Patch is pretty decent. At least from my outdated comp standpoint. My graphic lag got reduced by a lot am almost productive in all fights now which is really nice. Even with the dps losses being able to move at a normal rate balances it out for me at least.
Though the repair bills I think was a tad overkill. Ran act4 hell just to see how bad my lag would be not dying once still hit a 30k repair bill. Was on barb though but still doesn't seem to be a melee friendly.
The new drop system isn't the greatest either. Was in act 2 inferno still getting on average 54-57 items with 5 stack NV. Could be badluck random is random but really think I got two level 60 items in 40 elite kills. Small sample size I know but seriously can I get lvl 60 items in a difficultly that starts at level 60...
The graphic lag being fixed a lot makes me more then happy though for now =).

lightning balls was by far one of the best over all crowd control items for DH until 59 and you could use nether tentacles. Now after this update it is again even at 60 :(
Lost 13.5k DPS on my DH because it was built around +attack speed and survive-ability gear for the most part. 2hand xbow is painful slow now, dual handbows is manageable sort of. I just tried 5-6 times to solo belial inferno -- nope! ~1035dmg 2hand bow, or 2x 750-800 1hand bows and still not enough DPS solo. Eventually the entire floor gets covered in that green crap and you can't avoid it about 1 minute after it rages. Don't think it ever dropped below 50% solo before it went nuts. Just barely won with 2 barbs and myself on DH. Assume it's poison damage and even with very high resists, still does 80-100%+ of my HP :(
Then 15k repair costs for 2 deaths. People saying 50k+ now too, farming inferno going to suck!

Well they said they only really made it melee friendly when grouped up with others due to mob damage not scaling with the amount of people in the room. So if you get a few other melee's, or any other job really, it should reduce the amount of damage you'll take overall.
That's what I got from the notes at least. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me :3

Inferno A2 on my barb and I just had to repair all my dps gear and only lost 22k... Dunno where the *** people are getting ~50k repairs from

He certainly is an attention ***. (Also stream for money, why not!).
From what I read popular LoL players streaming their games make ~2000$ a month.
That's not a lot of money. If they don't have another job, their lives suck.

I think the repair costs ramp up very quickly as you approach iLvl63 gear (starting at level 50 gear I think they said?). So if you have some 55s and what not perhaps it's not so bad. Then again 22k sounds like a ton to me. I just hit 60 last night and was starting to get annoyed with the 2k-3k repair bills I was incurring (and I always wait til yellow or 1 death beyond unless my inventory fills up first).
Some of those nerfs sound strange though. I love breaking objects that almost never return anything, but now they definitely won't. I think I got my first legendary from a pile of rocks, lol.

Same here, first legendary from a random vase. People pay way too much for legendary rings that have extremely crap stats on it. 8m for some legendary ring that had its stats outmatched by a magic ring that you could buy for like 100k if you wanted to.

I live off of about $2000 a month and by no means does my life suck. I actually happen to live pretty comfortably, but I guess things look a little bit different from up there.

Well, I am basing it off of where I live. I make $2254/month exactly, give or take pennies, and I know that's not enough for a single person to have real outside the house fun on around here. Mostly because rent is stupid high.

Also, most pro gamers are still young. They're at an age where 2k/month is pretty damn good.

I just logged on to check a couple things...I had some set pants (only level 31) that I kept around because they had 'increases attack speed by 10%' which obviously didn't work at all. Went to check to see what had become of said stat expecting probably 5% now. Somehow it's now 3%. I thought this was a 50% ISA nerf? Where'd 70% come from? That's the worst offender, but literally every ISA item I had was reduced by more than 50%, usually more like 60% (This is taking into consideration that numbers like 13 after being halved might show up as 6% instead of 6.5%). At least I don't build around ISA, but I did have my Templar loaded with the stuff.
EDIT: Hmm, well the recipe used to say 10-11% increased attack speed, but now says 3-4% if I go to craft it. I guess they made some exceptions.

Just updated to 1.0.3 and D3 lost all my personal settings like video resolution, and even which cinematic scenes I had access to (it replayed the intro and won't let me view anything else). Had this problem since the beta and figured it just reset everything with each build, but this is the first time it's happened with retail.
Did that happen to everyone or do I have some kind of software issue on my end..?

So... 1.0.3 is pretty *** ***. Was hoping it'd breathe a bit more life into the game, but I put too much faith in Blizzard not keeping it as a blatant moneygrab. Disappointing.

Game is fundamentally flawed on an unfixable level. As much as I want to deny it, and many others, the game is clearly designed around the RMAH. Diablo3 reminds me very much of F2p Korean MMO grinders. Negative fun and infinite boring grinds, with their only purpose being to milk you for your money off their cash shop(RMAH).

I personally can't see how it's much different from any gear oriented dungeon crawler. Take that as good or bad, but it fits in perfectly to the genre in my opinion. You keep playing the same crap over and over and hope to get the super rare shiny item(s). Diablo 3 does better than a lot of others in this department simply because there's not one specific best item (or even close) for each type/ slot.
That said, I am annoyed by some of the changes and a bit that this update came when it did. I just got to Inferno tonight and I'd have liked to see the before and after on some things. I only encountered 1 champion group before the servers went down (again) and really...not sure how that could have been worse (though I guess act I stayed the same). Electrified waller jailer knockback bats were rather successful at keeping me from being able to move at all 90% of the time. They also apparently recover their hp quickly enough that the 1/4 or so that I was able to knock off is returned before I can run back to them, lol.

Feel like I've pointed this out countless times now but, RMAH isn't a "cash shop", ala Korean, nay, "K-style" F2P. Blizzard isn't selling you goods. They've simply sanctioned the trading between players of goods and money, money here meaning either a) gold or b) real currency.
D3 isn't even an MMO. I seriously don't know how to take your comment seriously at any level.

Same way people did it in D2, except that it happened over forums then.
Idk if any of you ever used trade forums for D2, but it was basicly the AH, both gold and rl-money wise.

Fundamentally she's right. It's bleeding obvious that the game is designed and balanced around items being shitty to get, so you're forced to buy them from the Ah or RMAH unless you want to spend a dozen years trying to get the drops yourself. You make it seem like Blizzard doesn't make any money off of those microtransactions that they have in on the RMAH.
