There are probably posts here somewhere I missed during my quick search so sorry in case this (or parts of it) have been answered before.
I was wondering if its completely understood how multi attacks (and as an extension of this Daken) work.
There are several possible forms of multi attacks happening in one attack round (let me count Daken here, you ll see y):
- DA/TA/QA
- Mythic AM
- OAX
- Virtue Weapons from Sea (outdated so I wont talk about this in the following)
- Zanshin (only activates on single swing miss so this one is omitted in the following as well)
- Daken
(did I miss one?)
I was wondering several things:
1) Does Daken contribute to 8-hit/round cap? Always thought it does not but realized I dont have any proof.
This is relevant for Nin as with 7 Shadows and Mikage we can easily reach 8-hits/round and not only on these rare double QA procs. So
would be interesting to know if we can actually hit 9-hits/attack round with e.g. Mikage and Sange/Daken.
2) Whats the order in which these multi attacks take effect. I know there is info about Mythic AM (DA/TA/.. before AM right?).
So which goes first? OAX, DA/TA or AM (and eventually Daken depending on contribution to hit cap)?
3) Related to that, the next question how is the evaluation for DA/TA/QA procs?
DA proc? Yes -> ok hit, No -> TA proc? Yes -> ok hit, No -> QA proc? ... (or maybe QA first and then down to DA?)
Or is it evenly distributed?
The point Im tryn to figure out is: does too much DA at some point hurt your dps as you are preventing TA procs?
I can answer part of this IDK where Daken falls in line but
QA > TA > DA > Mythic AM = Oax
Nice Thx~
That answers my last question as well. So it never hurts to add more DA (if you only rely on DA/TA/QA multi hits).
Now Im just wondering if Daken can add a 9th hit.
I doubt Daken can add a 9th hit. Think footwork was tested to not add a 9th hit.
I don't think there is any auto-attack ability in the game that allows you to circumvein the max 8 hits per attack turn cap on physical hits.
I think this limit applies to Weapon skills as well.
Speaking of Daken, does anybody know if there is a built-in ranged accuracy bonus for when Daken procs? Because if there's not, you will not go much further the floored acc on the highest level targets, I'm afraid.
I seem to recall there being a 100+ accuracy bonus on Daken during Sange?

SE said it has a built-in accuracy bonus. I forget if they said it was +100, or if that was derived from testing.
Activating sange with Mochi chainmail and x5 sange merits will net you +100 ratk.
Does Kujaku's haste buff wear off if you change weapons? (how long does it last anyways?)
Was wondering if its worth going for a Kujaku to get haste (in the actual not so rare situation that mages forget that they can cast haste) then WS to immediately switch to Shigi or something to minimize TP loss.
Kujaku is just like the old Oynos Knife, if you remember that. Haste buff of 3min, does not wear off if you change weapons, and will not overwrite itself (have to have haste drop in order to re-apply it).
I can't really imagine the TP loss is worth swapping weapons - better to just bug the mages to freaking cast haste (I know that's sometimes shockingly difficult these days lol).
Ok so Daken DOES have an around +100 racc bonus.
I wonder if Langly included this hidden bonus in his spreadsheet?
Afraid it doesn't and that's why I was getting floored acc on a lot of stuff for Daken.
Eyeballing on very high level targets I'm still noticing a *** of misses when I throw my shurikens with Daken, but we all know how eyeballing can be unreliable so I'll stop here.

The spreadsheet actually does include an racc+100 bonus for throwing, along with a bonus for Sange. I don't think I'm looking at the latest copy so this might have already been addressed, but the latter currently gives a flat +100 as well. Should be 25*(#merits-1).
Alas not possible, it's considered a weapon, so the same rules for MH apply to shurikens/ammo.
Which is pretty lame, because you don't really swap animations sets (which was their explanation for the MH thing).
I recently restarted the game and picked up NIN currently working on relic weapon and I'm really enjoying the job for DD and wanting to go deep into it, the problem I'm having is not really clear on what gear is best in slot and what exactly I should be going on..
I've seen a few gearswaps and some random sets here and there but has anyone updated/compiled a list with current content of what actually would be the best setup in each situation? I looked back a few pages and saw a few gearlists from a few months back are those still accurate? Was talking with ls and they mentioned Adhemar set being pretty nice but all the updates GS none use them is that simply due to age of the file or is it not a focused gear ? Honestly a bit lost.

Wait? Didn't they fix this a few updates ago? I vaguely recall them allowing for lockstyled ranged/ammo slots....
I don't quite remember. Nor do I really recall if it was JUST for the ranged slot.
Ok, bare with me here.. first time I've ever had to fiddle-fart around with a node. I've updated .... SOME bits on page 1.
The node editing page is SO laggy... I lost about 3 versions before I said screw it and threw that up there.
I'll be getting some formatting tips from my buddy Falkirk and will add in some more information later on. Hopefully I can get the WS and utility sets done over my lunch hour... we'll see!
Sadly I'd have to recommend using an external text editor and just using the node editor to preview and push updates. The inevitable slowdown is a huge issue for editing otherwise.

I had to laugh at this. I agree, after losing about 3 drafts (I got quite efficient at changing things up) I just started doing it in Notepad. Yikes.
Okay, I spent my lunch hour at work trying to get a few more sets setup.
I won't claim they're 100% perfect, that's not possible these days with every scenario being slightly different. But I hope this is a starting point for us again.
Please let me know if you see something that needs changing on page1(Node 35).
Acc set has Honed Tathlum, i cant equip that ;;;;;
HA! So you can't. I meant the other acc 15 ammo piece (during the right time of day) the feather. Tengu-no-hane. For some reason my brain thought "HONED"! Or of course, Ginsen. But if accuracy is your goal, tengu-no-hane when it's active.
I bought one NQ will probably buy a 2nd just for my mnk atleast. 5 dex 7 acc seems like a very good choice on metsu and shun atleast, if nothing just for high acc sets.
Just curious as to why none use Jokushu Haidate for metsu or shun setups? Seems like 35 dex is a ton for one slot. I always skip these myself too, but they are 20 dex over our other best options.
I mean that makes sense for sure, but 20 dex is quite a good chunk over samnuha, and herc with dex and wsd are basically impossible lol. The only thing they really lack is acc, but look your using 2x lugra on ws sets for 16 dex. I dont spreedsheet so I cannot say math wise for sure, anyone with better knowledge able to show me?
Jokushu legs also have fairly low STR and no attack. I could potentially see them for Shun on fodder (Samnuha might still win), not sold on them for Metsu though.
