So wait. Are Demon Hunters using shields up in Inferno? That's really kind of funny if so.
Running around with a one-handed crossbow and a big shield, looking like a medieval riot cop. nope. Xbow/bow with quiver. The 1hand xbows don't offer ad much dps as the other two do. (base damage is just lower than most others)
Although. For hardcore, shield is probably necessary but again. Its hard finding a GOOD 1hand xbow

Catnip, is it worth it for a monk to use a 2handed weapon? I've just been trying to hold out for fists/spikes. Don't limit yourself to only fists. Search all 1-handed weapons and you might find a better spear/club/sword/whatchamacallit.

make that few ten millions if you a barb and want to play any co op game at all, even in act 1 inferno ***will murder you in 2-3 hits.
Cleared act 1 inferno as a Barb without using the AH at all, I didn't farm the crap out of hell either (Solo and Coop). In inferno you have to use a defensive build when you are melee, you have no other choice.
But, the difficulty curve for Act 2 is just ridiculous, normal monsters hit 2 to 3 times harder than elites in the Act 1. They are patching that by the end of the month ... so I guess I will try to avoid all fights and just kill bosses. I think I had more trouble with the NQ lacuni and those fast poison-exploding-corpse guys than I did with the elites in act 2. The lacuni have that stupid jumping-lunge animation that makes them invincible while flying at you. They also throw bombs...

If it's people on public channels showing off items, there is a way to "hack" the item url to show amazing stats but it's not the real stats. (Just saw a 13k dps +445% atk speed 1 hand axe) oh ok. that makes sense

If you want to gold farm, There's an easy way to do it in inferno.
Get as much gold% items you can get. Go to act I, kill the quilrat in one of the act1 house basements (you know the mini dungeons you pass by on your way to the old tristem waypoint) The raremob quilrat there can drop 10k gold (with enough gold find) every run. with like a 50%ish chance that the door will be open every game you make. So just kill him, remake game and repeat. you'll be making 3~10k fairly fast in just minutes

Say what you will, But in Inferno, You're a** ain't going nowhere past Act II if You're not using certain skill combos, and unfortunately, Inferno really is the only good place to farm High-End gear... That really is the key difference between D2 and D3.
In D2, While there were optimal Builds, You weren't forced to use any, and you could probably pick any build you wanted and still be able to farm/Beat the game on Hell Difficulty. In Diablo 3, Especially in Inferno Mode, You really have no choice but the "Optimal Build" If you want to succeed.
Have you played Act II inferno or higher yet? In Normal~Hell, Some builds may be viable, In Act II Inferno or deeper? You'll always have the same 4-5 Skills, and maybe 1 skill you can vary based on your taste. Passive will almost always be the same if you're serious about survival or doing anything without dying 1000 times.
There was a lot to talk about, but I think the main issue with D3 is Act 2+ Inferno, so I'll just talk about that.
Yes I've played it on Monk, and I do use Serenity with Repose and Deadly Reach with Keen Eye because they are essentially needed (very OP IMO). But there's quite some other options with the other skill slots. Granted, some abilities just aren't as useful, but depending on your gear you can stray off from using most of the defensive oriented skills. I can't say every rune is useful, but I can say that 90% of abilities can be used successfully in Inferno.
The game is just HUGELY gear based, which depending on how you enjoy these types of games is both a detriment and a great system.

Leon - I used FoT with the dodge rune on my Monk. Trash was faceroll easy, elites I could tank cause of the 16% extra dodge (which added about 10% total to my rating)
Ended up soloing all of A2 including Belial with 5k armor, 24k DPS, 60% dodge (buffed), and ~350 resists.

I tried that, damage mitigation felt much worse, but I only have 28k unbuffed life, which is more than enough until you take more than 1 second of arcane sentry and desecrator and fire chains and molten and plagued, or any combination thereof.

Yea I was ~25k hp when I took down belial. With my build it's all about avoiding all the ***around you, which just takes a little to get used to. It's great for DH-in-training :P

That's why I found Act 2 hard, not much of that until you hit the dungeons, and outside of there... BEES

Think a lot of it just using the maps to your advantage. There are tons of "legit" choke points and no so "legit" design flaws in the maps where you can pin mobs.
Not really sure for mnk haven't really gotten into it but on barb even when under geared(usually when playing a public game with 3-4 people) I can take the advantage away from them by doing this to an extent. Which barb is pretty broken anyways long as your revenge can offset the incoming damage. Plus with my crappy comp and my graphic lag for 50% of the zones it's sadly the only way I can progress short of leaching atm.
Gear helps but skill can be just as important. People thinking they should be able to stand toe to toe and faceroll everything is getting old. What challenge is that? Most people complaining about inferno are generally under geared by a lot and under skilled. Not to say mobs aren't overpowered more so elites/champs but some of it can be taken away with common sense.
My biggest beef is my crappy comp atm. Wanna try hardcore but I know it's pointless until I get a new one. Maybe a couple weeks of overtime or something lol. Also getting friends that know each other's play style can help A LOT if you're not trying to be a pure solo artist. At least from a crowd control point of view.

Bees + Jailer = dead, no matter what. IDK if teleport breaks it? I know 7 sided strike and serenity does, but cooldowns :<

Skill matters, yes, but not as much as gear from what I've seen. Gimps gonna gimp either way though.

Monk - Serenity/Seven Sided Strike
Witchdoctor - Spirit Walk
Demon Hunter - Smokescreen
Wizard - Teleport
Barbarian - Berserk (not nearly as good as the other class' anti-CC, but idk if they have any others)
