my biggest problem with this whole thing is... other than the media's typical ***, has anyone actually considered this guy as a viable candidate for 2016? i mean, i get it. he won a typically blue leaning state, granted it was an insanely low voter turnout, and he rode in a helicopter with obama after hurricane sandy. however, this guy has consistently appeared rude, ignorant, and unkempt. who the hell could possibly want this person as their president?
A viable candidate is a bit of an oxymoron, but as far as competition, he's one of the few Republican names right now that has clout on both sides of the aisle. He's got a reputation of not taking crap from anyone and speaking his mind regardless of the backlash. His policies are fairly moderate, even liberal on the social front.
I'd say he's got a shot at making some kind of stab at the nomination at least, though I don't see him being radical enough to get the support of the far right or moderate enough to appeal to leftist and independent voters.
I don't see this scandal having a major impact on his chances in 2016, as they weren't that great to start with, and it's a mostly media-tastic scandal, anyway.
