the game is broken beyond the point of enjoyment, don't *** tell me that I'm whining and don't have the gear. I rather have hundred thousand baal run than having massive death.

I've heard alot of people say this :( I've yet to finish nightmare so I'm still burning through it pretty good but I heard inferno is nigh impossible.

Just because a game is difficult doesn't make it broken, maybe the challenges involved just weren't intended for you.

Inferno is supposed to be hard, like really *** hard, that's the whole point of it existing. You don't have to play Inferno you know, and complaining about it being too hard is like turning up the difficulty of a game and then saying it's too hard to enjoy.

There are plenty of alternatives as far as things to do in the game if Inferno is a brick wall for you right now. Plenty of side things to look for, achievements, jobs to level, builds to try, and while you are doing that stuff the In-nerf-no patch will be on the way.

You can progress from normal through hell without stopping to farm anything even once. The gold you get just progressing through the acts is more than enough to buy anything you need to complete it comfortably.

Inferno on the other hand is like hitting a brick wall. It's jarring. It's almost as if a 4th difficulty level was skipped and inferno is the 5th. And the gold you've gathered up until then might be enough to buy one semi-decent piece of gear, but if you want to buy the rest you're going to be doing nothing but farming for hours a day.

I realize D2 endgame was pretty much nothing but farming and PvP we don't have yet, so in that respect it's nice to be offered a 4th challenge, and a decent one, instead of none at all. I just don't like the implementation. Having to farm gold so I can buy gear I couldn't possibly farm myself without it is too paradoxically absurd.

Okay, I was aware of that, its just weird it shows the increase in your status window, so I thought thats odd that It wouldn't translate in game lol..

Guess I'll be looking for a weap with added damage% then? Any advice on what to look for for wiz starting hell.

As of now I'm looking for 600+DPS Staff with damage%, life steal or life per hit and or Int / Vit on it.

Hoping I can grab one to last me all of hell, or at least most of it.

IAS works on weapons.
IAS does not work on gear.
ASI works on gear.

They are planning to patch this but not sure how they are doing it.

As far as what you want, get a weapon with as much damage and INT as you can get, I find that Life on hit for wizard is kinda meh unless you get 600+ as most of the piercing/multiple target spells are only getting 11-33% of the life on hit anyway.

I'm assuming this is on inferno, feel free to correct me otherwise. Most people have issues killing the elites on inferno, so they skip them. The rapid leave/join is actually a glitch where you can skip acts and quests.

1) Join a normal single-player game on the quest you want.
2) Leave game
3) Click "public game" and choose the Inferno quest that you just made a single-player game out of.
4) Leave public game
5) Click resume game and you'll be on the heightened difficulty of the quest you joined in single player. (Note: It doesn't have to be multiplayer inferno, could be hell, nightmare, normal, whatever)

This doesn't work, with public games at least. You would have to get on the quest you want to join with a friendlist quickjoin to be able to select the quest you want to do. If you havent played up to the quest you want in single player on your difficulty then you are not able to select it when joining public games.

For example I can not pick "betrayer of the horadrim" for Inferno in either the single player nor the public game lists. I think they patched this last update, the notes mentioned something about no longer being able to skip acts via multiplayer.

If you want I'll stream and do this, I did it today to get down Belial on my DH without clearing anything of A2. Same with Siegebreaker. Both of which I did after the patch.

It's not bad if you know how to play your class. I played a monk and downed Inferno Belial with 300 resist/5k Armor/0 LoH. Once you hit inferno, the game is all about avoiding ***on the ground (Lazers, Plague, Molten, whatever)

If you leave the game and start a different quest, you will lose that quest that you just glitched. However if you want to keep it, simply progress past it a little bit. For instance on Siegebreaker you can kill him and talk to the witch right after him, and you'll have the Siegebreaker waypoint/quest forever because you finished the quest.

I was under the impression that it didn't increase the visible frame rate of the attacks per second but was an additional multiplier for your damage. That's why a IAS item will increase the "damage value". The whole game works around that value too. Instead of getting 1200 health everytime I hit an enemy I will get 3600 every "tic" (i believe they did it this way to combat latency issues or something idfk)but the life returned a tic will actually increase with attack speed regardless of how much you stack. That's why when you wear 300 life regen it only shows like 240 a tic if your internet is good or youll get 600 if its bad (or like 900 after using town portal or cutscene). I think they also did it with the intention of not needing a hard cap on IAS due to framerate....
Attack speed does not increase spell damage in any way, only the speed with which the can be casted. The damage value in inventory screen is simply misleading. The benefit of IAS on a kiting wizard is to be able to perform multiple action quickly (like Blizzard -> Hydra -> Blizzard -> GTFO). Healing "ticks" (the visible +##) occur every 0.50 seconds and add up and healing that occurred within the past 0.50 seconds. If you have 300 regen/s, you will see +150 on each tick.

Do you know of any good spots to farm abusing this glitch?

EDIT: Other than the pots and chests that is lol. You know...nvm me.

I apologize, I tried it again and it works, at least up to the point of getting into Inferno on the quest (I picked heart of sin, I am on Act II) but I can't progress to save the waypoints/quest lol.

I wouldnt mind it my wizard is lvl 53 right now, trying to stick to life regen and life on hit tho so not sure how good that would be for me.

Im guessing weps with good dps AND life on hit/attack speed cost alot more then 25k lol

Rolling with a spectral blade setup in hell right now, does really good for me and saves alot of time that would be spend kiting with blizzard/hydra.

I'm in a similar boat, but in my case my friend who is a terrible player happens to have other friends who have hooked him up with some awesome gear, so he is geared way better.

He keeps "encouraging" me to find better gear because it is "so easy" to come by. Sorry but I didn't have someone else build my gear for me, jerk.

On a completely different note, I really want an Azurewrath even though it isn't super special awesome, I still want it because it looks so cool.

I've never tried spectral blade, but I'm pretty sure it will not work well in inferno. I used disintegrate all the way till act 1 inferno, then switched to blizzard and wondered why the heck I hadn't done it earlier.

Also, if you plan to rely heavily on non-signature spells, try to avoid a weapon with attack speed on it. Attack speed on weapons is already factored into the DPS, but does not increase your spell damage, so you will be overpaying for what is essentially a weaker weapon. When I'm looking for a weapon I just look for a high actual damage (the average of the min/max damage value) 1-hander with lots of int/vit (100+ of each). Life steal is garbage in inferno, and life-on hit is garbage with Blizzard (not sure if it works on hydra) because it is nerfed to 1-2% per hit.

What I always recommend for people just starting hell is a weapon with 200+ DPS. Make sure you are getting vit along with dex on all of your gear as well. Get more Resist-all/Armor when money permits.
