I really need a better graphics card. The best score I got was 2103. :< Would a Radeon 7770 be good? :x I'm working with the pre-installed Radeon 6450 lol

EDIT: System info.
System:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130104-1431)
AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1045T Processor
8191.285MB
AMD RADEON HD 6450 (VRAM 3557 MB) 8.17.0010.1047

As far as the graphic settings for the benchmark,

whats the rest of your pc specs and what your testing it on as far as settings and res?

edit: im not too good at knowing AMD CPU's to know if maybe its your cpu thats holding you back but im using a hd 7970 if it means much to you i hear the 7770 is good but uh best bet is wait on release and actually play the game and tweak the settings cus never know what it might run like on each pc. right now these pics are like epeen ffxi WS shots lol

Posted info. Also, to answer someone's question on how to run it in fullscreen...

Go google ShiftWindow. It fits a selected window to your screen. You might have to run it as admin. on a windows system. I used it on the first FFXIV so I could alt-tab without my PC geeking out.

Sounds like a plan. I might still look at prices and tweak it around.

AMD RADEON HD 5770

1920x1080 on Max settings gave me 2898 performance = Fairly high
1920x1080 on High settings gave me 3705 performance = High
1280x720 on Medium settings gave me 7447 performance = Extremely High

Since the 7770 is stronger than the 5770 it would be more than enough for this game (going by the benchmark alone).

Rezeak - If you lower your resolution a bit, points will improve much.
As far as i tested - shadows and resolution lowering gives best results.

Well the 1920x1080 on high looked amazing anyway, I was using it as a reference for Mizuharu. To be honest, i'll probable play it windowed on 1280 x 720 on med so I'm more than happy ^^.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I dont know much about PC hardware. I havent ran the benchmark yet as I'm at work, but does anyone know if an Integrated Intel HD Graphics card run this game?

I played 11 for 6 years on xbox, but I really want to play 14 on PC. Dont know the exact specs of my pc, but this is what I remember.

Dell Insperion
i5 quad core
8 gb ddr3 ram
1tb hd
integrated intel HD GPU.

If the shitty GPU doesn't run the game, can I put a second GPU in my PC?

You may be able to run it at minimal settings, but I wouldn't count on it preforming well or looking good if it runs at all.

You can add a graphics card to your computer if it has a PCI-e slot, which it probably does.

Thank you for the reply. So if my pc has a PCI-e slot and add a new Gpu, does the PC automaticlly run through the new Gpu or do I have to change settings in the software? Also, does the integrated gpu not get used at all after I make the change?

Sorry for the newby questions. Just haven't done alot of PC tuning.

You download the latest drivers from AMD or Nvidia,

Preferably Nvidia for driver quality but both are fine.

Don't use the drivers on the disc that came with the card.

If you PC is a desktop, you probably do have a PCI-e slot, just need to find out which one. Because there is X1,x2,x3 meaning speed of the card and slot. Windows will assign the new video card are you main and set the other one as backup.

Your video setting will let you choose between the 2 but it can be disable. If you post the model #, we can give you more detail specs of what you can use.

I updated the OP with the chart to interpret the scores.

[7000+]
Extremely High Performance Easily capable of running the game on the highest settings.

[5000-6999]
Very High Performance Easily capable of running the game. Should perform exceptionally well, even at higher resolutions.

[3500-4999]
High Performance Easily capable of running the game. Should perform well, even at higher resolutions.

[2500-3499]
Fairly High Performance Capable of running the game on default settings. Consider switching to a higher resolution depending on performance.

[2000-2499]
Standard Performance Capable of running the game on default settings.

[1500-1999]
Slightly Low Performance – Changes to Settings Recommended Capable of running the game, but will experience slowdown. Adjusting settings may improve performance.

[1000-1499]
Low Performance – Changes to Settings Required Capable of running the game, but will experience considerable slowdown. Adjusting settings is unlikely to improve performance.

[Under1000]
Insufficient Performance Does not meet specifications for running the game.

Ok I was off on the RAM. Here are the specs of my PC:

Dell Inspiron 620
i5-2310 CPU @2.90GHZ
6 GB RAM
64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium
Service Pack 1
Intel HD GPU (blah)

Will probably run the benchmark sometime this weekend just because I'm curious. What are some GPUs that will work with this machine? Will be adding a new GPU and probably will up the RAM at the same time. Thanks for your help guys.

6G of RAM is plenty to be honest. Just crack open your case and make sure you have a PCI-e slot available to put a video card in. And really, it depends on how much money you are looking to spend as far as what card you would like.

Your CPU and very are good but you really need a video card and a atx power supply at least of 600watts.
Check newegg for video cards, the GeForce GTX 560 $200, 570 $250 and the 580 $300 support the PCI-Express 2.0 X16 port.

You have a PCI-Express 2.0 X16 port, you can use PCI-Express X16 video card but not the PCI-Express 3.0 X16 video cards which most of the ATI cards are 3.0.

Usually those video cards required at least 500 watts of power, your PC probably has a 350 watts power supply. You can get a 700 watts power supply for $50 but I would recommend at least 800 watts.

Here are some samples

This is incorrect. All 3.0 cards are backwards compatible to 2.0 (unsure of 1.0, but I don't see why not). It just bumps down your speed a bit.

Akin to SATA II/III.

Also, unless you are running an SLI set up, you rarely need above a 500W PSU.

Thank you, I was always told that the socket will take its version and lower, never higher.

The info on the watts was taken from the card power requirements and my system running a ATI 5770 (400W Manufacturer recommended) would crash when I had a 500W power supply with a AMD Phenom X6
CPU (125W recommended). I had to upgraded to 600W when playing FFXIV 1.0.

I scored so low that the benchmark crashed with a ton of error exceptions.

It could have just told me "0" or "We're sorry, but you're still living with outdated tech."

Just ran it again without a bunch of stuff up in the background and scored a 8444 at 1360x768 (most likely the resolution I will be using). Can't wait to see what the full release will be like, especially if they get SLI to work.

I was never very excited about 1.0, did the beta for it and was highly disappointed.
