So I pretty much said "*** it" and dropped 200 dollars today. I bought a 7770 AMD Radeon graphics card and a TR2 430W Thermaltake power pack for my PC. Ran the benchmark... My highest score on my last graphics card was 2226. This one got...

All his parts are use low power but still o.o i would get a 500-600w to be on the save side.

AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1045T Requires 95W
AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series Requires 500w

So really you'd want 650w + at least

That said, if you have no problems with your rig on the 430w then it's fine ^^.

No idea if lack of power = lack of performance tho (it may tho)

If the GPU is starving on power it can get affected performance. When playing games he could easy have issue with artifact and such. That why it's always good to be on the safe side a get a good psu. Looking at that PSU on newegg if it's the same one seem cheap it would die in no time happen to me on two pc when i went with cheap PSU so i ended up getting two med rage PSU for two of my pc.

I mean he could play years without issue but still there good PSU for 20$ more and have better W.

So ya i agree 650w would be best for any med range rig.

I thought I was going to achieve 7000+ with a GTX 660Ti. Nope! I knew I should have spent another bill on a 670 or gotten a Radeon. Sigh.

The 430W Thermaltake power supply was made to support the 7000 series of Radeon from what I friends told me. I'm not running a super modded self-built computer. I'm just using a store-bought tower. So, except for the graphics card and the new power supply, everything else is off the shelf.

just keep an eye on your temps, besides the stated performance problems you might/will prob see under voltaging can cause overheating. also its not the wattage you need to worry about as much as amperage. i have a pcpower and cooling 470w psu that pushes 36amps @12v, my brother has a 680w ultra psu that only pushes 30amps off the 12v rail. at the time we had the same pc and he has always had probs with his system, mine ran smooth as butter.

Toshiba looks better in my eyes, slightly faster cpu more mem on the gpu and also i believe stronger model the 670 vs the 660 only thing i dont like is windows 8 on it and also i learned that for gaming not good to go with laptops because limited upgrades and hardware performance, also cooling sucks on most. but for the price get more ports like usb and such then the ASUS. Again this was from first glance, just google comparison on the parts also the ASUS doesnt have much detail.

edit: noticed the toshiba has a dvd drive and ASUS a bluray drive so also not sure if it matters to you being able to watch a bluray on your laptop if you travel. but spec wise the Toshiba looks more promising.

from what yoshida has said, yes. if you could run 1.0 then its pretty much for sure you can play 2.0 better.

my benchmark for ARR was over 3 times higher than it was for 1.0 with the same system

-I am looking for an Upgrade to my video card since it was kind of disappointed that I didn't get high enough but my video card has been with me for 2 - 3 years and 2 months ago i did those upgrade to my pc(except my HDD/Computer case/Video card)

so i am looking for opinions which can give me that push to at least 5000 score and better frame rate with price range $130 - $210...it can be more if i really want to finish my gaming pc(my motherboard runs PCI express 3.0 if anything)-

Edit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130825 this one looks good but i don't know if there are other options and cheaper and thanks for the help :3

Honestly Titox you could probably bank a 5000+ if you just tweak your settings. Bump down the resolution to 720 or so (no idea why it doesn't have 1440x900), turn on Occlusion Culling, low detail shadows, and turn off radial blur.

They are things you probably wouldn't even notice and will definitely bump up your score a fair bit. My wife scored a 4k+ with a GTX 440 at high settings on a lower resolution, so you should be fine.

Edit: And in all honesty, I would just spend the extra $100 and go for either a 660 ti model or a 670 if you can afford it. You have the start of a nice rig, so might as well put a nice video card in it. And while you're looking at cards in the $300 range, might wanna check into a Radeon 7950.

So I've never really been a pc fan, always a console guy. well I got a 8063 on 1920X1080 on max settings on my first go. then realized I havent updated drivers in awhile. So I updated the drivers on my gtx670 and restarted my computer and now i get around 7700...

Also I have a second gtx670 in the box unopened and didn't know if i should install it or sell it. FFxiv is probably the only thing ill run on my computer. and i will get ffxiv for the ps3 as well. Also will be buying a ps4 on release and i assume ffxiv will come to that too. (sometime next year i presume). So i think selling the gtx670 is the best choice.

Well i am a console guy too but i like to play FF on max graphic which here will be the PC XD, I am just picky <<; if they release it on PS4 then i will have it there too so i can change between 2 but i doubt it I will buy PS4 in release until they have my kind of games that i usually play(JRPG, Dynasty warriors, Fighting games, Some anime games, etc)

Mostly in my PC...i just watch anime, run PS2/DS emulator, League of Legends, Starcraft 2, little random games, seeing livestream time to time, youtube, and maybe some special sell in Steam

I like to have the best visual/performance when it comes to my Gaming/Anime and multitasking <3...

I'm going to assume that the ps4 can run ffxiv on max setting no prob. the ps3 looks really good already and the ps4 is a lot more powerful. Think im going to just sell my secon 670. but the game looks beautiful!

If you guys are looking for a decent upgrade the 7870 tahiti le cards are back in stock at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484 the coupon still works too PWCHD7850 brings it to around 209. If you don't know what this card is it's basically a low binned 7950/7970 on a 7870 board. would probably recommend having at least 500 to 550 w power supply.

Looks like it just sold out.

I keep getting an error when I open my benchmark. But I also got an error on my computer many years ago when I did the ffxi benchmark and it worked ok. Tried to google the error and I didn't see anything.

Does this mean I can't, no way in heck, run FF14?
