it negatively, I view it positively. We don't live in caves anymore, women are allowed to do what they want without your input kthx

Don't talk all I am woman hear me roar, then be like butttttt I want my employer to pay for it for me. If you wanna be independent then don't be dependent. Big girls buy birth control.

The Bible is Christianity's only physical connection to their deity. It 'documents' Gods deeds. You don't get to pick and choose what aspects of God from the Bible you want to worship and ignore the rest.
WAITAFRICKINGMINUET.

Everyone does that. I do that. I don't keep kosher and have been known to wear mixed fibers.

Really. It isn't just the evangelicals. It is so rare to follow all the prohibitions that people have written books about it.

The Year of Living Biblically

And the woman's version:

A Year of Biblical Womanhood
Doesn't matter if they make sense to follow in this day and age. I don't recall a "Well, if the world of humans evolves to a certain point, you can start ignoring X, Y, and Z." section of the book, as of my last read through. Anyone who doesn't follow everything is technically a pretty poor follower.

I also like how numerous Christians don't view Jesus as their Lord and Savior, according to the Bible. Y'know, because they use Leviticus to dispute gay marriage, which was nullified and replaced when their Savior was born. Jesus also healed a Roman Soldiers male love slave.

So why are penis pumps / Viagra covered yet we're railing on femalle contraception?
I'm still waiting on the answer of "who allowed this in the first place?"
I, frankly, don't give a ***who endorsed it. If it's allowed, women's birth control definitely needs to be included.

And not even for all the health benefits. Just because if men can have pleasure care coverage, women should too.

Land of equality, right?

It's actually a pretty interesting read. Really good fiction book. I personally rate it up there with Rowling, Tolkien and King.

People get killed left and right in the last book. Also sent to the wizarding equivalent of Concentration Camps. It's super serious.

You can make this same argument for pretty much every kind of coverage. Should we get rid of all coverage?

Better question, why doesn't everyone have fone on block?

Hobby Lobby's argument seems so tenuous that I'm not even sure how this made it all the way to SCOTUS. On the other hand, it's another way to expand corporate rights so I guess there's my answer.

Probably by using the same shady lawyer logic a'la the 14th amendment, that allowed corporations to be recognized as an individual.
Never figured out how that one came to be, and it just reiterates my point of that the SCOTUS gave themselves the power of judicial review, unconstitutionally...

They can't which is why SB1062 was shot down in AZ.

edit: There is a disassociation between the individuality and identity of the owner and board and the company itself, per: Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad - 118 U.S. 394 (1886) and Pembina Consolidated Silver Mining Co. v. Pennsylvania - 125 U.S. 181 (1888)

aka Corporate Personhood.

Legally?

501(c)(3) are considered to be corporations in the eyes of the government.

Churches are considered a 501(c)(3).

Therefor, corporations can have religious beliefs.

501(c)(3) is a non-profit corporation classification. More specifically "charitable organizations". Whereas most "non-profit" corporations are 501(c)(6).

Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood however are for profit corporations.
