Not really a superstition but as soon as one person has answer the door, do laundry, wife aggro or child aggro everyone 10 min you will see someone else say that in an aby xp party.

Personally, my own little superstition (ritual might be a better word) is when I'm learning spells on BLU, I try to always land the killing blow with a multi-hit spell, preferably bludgeon. I just seem to learn moves a lot more on the first time when I do that instead of meleeing it or killing it with a WS. I know it's silly and probably has no actual basis to it, but it just feels like good luck to me.

Iv noticed that as well. Not 100% or anything but i seem to learn better when i land the finishing blow with blu magic

I do that too, but the real answer is that we do it because we are too lazy to manually swap our skill+ gear, so we auto swap them by using a spell, its a hidden effect :p

I know you're joking, but if I'm learning a spell, I never take off my Magus Jubbah and Bazubands for WS/TP gear. I just leave them on so I don't forget to swap back. So basically I just select everything from the menu. I told a friend about it, he went something like 0/5 on heat breath from manticores and I said, "Kill it with a multi-hit spell." He learned the first time he did it. Obviously could just be a coincidence, and I could just have wonderful luck, but I typically go 1/1 on a spell if I finish it off with either Bludgeon, Frenetic Rip, or Disseverment. If I melee the mob to death without a multi-hit spell killing it, I almost never learn it until the 5th+ time.

Another thing I've noticed, which again is probably just randomness, is that there seems to be a distinct window of +learning right after a mob uses a spell I need. If I kill it within 3-4 seconds after the animation ends, I usually learn it. If I take more time than that, or if the mob uses a TP move again (be it a different one or the same one) I usually don't learn, unless it's from an NM.

Most superstitions/rituals in XI make me scoff, but when it comes to BLU learning, which can be a painful process, I stick by mine. Whether it does anything or not, can't hurt to continue.

This is probably why I don't gamble....

If I'm farming something, popping a lotto nm, synthing, etc (basically anything that has to do with random number generation) I will stay working on it for hours longer than originally anticipated because I am convinced it will ALWAYS BE THE DROP/POP AFTER I LEAVE. I always feel like the dilarahm's sollerets were in the next chest after I logged; now that I passed them I have to go through another 100 pops before I'll get them (and I'll probably log the kill before they drop again).

Neurotic, I know.

I wasn't joking xD its actually what i do lol
My AF hands are in storage since i finished learning all the spells back at 75, didn't used them at all since then.
And i just used to kill the mobs with a physical spell to autoswap some skill gear so i'm in skill when the mob dies, just for lazyness.
I bet that superstition started by someone being lazy too lol

Well since i don't bother switching to skill gear upon killing... my superstition still stands.

When Camping Lottery pop mobs on a timer, I used to kill all/most the PH's even during Cooldown, because it seemed like it made the NM pop faster in it's window.

Stealing a Morille Mortelle from a Solo SCH at 3% results in 100% drop of Spurrer Beret. Otherwise it's 1/10~ (THIV)

I keep my inventory visible when craft so I can see the result before the synth ends.

I also always craft in batches of 12.

Long time ago, THF getting the killshot was a common demand.

4 leaf mandy buds and a wild* rarab tail to increase treasure hunter!

Jaggedy Eared Jack dropping the rabbit charm being a myth.

The years 2004 and Lu Shang's Fishing Rod Cannot Be Broken EVER
no way fishing up 10 million moat carps can be broken AMIRITE!?

SOMETHING SOMETHING SOMETHING if you use all your 2 hours at the start of Absolute Virtue it stops him from using them in the fight. Bring your mules!

If your alliance wiped on the way to Byakko, it probably wasn't going to drop the Haidate. (It probably wasn't even if you didn't wipe on the way there).
Especially if you are the next on the points list to get them.

BST being useful in end game. And I need Raise III onry please.
(Older players will get this and unique players).

The Kirin porter must be broke.

Labyrinth of Onzozo has a Devil Manta that no matter what the circumstances, cannot be charmed for longer than 1.5 seconds. MUST BE SUPER MANTA! Or a glitch..... no wait probably super manta. (Not the PH for LoO).

Always Leeroy Jenkins Dynamis when in doubt.

Can someone explain the Ebon Panel mystery to me? As I understand it, Ebon Panels are not mysterious and never were. Do you not trigger the Ebon Panels to clear your emptiness and recieve the title "Warrior of the Crystal" in CoP 8-3?. I NEVER understand why people thought Ebon Panels had no purpose, unless I'm wooshing hard here.

Walkthrough

Retrieving your light:

First, you need to climb to the fourth floor of a specific tower in The Garden of Ru'Hmet, which are located in the five points of the map.
Each tower corresponds to one of the five races.
Light of Mea - Elvaan.
Light of Dem- Mithra.
Light of Holla- Tarutaru.
Light of Vahzl- Humes.
Light of Al'Taieu- Galka.
This can be done solo, or with your party, but each person will need to get to the top of their corresponding tower.
Once at the fourth floor, check the Ebon Panel for a cutscene and a new title

Band of Dawn and Twilight:

You next need to go to the central area of The Garden of Ru'Hmet

Back during Cap 75 during a Dynamis run I jokingly did an emote
/em dances for AF2.

Luck would have it that the next pull dropped some AF2 gear, for the next 2 years people were having me use that emote at the start of each pull.

1. If our NIN tank dies in Abyssea we get more/better drops.

2. If TH8 procs we get decent drops.

3. If TH9 procs we get ***drops, unless tank dies, then it acts like TH8.

4. If TH10 procs, tank and WHM dies, we get no drops.

5. If TH11 procs, server crashes, everyone WTF's at the same time world wide.

If I don't get a skillup after ~10 crafts in a row or get a bad streak of breaks I wait until the next vanadiel day.

I don't believe in crafting directions but I do move my character slightly and face it randomly in another direction a little bit when I have bad luck to 'shake it off'.
