I wish I were surprised that besides a few plusses, no one has responded to my post about an extremely viable and effective means of birth control that isn't in use for some stupid invalid reason.
I'm not a woman so my opinion isn't valid. Only if you opinion is against it while not having problems with old impotent men having coverage so they have a chance at getting laid. So, who put the penis pumps and Viagra as Medicare eligible expenses?

I do enjoy women telling me what to do though. It makes life easier.
I'm against people reproducing in general. So I couldn't be anti birth control.
No worries, you're doing a good enough job.

Some day the Supreme Court will make abortions mandatory and I'll be happy.

Maybe you should become a leftist, learn some actual responsibility and pushing for contraception coverage to keep women from getting pregnant.
Can't pray to god for everything and hope everything turns out alright. That's irresponsible.
If you have a job you can easily buy birth control. But of course this would require people to actually make a choice to do the responsible thing like maybe don't eat lunch at Panera Bread everyday, maybe pack a lunch on Tuesday so you can afford your birth control. Done. Won't be long 'til lefties want to put sterilants in our drinking water, some already float the idea.

But I need to smoke cigarettes everyday I can't afford birth control.
I'm down to three packs a day.
Actually the government should give cigarettes to moms it might be cheaper than birth control...

Very true. It's just that when you discuss matters regarding to health care, you should include all things related to health care. I can easily afford blood tests whenever I want. I still want my health insurance to cover it if I ever find myself in a situation where one is needed.

I don't know a thread about birth control brings out the worst in people. But yea nothing good can come from this.
However if we all agreed what would we talk about the weather ?
I think I speak for about 90% of the forum when I say:
"You ARE the worst of us."

I will fight for the right for natural blondes to reproduce.
I will fight you too, and we all know how badly you do in a fight.

This question isn't about whether insurance should cover birth control, it's about whether a for profit company has the right to refuse specific portions of ACA regulations based on the religious beliefs of the owners... Which is moronic... It's logistically no different than a company trying to avoid paying taxes because of the religious beliefs of the owners.

....
The Bible is Christianity's only physical connection to their deity. It 'documents' Gods deeds. You don't get to pick and choose what aspects of God from the Bible you want to worship and ignore the rest. WAITAFRICKINGMINUET.
Everyone does that. I do that. I don't keep kosher and have been known to wear mixed fibers.
Really. It isn't just the evangelicals. It is so rare to follow all the prohibitions that people have written books about it.

Birth control is not health care, it is pleasure care. Birth control is for people that want to have sex for pleasure but do not want the actual consequences of sex to occur, pregnancy. Pay for it yourself. It is cheap.

They only put that "can opt out due to religious beliefs" to prevent this from being unconstitutional.

So why are penis pumps / Viagra covered yet we're railing on female contraception?
This is simply yet another battle of theists trying to push their agenda on others. It's about controlling the poor and shoring up the base through reproduction. Unsurprisingly, large amounts of guilt are heaped on top to perpetuate the system.

Yeah no exemptions from Obamacare were given out whatsoever, right? It would be totally crazy for them to make this small cutout because they clearly don't exempt any groups they like, no unions or anything. Right? No exemptions to Obamacare, right? Right, Brah? Amirite? Brah...

So, who put the penis pumps and Viagra as Medicare eligible expenses? IDK King, but try as hard as I might I really can't blame this on old, impotent, male politicians.
Bet it was a bureaucratic thing. Old, impotent, male bureaucrats? No idea.

Do you even interact with women on even the platonic level?!?
All I'm going to say (and I know that I've said this umpteen times now) is that there are non-contraceptive purposes for birth control.
Regulation of irregular/heavy menstruation. (Anemia falls in there!)
Endometriosis.
Ovarian cancer/cysts and uterine cancer.
/shakes head disapprovingly
Please tell that to a fifteen-year-old who passes out out of nowhere running North Carolinas. Please!
EDIT: There are obvious conversational thresholds that haven't been crossed with some of you whether on a romantic or platonic level with gal-pals.

I love how the word responsibility is used as if the ultimate agenda of these theists isn't to make contraception so difficult that poor people once again are swept into their arms when you're 19 and pregnant and down on your knees asking Jesus for a bailout. Naturally, you didn't stand a chance because the deck was stacked against you, you never learned about sex proper to know the risks and your access to birth control effectively stifled.
The rich of course can get their contraception through their networks of connections, effectively skirting the rules because they're responsible. They're rich after all!

First of all, no. Health benefits of birth control has already been outlined in this thread.
There's also the fact that being pregnant and giving birth is a pretty big deal regarding a woman's health.

Second of all, yes. It's nice that you're willing to make my argument for me. While you view it negatively, I view it positively. We don't live in caves anymore, women are allowed to do what they want without your input kthx

Gentle remainder #2: abortion is endorsed in the bible.
I would really love to find out where certain people's beliefs and values come from one day. It's obviously not from the bible because the bible tells you that abortion, slavery and murder are a-ok.

pleasure care! like how penis pumps and viagara are covered by Medicare and the right wing has no qualms with it?? Maybe you ought to rethink that phrase there.

Court majority harshly critical of Obamacare contraception mandate - CNN
Quote: The court is reviewing provisions of the Affordable Care Act requiring for-profit employers of a certain size to offer insurance benefits for birth control and other reproductive health services without a co-pay.
At issue is whether certain companies can refuse to do so on the sincere claim it would violate their owners' long-established personal beliefs. The problem as I see it. like many religious beliefs this one is something demonstrably false. They believe the IUD and morning after pills are abortifacants. They are not. But it IS a sincere religious belief.
For balance....
Barbara Boxer: Why no Viagra complaints? - Politico
Quote: “I have never heard Hobby Lobby or any other corporation, I could be wrong, or any other boss complain that Viagra is covered in many insurance plans, practically all of them, or other kinds of things, you know, for men, which I won’t go into Like penis pumps?
Samantha Bee Finds Out Medicare Funds Penis Pumps - Huffington Post.
Quote: As NARAL president Ilyse Hogue explained to Bee during the segment, Medicare has spent $172 million on penis pumps over the last five years, and no one seems to have a problem with that.
