FFX-2 was genuinely fun
I don't know why people have such an issue with it
I loved the glimpses into the personal goings on of the Zanarkand/Bevelle war

looks great but preffered X anyway with perhaps the best turn based combat system of any FF, nice and simple with turns displayed on the right and quick char changes, if only they stuck with it, if u NA players are lucky they should add in the dark aeons & penance that were only in the international & pal versions.
one of my old ps2 SS's still have my ps2, game, and saves.

Also liked Blitzaball v2. Hated it at first compared to the original, but ***grew on me as I played more and more. Prolly played JUST blitzball for 2hrs a day for the duration of the time I played the game.

The single best thing about FFX-2 is that cutscenes wouldn't give you credit towards 100% completion if you skipped through them.
God, this game is glorious.

X-2 is like candy.
It may not be healthy or truly satisfying, but it's nice for a change. It doesn't constitute a full experience in itself, but it's enjoyable for what it is.

I didn't like X's ending so getting a little closure out of X-2 was nice.
Also, say what you will, but I've come to expect great music from FF games, and X-2 was just ****ing awful in terms of music.

As for the story, yeah it was pretty cheezy. Nothing wrong with that! To be fair, a lot of the early titles everyone loves so much had pretty cheezy stories too. X-2 has character development! :D

Ah I always forget, the menu music: eternal light of yada yada was the only song that stood out

They basically took every complaint that was thrown at FFX, the linear story, too many characters that became useless, the fact that every character became 99% identical to each other, and reversed them.
Surprise surprise, people still complained.

I actually love job systems in FFs as much as the next guy, but ignoring all the story stuff the gameplay in X-2 was basically "set everyone to Dark Knight, get Cat Nip, beat game". I'm not sure if thry fix that in later versions of the game.
Granted you could break ***in V with Time Mage/Normal/Mime or Calculator in Tactics, I don't think either was nearly the level that DRK in X-2 did, and the latter requires a ridiculous amount of grinding to become useful.

A complete remake of older titles would not be as simple as changing textures and such to a higher resolution. FF9 and earlier would require complete graphics engine rebuilds and they'd basically start from scratch minus the story and game content. FFX and X-2 HD remakes are using the XIII/XIII-2 graphics engines most likely.
Companies aren't that stupid when it comes to making money. They probably said "what can we remake, for the least amount of money, and that people will buy making us the most money?" I can assure you even though there is a fairly large fanbase calling for titles like FF6/7/8/9, it wasn't worth their time probably.
and I liked X-2 much more than 12!

I'm partial to the JP version of that FMV, the NA version turns it into an unnecessarily multitracked duet sung by Jade Villalon rather than Lenne's VA (Cree Summer). The JP version puts more of Lenne into it...and it's Koda Kumi singing and as Lenne's VA. Makes more sense.

Sequel joins "Final Fantasy X HD" on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita

We've seen plenty of Final Fantasy X remastered in screens and video of the upcoming Final Fantasy X HD release, but now we have screens that focus on its sequel. Final Fantasy X-2 HD is joining the package on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, and judging from the pics below, it's shaping up pretty nicely.
Both X and X-2 will be included in the PS3 version, but you'll have to purchase them separately on PS Vita. The set is due west later this year.
