lame wikipedia definition
"A corporation is a separate legal entity that has been incorporated either directly through legislation or through a registration process established by law. Incorporated entities have legal rights and liabilities that are distinct from their employees and shareholders,[1] and may conduct business as either a profit-seeking business or not-for-profit business.... So, this was taken directly from their website:
Quote: At Hobby Lobby, we value our customers and employees and are committed to:
- Honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company in a manner consistent with biblical principles.
- Offering our customers exceptional selection and value in the crafts and home decor market.
- Serving our employees and their families by establishing a work environment and company policies that build character, strengthen individuals and nurture families.
- Providing a return on the owner's investment, sharing the Lord's blessings with our employees, and investing in our community.
When Honoring the Lord comes first before your employees, something like this was bound to happen.

I tried to tackle birth control but there were too many "war on women" signs in my way. When can we have a "war on men"?
I kindof feel left out...
Can I have my own "pity me" party?

War on men is actually going to war... but I'm too worried about birth control to think about men dying for their country.

War on men is actually going to war... but I'm too worried about birth control to think about men dying for their country. Isn't that the part where men don't want women to go to war with them because they're too afraid they won't be able to control their urges and rape them? Oh wait... all women secretly want to be raped so it's all good...

How is this a pity party?
You pay for births, vaccinations and check-ups via Medicaid already. How is this more cost effective?
Nice how some of you dodge the legitimate health concerns posed by and reiterated multiple times by many of the females. You make the discussion pointless when you continually gloss over valid points. We can all type until our fingers bleed and it wouldn't matter, because you don't listen. (I bet you've been bitched at a lot for not listening, and rightly so, if this is any indication.) You all lack expansive thought, sympathy, and empathy, and we're suppose to take you seriously on any social issue? Your ilk does the same exact thing to our resident LGBTers.

If you haven't noticed, I have not said one word about birth control pills and their alternate uses since Emirii showed me her support for her argument
While I don't fully agree (I still think there are alternate drugs that cures the same symptoms she has without that nasty side effect of lower chance of pregnancy), I do respect her viewpoint and have not chimed into Saeval's tirade against women.
Although I do agree with some points he made, I don't think that he portrayed them correctly.

Well... My fiance when she was a teenager was prescribed some form of the pill because she was having heavy flows. Her mom being an ultra conservative (and I mean ultra), was dead against it. Basically she didn't want to have to explain to her other conservative friends why her teenage daughter was on the pill. She feared the perception would be that she was ok with her teenage daughter having sex, by her peers.
Moral of the story: misconceptions, preconceptions, ignorance and fear > Science; in some circles.

I think you grabbed the wrong set of health concerns from the one's Zahrah is talking about. Pregnancy is a huge health risk for women and preventing it, by whatever means, is hugely more cost-effective than not.
Seriously, spend 5 minutes googling the complications of pregnancy and you'll be amazed that anyone gets born at all.

Ya'll remember, how up until the advent of modern medicine in the 20th century that women usually died while pregnant and or while giving birth?
Wonder what that was all about? (hinting at a point Zahrah made a 1000 posts ago)

Now I see your logic.
But either way, I won't fall for your trolling attempt.

dunno I was writing that post before you responded to Ono, I was just saying pregnancy and child birth was akin to a death sentence for most women before modern medicine.

I'm very thankful for my mother in that respect. She really didn't care about the sewing circle when it came to my problems since she had first-hand experience with the endless L&D circus. LOL!
On the flip-side, one of my Baptist buddies in HS was knocked up our senior year (she was operating under the "you can't get pregnant the first time you have sex" song and dance). After we all scattered off to college, and they were left there, we all reconvened for a funeral. See, it's interesting that some of our posters don't understand that this delusion they have that pregnancy/untimely birth doesn't effect them, it can't possibly effect other men. Some men will buckle on their premature losses too, and do wonderful things like splatter their brains across a wall with a rifle at the kitchen table.
EDIT: The mother finished college, thankfully, and is remarried. Silver linings. They were also out of the house at the time.
Crude story, but something to lighten the mood...
My mother had been working ER when she first came to the US with my dad. Wouldn't you know it, her first "WTF is wrong with Americans?!?" moment came when a lady decided she was going to have fun with a Coke bottle! Keep in mind, in the late 1970's the bottles were still glass. Well, Lady Fun and Frivolity had to have the bottle surgically removed because the bottle created a vacuum (Duh!), so she was unable to remove the pleasure bottle from her hoo-ha!
EDIT: Lost of edits. I get flustered recalling and typing that, even if it was a decade ago.

That still happens, you be surprised how many light bulbs need to be surgically removed for both men and women in a given year.

Thank you very much for that little attack, I really appreciate it.
Court majority harshly critical of Obamacare contraception mandate - CNN
Quote: The court is reviewing provisions of the Affordable Care Act requiring for-profit employers of a certain size to offer insurance benefits for birth control and other reproductive health services without a co-pay.
At issue is whether certain companies can refuse to do so on the sincere claim it would violate their owners' long-established personal beliefs. The problem as I see it. like many religious beliefs this one is something demonstrably false. They believe the IUD and morning after pills are abortifacants. They are not. But it IS a sincere religious belief.

Quote: As NARAL president Ilyse Hogue explained to Bee during the segment, Medicare has spent $172 million on penis pumps over the last five years, and no one seems to have a problem with that.
