Think of it as.. your character realizes he could have guarded or parried that last attack so he puts the knowledge into his fighting style? >.>

Good news for me and my 100 guard lol yay

Ranger going to be even more godly. Can't wait for the update, though it's going to be annoying to know that I could be shooting faster every day up to the update.

lolno. I know that's somewhat of a logical thought process (like when you get hit your evade goes up. You learn to evade.) but it still sounds like a cop out to make it easier to skill.

Adjustments as small as they can be are always worthwhile.
Relative to anything else this time could have been spent on, though? You need substantial defense buffs just for defense to even start to matter on NMs and we don't really struggle with fodder as is. It's a minor gain at best and I doubt it will legitimately affect merit considerations.

I like how Kiarus thing on his site says he has quit this horrible game yet still hangs around the forums to make stupid comments and make an idiot out of themselves.

The only people complaining about Guard/Parry are the ones who either already have them capped or feel they're worthless. :P

I wonder why the devs feel the need to boost defensive abilities and spelled. Possibly new content that you can't just Embrava zerg coming?

Really, the only one that might be a waste is the protect changes. the other stuff is pretty decent.

Whoa, the last one is pretty crazy. No more pulling teeth to get guard/parrying up.

Also curious if the attribute merit cap will remain 12 or if they'll let you cap a single one all the way up to 24.

To all of us who read the genome threads and worked tirelessly to skill that guard up to cap so we could tank as mnk's in Salvage: We </sigh>!

To SE for finally realizing guard is a pain in the ars: Kudos ~ </cheer>!

While I don't agree with her opinion on this particular subject, a lot of people here don't have active accounts, doesn't really mean anything. We want this game to be worth playing again, sadly, SE has not given us a reason to re-activate in 2012.

All of these adjustments seem to remedy things that are annoying.

My point is, more important stuff is already in development, in the meantime they adjust smaller things. Will requiem adjustment be gamechanging? Not really, but there's a difference between saying "meh, this doesn't change my life" and "no! they shall never fix this spell!"
It's not worth of its own special announcement maybe *shrugs* but it doesn't hurt to have it.
It doesn't excite me either, but fixing something that doesn't work is still better than not fixing it.

The guard and parry skills will be adjusted so that they may level up even if the skills do not activate when players are attacked.

This makes no sense. Handy I admit, but really does not compute.

Evasion skills up if you don't evade; it's just consistency. Think of it as learning from your mistakes.

You don't necessarily need to complete an action to understand the knowledge behind it. As pointed out before, think of it as a moment in battle where your character understands they had an opportunity to guard/parry, thus adding to your skill and knowledge so your character can enact on it in similar situations in the future.

you also get skills for failed synths, think of it as getting skills for failed parries and gaurds.
