Someone help me out. I'm using mnk in inferno with 10k armor, 20% block rate tower shield, 700 all resist with about 80% DR. I sit around 30-40k hp depending on which gearset im using and I still cant hang with half the champs in ACT ONE. Even worse: if i wanna duo with my roommate its a nightmare to kill every group. I literally cant improve my gear unless I increase my life/second from 700 and my life/hit to above 1000 (which is already HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE). It's not even fun to play inferno (or solo which is the only real way i can play) and farming hell for gold is only so fun if buying new gear doesnt make things surviveable.

The legendaries aren't worth getting and the top 5% endgame items are easily farmable in a couple weeks.....so why am I struggling to get through inferno again?

Anyway: what am I doing wrong for gearing monk in inferno.... I have like every defensive stat (oh using serenity, light of heaven, evasion mantra with +armor and the +dodge rune on fists of thunder..... literally as defensive as you can get. Oh and deadly reach on right click for a +damage option).

What's your build?

So... my wife basically took over my PC when she asked if she could try D3 the other day. Thinking I might surprise her and build her her own machine. What do you guys think of this?

i3 - 2120
ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3
MSI nVidia GT 440
Corsair Vengeance 8G (2 x 4G) 1600 MHz
Corsair Enthusiast Series 750W PSU
Corsair Carbide Series 300R Case

The RAM and GPU are both zombie parts under my desk, the rest should only be ~$400. I know it will run it, but dunno if she'd be able to run it on ultra/high settings like I do.

Anything else think I should add? A new graphics card obviously, but it will have to wait (think I may get a 670 for myself and toss the 570 in my PC in this a little down the road).
Could get a 650 wat PSU or even a corsair GS 600. both or which would save $20. I mean the card only recommends 300w so you'd be more than sufficient with a 500w, I just say 600-650 for expansion purposes. 750 is overkill by far though.

I thought about it. But if I ever plan to upgrade and make it nicer I would probably end up having to get a new PSU if I went that route.

The 750W is available for $100 right now, so I don't see why not. Especially if I do end up sticking a 570 in there.

I would assume Athene if he isn't all ready pushing 300k+. He was over 200k before he got hacked and his new gear is even better. But unless like said earlier you have people farming/handing you gear/gold that grind for the average player prolly isn't that reasonable. Doable but not likely without spending some cash in a realistic time frame. Even worse with this increasing inflation.

But if you can farm farm farm it's always possible. Saw a vid earlier of a barb all ready up to 2M crits. Just shows how gear is overpowered if you know how to stack it right.

*edit* Also sadly by the time you could get a comparable set it will be nerfed lol. One of the downfalls of these guys streaming.

So is Diablo 3 good? I played Diablo 2 but I never beat it because I was just playing it because the person I was fawning over was playing it and he was super pro at it and I was super noob and we tried to play together and I just had no idea what was going on.

Think it depends on your perspective. personally I'm finding it amazingly lackluster atm since the entire game is basically farm gold -> buy gear off of AH -> try to beat Act II~IV Inferno.

You'll still probably get 60+ hours out of it though. It's worth the money if you like the dungeon crawling lootfest-style gameplay.

Meh, this is something you can get addicted to rather easily, and there's no subscription fee. I'm personally using it as an outlet until Guild Wars 2 comes out.

Worth noting that the minute possibility of making money off of the game will present itself some time in the future, as they're implementing an Auction House that uses real life currency rather than in game currency.

Just depends if you like grinding and repeating. Game play is pretty simple. 4 acts, repeated for 4 different difficulty levels. Then your choice of repeating it on another job or gear farming. PvP in the future, and I am sure expansion to but for the most part its just as stated grind and repeat.

Decent story, short though, and even with killing every mob, breaking every box, exploring every dungeon, game play total is maybe 40-50 hourish? Excluding grinding gear etc.

I have fun with it but mostly because it's something new to me atm but is all ready losing my interest. Try it though if you have the extra cash with patches coming and hotfixes here and there it's at least becoming a more friendly gaming experience.

Honestly i was a little disappointed with this game for how long a wait there was... it just seems short...

And i find after i beat it on normal I'm just rushing through/leveling up in nightmare/hell to get to inferno to beat it in hopes of an expansion...

I dont do php and I'm not the type of person who can farm inferno as some sort of fun end game...

so after the initial first run-through of normal the game is basically a repeat on 3 harder difficulties. If i didn't play with my cousin i don't think i would of enjoyed the game much, was way too easy and short.

D3 isn't an MMO, I think some people are taking it like one.

