Because grandma chanti receives funding from george soros to repost huffpo articles ad naseum that disparage conservatives.

because conservatives walk around with their feet in their mouths

because it's easier for young people that still live with their parents to be liberal idealists having been able to thus far avoid the brutal realities of this world

because old people are lame and don't video game

because conservatives are too busy working to pay for your food stamps to post in forums all day

because everyone agrees with conservatives right up until the point they start talking about meddling in people's personal lives

because the terrorists won a long time ago

because nausi makes us feel like idiots for posting conservative viewpoints

because it's part of obama's diabolical plan to control the media.

because they don't force children to read 1984

because liberals don't understand the yin and yang balance that must exit in the universe and they think they can destroy evil and by the time they figure out they are wrong it's too late and they are languishing in a russian prisons knitting hats so the guards that kick their *** every day's ear don't get cold

Why do I never see "Democrat does......"?

At a thought, I'd imagine it has a lot to do with the fact that the issues they tackle just aren't as sexy for this demographic.

"Democrat mayor says that middle class taxes should be raised to help afford new youth center" just isn't sexy.

Despite the fact that it could be a stupid idea, it could be back-breaking for the middle class, and ineffective to help fight the imaginary youth issue in this imaginary situation, it's not a sexy issue.

The word "Gay" doesn't appear. "Abortion" doesn't appear. The issues, imo, just aren't exciting.

I consider myself a social liberal and economic centrist/slightly right (I even took an internets test and those are always right). I also mostly only browse this forum and I think:

-There's one guy (Chanti) that posts anti-republican threads somewhat regularly but instead of responding with anything intelligent conservatives will almost always immediately begin ridiculing the article, the poster, or just post some non sequitur. I suppose you might be jaded but at that point you should probably either stop posting because for people that browse like myself you don't really give me any information on the topic.

-Many of the conservatives that regularly post claim they care about facts and liberals (who are actually centrists for the most part) shun them, but refuse to accept statistics/reports/news that disagree with their view, or refuse to educate themselves on a topic (usually scientific) they obviously have no expertise in themselves whereas many of the people identified as "liberal" clearly do.

-About 80% of the posters, both liberal and conservative, are obnoxious douchebags. It's the internet, so that probably just goes without saying. Ironically I think Chanti is one posters around here who it's easier to have a conversation with.

As the title says I read through forums on this site and I never see a democrat did something stupid or said something offensive threads? Whys is that?

In addition to people not using the Random P&R thread, like someone mentioned earlier, AH has also become so engulfed in the endless battle of Libs v. Cons that any thread related to international news is slingshot back into the American political sphere via one poster or another. We're also missing the old, scientific discovery/innovation threads that we could collectively marvel at, because this place has become so complacent with it's cyclical Teapublican/RINO/Libtard mudslinging mentality.

To sum it all up, now you never see anything broader than threads that turn into pitching pecans loaded with sticker burs at each other on the playground of P&R.

I agree with Xueye. Most people in my age group think of Republicans as people 50 plus that aren't cool. Which of course is not true. Just like stereotypes of Democrats they are not all tree hugging hippies. Just like Republicans are not all crazy racists wackos.'

Talking about moderate Democrats or Republicans would be boring. So most people speak of the extreme left or extreme right.

it isn't that this site is anti-republican. it is the fact that most posters here are most likely under 25 years old. the young are usually always liberal thinking. that changes as they get older and actually experience real life. jobs responsibility and raising a family.

People don't seem to post them here. No one is stopping you from finding such items and posting them.

Last I heard both Wiener and Spitzer were Democrats....

Also, from my thread "Republican makes a REALLY stupid comment."

And liberals/Dems never say anything equally stupid? ....
As a matter of fact no.

Equally wrong I will grant no problem. But nothing NEAR that stupid.

And for balance here is a Democrat saying something stupid:

Texas District Attorney Candidate: Domestic Violence Is 'So, So Overrated

Quote:
Lloyd Oliver, a Democratic candidate for district attorney in Harris County, Texas, has a problem with domestic violence: He thinks it's prosecuted too much.

Oliver told the Texas Observer Wednesday that domestic violence is "so, so overrated." If elected, he indicated he'd redirect resources away from family violence to focus on other issues.
......
In a 2012 appearance on "Reasonable Doubts," a weekly call-in show sponsored by the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, Oliver said domestic violence victims should "maybe learn how to box a little better."
Which STILL isn't as stupid as:

Quote:
As it turns out, that was maybe a good thing that he had a 100-round magazine
If I can find this stuff you can.

I was excited to finally listen to that band's music. I like punk, I like metal. They look awesome, great name and I like what they did in Russia.

However, their music is just terrible. It is very difficult to listen to. In short, they suck and it was disappointing.

The problem with the random P and R is the fact it is random. It is hard for anyone to stay on topic in a normal P&R thread let alone a random topic.

Fact? False assumption lol... most of the people donned liberals that post regularly in the P&R section are above the age of 25, have jobs/homes and some even have families.

Also, making that ssumption that simply getting older and raising a family automatically gains you some kind of wisdom that shifts you to the conservative side is as comical as it is false. It even goes against conservative thought.

You'll find sane people on each side and crazy people on each side. Civil discourse here is almost impossible because the same discussion has been had so many times with the same people that the trenches have already been dug by the time it starts and the grenades are already being thrown.

That and people are so bias towards their own group and many times unwilling to admit any wrong doing or give any ground even when they know there is fault on their side (pub and dem alike) that you can't really get anywhere. In any case when you sit there and insult people you only get farther apart.

I really don't get this victim card that the pubs here seem to be playing all too often though. Change the tables if you think things are stacked against you. Start creating threads that you think should be discussed. Or I guess you could resort to calling everyone that doesn't agree with you a little kid that hasn't yet experienced life.

Mmmm...Most of the P&R crowd is the opposite of what you think. The under-twenty-five crowd is mostly in RT.

Oh I agree. They have a complete lack of musical talent and seemingly no desire whatsoever to learn how to play instruments.

The guy that posts the threads that are being complained about is like, at least 50, last I checked.

Like I said, obnoxious.

Well, this has been enlightening. Almost every post in this thread is guilty of mirror-imaging; that is, falsely assuming that their own personal values are reflective of the group as a whole.

I spend lots of time examining the phenomenon, so I'm more likely to catch it, by the way. It's a really common comprehensional shortcut used by normal folks. However, it's also very telling when people resort to employing it in a context that does not well support it. Namely, the only reason most people don't know their fellow posters' ideological and/or partisan views is because they never really read them. I've long suspected this, but I do appreciate the confirmation.

Related note: most of the socially conservative posters here (do we need to have another lesson on separating social and fiscal ideology again?) who get upset by a minority population pushing back against real or perceived discrimination/oppression/whatever are also the first ones to start claiming martyrdom. If you really think the appropriate response of, say, a gay couple at a homophobic bakery is to leave, go somewhere else, and never bring the issue to larger attention, why does it not occur to do the same when hanging around an alleged bastion of "liberals"?
