That's why you camp ***like that during downtime when you wouldn't have been doing anything else anyway.

Got 45 minutes to kill between VW shout ending and LS event? Go kill Goblintrap PHs.

Goaftrap is pretty much always up these days, so going to kill it takes a charge on your Safehold Earring and 5 minutes of your time.

With as much time as people spend doing nothing in Port Jeuno, all attempts of labelling things with opportunity cost in this game are inherently flawed.

Yes, you COULD have been doing something to make money. But, most of those things are tedious, limited to once per day or once per 3 days, require at least one other person, or have a high time investment, and most people aren't doing them all the time.
That's a rather hefty blanket statement there. I don't know about you, but if I'm afking in town/moghouse I'm literally afk and only checking my ffxi window every 15 minutes tops unless I get a tell.

As opposed to holding onto the two drone earrings? same inventory space more AGI...

As fast as people respond to VW shouts, I get the impression that everyone is just standing around always waiting for something interesting to happen :P

Preferable course of action is to hold on to neither. A dedicated Benthic Typhoon set is a waste of space until they add a spell with an AGI mod that's worth the gear.

I thought the point of the post was to give suggestions on the gear the OP already had?

Suggestion: drop the benthic typhoon set. Use the gear that you already have and use for other things and don't waste space on a spell that does not share a common modifier with other spells and is only really useful* for its added effect.

Made the thread like a month ago or something. I actually no longer have the BT-specific gear I listed. Never even set it so just sold the gear for it. Didn't have inventory room for it. This was mainly made for a general discussion anyway, not just to comment on my sets.

BLU easily overflows inventory even without wasting slots on AGI earrings. Practicality is very much a valid concern when making suggestions. BT is especially susceptible to this considering that it has an unusual mod and isn't exclusively used for damage.

Aye, my main inventory, part of my satchel, and my mog sack all hold BLU gear, well over 100 pieces, probably around 120~140, but I'm not counting it. That's essential sets only.

Why not you should be using Amorphic spikes for Sc anyway no point in Bt other than the added effect. Not enough of a reason for me.

TP, CDC, Sanguine Blade, Requiescat, STR [STR+DEX, STR+VIT variants], INT+MAB, MND+MAB, Cure potency, PDT, MDT, Evasion [Hybrid and Full EVA variants], Elemental staves, several types of swords, random assorted piece of gear to plug into other sets or for things like Stoneskin and Phalanx.

Use to carry breath gear, but stopped doing that when casting breaths stopped being fun again.

Assuming you're as tight on inventory as I am, what do you put away when you want to carry your evasion sets? With TP, CDC, STR/DEX/VIT, Cure potency, and PDT I'm sitting at like 78/80 and I don't know which I would sacrifice for an evasion set.

I believe windower made "Itemizer" just for BLU mages cause God knows it was long overdue for us to be able to have our gear auto jump from Satchel and Sack mid casts.

I carry either eva or pdt never both just know which will benefit you more on which mobs.

I usually force myself to choose between PDT and Evasion, but in the situations where both are absolutely integral I'll keep both out. Usually just TP, CDC, STR(and variants), Cure potency, MDT, and Eva or PDT. Stretches inventory pretty thin, but it's workable.

The conal AoE allows you to deal damage very effectively if you're dealing with multiple fodder mobs. BT, WoR, and Empty Thrash become very efficient in these situations.

Doesn't really afford the space for a dedicated set for a single spell. Does enough damage in the, er, somewhat feasible situations? Where benthic would be used more than what it's actually useful for without overextending an already crmaped inventory to accommodate more gear than is already being carried. A lot of TP and spell gear that you'd use for other pieces are more than adequate.

I agree, just pointing out that it does have a use besides the add effect.

You're probably going to find yourself sacrificing in individual sets rather than removing an entire set. I can just barely fit idle, base TP, base CDC, physical, PDT, MDT, nuking minus staves/obis/Twilight Cape, cure, and hybrid eva gear into my inventory all at once if needed. I've elected to forego maximization in certain sets though; for instance, my CDC set still uses Rancor Collar and Atheling Mantle instead of Moepapa + Rancorous. Anything beyond that (multiple meds, full eva, full MDT, full nuking gear, Requiescat gear, etc) cramps my inventory, but I can usually identify a set that I can skimp on at that point. Nyzul is going to be hell on my inventory though.

How do you fit all of those sets at once o-0 even skimping on non-absolutely-essential pieces I don't think I'd be able to do it. Evasion or Nuking maybe, one or the other, but both in there with the rest of it all?

I have 5~8 free slots at maximum with my idle, tp, cdc, physicals, cures, pdt, mdt sets (along with whatever other utility pieces, fast cast and whatnot) out in my inventory. Honestly would not be able to do it. @@

To be fair, I choose a lot of Hybrid gear over the more effective options we have now.
Only sets I tend to keep up to scratch are tp, cdc and str, I should really be capping my pdt set too, but havn't got around to it :x

The rest is for I guess mnd for fruit, int/mab Nukes, but this stuff is latter to me for now, and I don't carry so much of it with me anymore.

List differs slightly from my actual inventory, but not in any way that would reduce the item count. That comes out to 77 items if I didn't miss anything, 78 if using Mantis Eye + Mavi Tathlum instead of Aliyat Chakram. I usually keep Wiglen Gorget on hand, so 78/79 I guess.

EDIT: Son of a ***, I even double checked my inventory but I forgot about my pearl.

Ah, some discrepancies in our utility sets and a couple other pieces that I keep in my inventory. Also like having 5 slots open for drops, medicines, etc.
