He wasn't a lawyer. He gave up his law license to avoid being disbarred and humiliated when it was revealed he lied to pass the bar.

I got the same chain e-mail you did, and I investigated it instead of taking it as gospel because it supported my views.

No, he was a representative of the University of Chicago as an adjuct professor. The definition is clear, you are the one trying to change it.
You investigated nothing. I just googled "Obama not a lawyer" and Viola! your link was the first result. Stop pretending Google Boy.
Not hard to find the same article twice, bubba.
Nice try at deflection, you're wrong, on both accounts. Find something factual to use as justification, it's all tinfoil so far.

We will stick with the same definition, you can adjust your completely false interpretation.

Are you denying that he surrendered his law license?

This may surprise you, but just because someone doesn't have to put a lot of effort into obtaining the information that proves you wrong doesn't mean you're suddenly right.

As you can follow the links to the Illinois Bar Association in that article, he still possesses a law license, he requested it be placed inactive, which is not uncommon for politicians who were lawyers.
Its not me denying he surrendered his license, the facts say he didn't surrender it.

So you are just going to openly lie now? Why?
By Jetackuu 2014-01-18 21:06:32
Apparently you've never been to college, as that's what professors do...
You've been proven wrong on both accounts, give up, you are embarrassing yourself.

I'm sorry, what am I lying about? The state of illinois says he has a license and there is no record of any disciplinary actions or investigations on his record. Are you accusing the state of doctoring information or are you saying that reality is lying?

It's OK you want to water down Professor to lift up one man.
Are you saying Jet that Obama did not give up his law license? What happened to it? Did someone steal it?

He doesn't have a law license. Stop saying that. You look like a fool.

You have to have malpractice insurance to hold an active law license, why would you keep it active if you aren't practicing law?

Quote: This is incorrect: Barack Obama did not "surrender" his law license. Like Michelle, Barack Obama had no need for an active law license for the work in which he was engaged, so in February 2007 (after announcing his candidacy for the presidency) he chose to have his law license placed on “voluntarily inactive” status, and after becoming president he opted to change his status to “voluntarily retired.” Neither of the Obamas was irrevocably stripped of their law licenses through the action of "surrendering" them.

He still has it according to the state that issued it. Where exactly is the miraculous truth only you seem to know coming from?
Also, nobody is watering down the term "professor", that is what the term means, once again, according to the organization that decides what the term means.
I swear, you invalidate any argument you ever had about his qualifications in comparison to past Presidents when you dive off into la-la land like this.

As far as I'm concerned the profession has watered itself down, but I don't really want to get into that.
I'm saying the evidence doesn't support your view, which makes you delusional by definition, please stop.

I've seen several, I am not. You're ignoring the truth. You're being worse than my mother not believing that my friend's brother is banging a teacher she knows. The truth is not dependent upon belief.

an inactive license by request is completely normal and reactivating it is a simple filing process. He still has a law license, it's just inactive. That's reality.

The difference between surrendering your law license or having it revoked and going inactive or retiring is that if you are inactive or retired you can easily reinstate/reactivate your license.

Says the guy who doesn't know the difference between surrendering and requesting inactive status. Look at the license status of almost any current politician former lawyer. The majority are inactive status.

Sometimes when I browse forums I stumble across discussions like this; I feel sad for my country. Education is good - propaganda is bad, Mrrr'kay.
EDIT: The downward spiral of forum politics is commonly lead by Phoenix.Amandarius at the helm of the can't get right ship.

Where are you even getting that he requested inactive status? It doesn't say anything like that. You are just repeating Sylow. At least credit him in your posts with citation.

Perhaps you should post your evidence that Obama lied about passing the bar and surrendered his law license. Or, you can keep being completely full of ***.
I guess we should talk about this:
http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/09/politics/chris-christie-bridge-primer/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
Aside from the obvious, which is that this kind of political payback is disgusting and wrong, I think that this scandal damages Chris Christie's 2016 chances. Over the next few days and weeks we should get a clearer picture of his actual involvement, so maybe I'm off-base and he'll escape unscathed.
Anyone else got thoughts on this whole debacle?