I got an easy 80+ hours of extremely enjoyable gameplay before I've started cooling down (still play an hour or so a day usually).

More than skyrim, more than pretty much any non MMO.

I don't think very many take it like an MMO, I think the problem is the Developers/Director tried to MMO'it without making it an MMO.

I have quite a few issues with the game, the least of which is how idiotic Rage timers are on a wholly Singleplayer/Co-Op style game... But in the end, I feel Diablo III suffers from laziness.

Removed Jewels, Charms, and Runes... White Weapons/Armor have 0 Reason to exist, mostly because of the removal of Runes... The Skill tree and removal of Stat allocation (Minor issues, but this is mostly my love of D2 talking anyway).

Fun game, But I'll probably Install Diablo II again before i devote any real hours to Diablo III, D2 just feels more fun. Diablo 3 Will catch up in a few patches/updates i'm sure, But 10~ Years in the making, it just feels like a game that was cooked up over-night.

Edit: But at others have said, Games fun for what it is, But I don't see many people investing months/years into playing it like they did with Diablo II, at least not until a few months in when they work out a lot of the issues/bugs.

Diablo 3 was fun, but they need to be working on balance asap.

The game did feel a little lazy for all the hype. I liked it, but I don't think I'll buy another Blizzard game. I was burned with Starcraft and the whole region locking... I'm feeling even more irked with all the endless errors with Diablo 3.

this picture still reigns true.

Yeah I agree it's not a MMO but with the forced online play "to prevent cheating, item coping, hacks, etc" gave it that MMO vibe for some. But even as a rpg or w/e it's classified as I think the intro content was lacking. Video storyline is what like an hour? maybe.

Character customized options don't exsist. You're a guy or a girl. Gear is meh with a small option to color your gear and randomly a gem.

Then the over hyped skill sets. Sure you can use several randomly calculated choices but honestly most find and use the same skills throughout game play. Short of switching things around maybe for single target and multi-target. Like on DH I can just rapid fire with slow and traps if it gets bad and faceroll about anything. Same with barb cleave, revenge repeat.

Just waiting for this next patch to see how inferno plays out and the real money AH should be entertaining. With everyone thinking they will make thousands selling stuff which I see just turning into a massive undercutting war. Which maybe good for those that are buying lol.

Why is it that every time I've watched this Kripp guy's stream, he's been doing the Zulle exploit, or exploiting Goblins, or having people farm for him? Why is he so idolized? I may be missing something, because I just don't get it.

Thing is too is that he's playing Hardcore... but not playing hardcore. He died, and took 2 hours 15 mins (most of which not even done by himself) exploiting Zoltun Kulle to get back to lv60, and now he's exploiting Treasure Goblins and other people to gear back up... what the *** is the point? He's playing it like it's some MLG tournament or something, which he's already lost, and trying to pump himself up to look badass when in reality he's just a dumbfuck.

So, he died and his friends helped him get leveled back up faster using some trick. It's not as if he is doing anything that is unavailable to any of us.

As far as goblin exploit I'm not sure what you mean exactly. If you mean using the hook thing to keep them from teleporting and keeping them cornered to kill them faster then that is just tactics.

I don't mean to defend him for cheating, but I feel the same way as I did about neo-nyzul cheating (after being talked out of my rage) and that is that his cheating in no way affects me, if anything it shows me some exploits and tactics I can take advantage of.

I think the "Goblin Exploit" has something to do with Act 1 in Tristram(?), where theres a Cellar that spawns occasionally that will have a Treasure Goblin inside (not 100% Chance), People generally farm this over and over for easy loot.

This may have been patched though, and he may be talking about another one.

So what if everyone can do it? What's the point of playing hardcore if he's just going to bypass levelling and gearing completely?

He isn't just hooking the goblins, he's having himself and other people make separate games, port to a waypoint, see if the goblin is there; if it's there, all 4 people join that game and they kill the goblin. Repeat ad nauseum. From what I've gathered he has multiple teams of people doing this for him.

The fact that the guy is being so highly praised (not particularly in this thread), despite the fact that he's just some random *** who isn't even playing the game, is annoying as piss.

Also Carrera is *** hot.

Indeed she is.

I dunno, I guess I just ignore his cheating for the entertainment value he provides. It's like watching sports when you know they are using steroids but who gives a *** because it's more fun to watch that way.

I try not to get mad/jealous about it because it's not like I ever intended to be top tier or to be worlds first anything, hell I got the game a week after it came out. I'm pretty content with being the best out of my small circle of friends who play, and I honestly will probably never even play hardcore unless I get the achievement fever again.
