Prothescar's BLU guide, which is stickied on the BLU forums, contains tons a useful information and tips for people who are new to the job & even for people who have played it for a long time. I would say you should give that a read through if you havent already. Most likely, the problem with your Heavy strike-oneshot situation is that you arent using a gearset for STR based spells. For heavy strike, its very useful to have a set focused towards 1st STR 2nd accuracy(physical not magical). Im sure youve heard this before, but if you seriously enjoy BLU I highly recommend working towards in Almace. It literally changes the way BLU is played. By the way before I add some useful gearsets, do you do VW occasionally or do you stay away from that event?

Planning to take BLU in for dynamis once I finish Almace and get my TH sash, was looking at Osmosis vs Magic fruit for curing, assuming Anrin Obi and Twilight cape, which would be better? Or make space to set both?

Thinking on doing my first dyna run as BLU tonight. I usually go as BST to qufim and I manage to get around 150 total in currency. I know that amount is low compared to what most people usually get which is around 200, but I find myself most of the time fighting for EP mobs which is a pain.

My BLU is far from well geared. I do have Almace 85 and the Fire Shikargar. I also have all spells listed in Prothescar guide for dynamis. This is my current TP set:

For what I read, I need a hybrid eva set for a decent dyna run, which I don't have. Besides maybe swaping boxer's mantle and evasion torque, I don't have anything else. How much would that hurt my run? What can I add from AH that can help me improve my evasion?

From my experience of doing a couple of bubu runs on BLU, unless you're fighting more than 1 mob at a time you won't need an evasion set, even a hybrid one, u can stun lock the mob you're currently fighting and sleep the rest anyway.
This is the set I use

Got super bored after i got off work as decided to frak around in Dynamis Bubu~ as Blu/rdm. I had basic blu/rdm solo kit spells set for TH, TA, Fresh, etc and went for magic procs. BTW First time in Dyna as Blu besides trying to learn quadrastrike.

only used 3 spells: Sudden lunge, heavy strike and Dia. Though I used the AOE flash spell and Dream flower a few times on links.

Count was total of 75 pieces. Mind you I was half literally falling asleep on my chair. Took two 2-3 min smoke breaks and left 14mins early. That and i ran across the whole zone twice looking for 20min statue.

My Blu is still pretty much Abyssea geared only with 2x -pdt swords. Nothing Fancy. And I think for magic procs given the circumstances I think I did fairly well. I'm sure I could have broken 100 if I were more alert and took no breaks.

procs weren't that bad. I'd say a handful of mobs proc'd on the initial pull. Most took around 15-20 Dia. Problem was I was killing to fast before I got a some the mobs proc'd. Dream flower mostly proc'd the mobs targeted by once it proc'd a mob that wasn't targeted. I tried Diaga spam on 3 crawlers and got nothing.

Next time I'm gonna go blu/dnc. But was nice to see what magic proc was gonna be like.

For Dynamis(I figure thats where you plan on using it), I usually go with this. Its definitely not best in slot for a lot of the gear, but my inventory likes me for being slightly conservative. Easy to get stuff besides the body, but Praeco is probably better.

This is pretty much true in my experience as well.

I do swap to and carry a partial eva set when i need to tank dyna NMs (since I delta thrust them then turn and backtank until i get a proc) which is aliyat chakram/Kacura+1 legs+feet and athos body.
Its still worth bringing a couple quality evasion pieces for those times dream flower is down or you get links/doing TE's in tricky spots.

I just realized there were some new posts on this thread. I kind of abandoned the game after SoA, I got frustrated with all the elitism of the game, where ppl get invites only if they have the best gear and sometimes they even get AFK during events...

Anyway, this new login campaign thingy brought me back to the game, if only to get myself an Ark Scythe! :) I don't have ninja past 50 yet, but it'll have Shadow of Death once I level it!

I'm working towards my Almace. I still need 20 Helms and 43 Skins, but I suppose that Sobek is much easier than Briareus: smaller KI farming area with much less walking, seals and +2 drops which makes it much easier to find a proper group. And since it's not as camped as it once was, shouldn't be too complicated.

I've helped people spam Orthrus and Sobek and Apademak so many times before, both as THF and BLU so that they could get all the procs. I got tons of +2 like that, whilst they were getting their weapon upgrades. It's a shame now that Briareus is such a pain to get the KIs and then doesn't drop anything significant to help gathering a group.

I tried Dyna Xarcabard as BLU/dnc a couple of times and the number of drops was an utter disappointment. I get much more as solo BST or THF. And still I get much less than what people advertise. I'm lucky if I get close to 100 per run. I seriously think that all the people saying that they get 200+ are just liars. I met some other THF soloing in Valkurm the other day and he said he got almost 200 solo. I was duoing with a BST friend and we got maybe around 170 total. I had a chat with this THF, trying to learn his ways and the only main difference was that he had a non-DD set until he procced, then he'd swap to his DD set. He didn't even bother with getting his TH set on. He used a relic dagger, but only after proccing.

I guess now people are all geared up to the teeth with Delve gear. Any newly updated gear sets with the new pieces? I see that Brutal Earring and Suppa are now museum material :)

i don't see how anything from soa kills brutal suppa combo for blu, unless you can get 5dw and 5da by wearing 2 sets of earrings.

Brutal+Suppa is still the king for dualwielders.
Might be a few exceptions I guess, but in general they're still up top
