Is this stuff already implemented? Only on test server? In an upcoming update? These Dev Updates will always be test server updates, they won't be added until next month's version update maintenance at the earliest. Oh, ok. Cool. So is it for sure that this stuff will be in the Version Update? Unless they change something during player testing then it should be the update we get in late March. Wooo~ this is starting to look really good :D Did you read the community rep notes from yesterday?

I did =]
That, and the addition of what you just posted really has me excited for this event again =]
Edit: I jacked that up, lol. It's late, and I'm lazy enough to not care about fixing it, so I just deleted it. :p
If you don't know what I'm talking about, lets just leave it that way ^^;

So...
Kill floor 80 1x, get a random +2 armor (or +2 armors) in pool
Kill floor 80 5x get key item to get specific +2 armor (plus the drops in pool)
Kill floor 80 25x get key item to get specific HQ armor (Plus drops in pool from 25 runs, plus 5 specific +2 armors)
Is that how theyre changing things?

Kill floor 80 1x --> get whatever +3 drops in pool.
Kill floor 80 5x --> get KI to trade for +3 of your choice.
Kill floor 80 25x --> get KI to trade for floor 100 drop of your choice.

No, you'' have to cheat once to get to floor 100 and get a piece of gear. Or not cheat at all ._.
I'm not sure why people can't understand that SE said:
"As a general guideline, the system has been balanced in such a way so that once you have gotten used to it, you should be able to reach floor 60. If you try really hard, you can get to floor 80, and then if luck is on your side you will able to reach floor 100."
It's exactly like VW, but instead of a RNG deciding the fate of what you get in the box a RNG decides how far/fast you progress in floors.
Players are impatient and don't like to loose and waste their time, so they cheat. I think SE will give in in about 3-4 weeks after players are still unable to reach floor 100 out of 20 tries and more players are giving in to cheating.

So in other words, unless SE changes it, you'll have to cheat to have any reasonable expectation at beating Nyzul 100.
Even with cheating, we've had one floor 100 clear thus far!?

Like I said before, players don't like to loose over and over just to waste their time. So SE will probably make it easier to by adjusting how far you can jump or extending the time 5-10 minutes.

Thats not what the official dev post says~
I'm not expecting, and neither is anyone else, to hit fl 100 every time, but its crappy how "luck" based it is, screw luck.

The stopper is a huge boon for people shooting for 100, 80, or whatever the goal is. Personally, I would probably try to shoot for 100. It will probably be about as hard to get to 100 post-stopper as it is to get to 80 now, and people pull off 80-runs pretty regularly.
The "we reduced the price of temps" thing is nice (as someone who blew 150k tokens on wyrmseeker not long ago) but that combined with the Alexandrite drop rate doesn't say much for SE's intent to make Mythics easier. They could have increased the token drop rate, but instead they decreased the price of temps. Alexandrite seems to drop in cottons off floor 20~80 bosses and linens off floor 100 bosses only.
If SE was going to nerf the difficulty of Mythics, they were thinking of the sum total up to 99 (3x PW, killshots, and a few salvage runs are easier than the other options) and factoring in their ZNM pop-item changes and increased event frequency heavily. I wouldn't expect higher alexandrite drop rates off Salvage v2, but more people would do salvage again if the gear rewards were worthwhile, etc.
PS. I didn't see it reported here, but someone killed the floor 100 boss and got Thaumas hat/legs (I want them so bad! D:) and a Linen.

Quote: Players who defeat the NMs that spawn on floors 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 five times will be rewarded with a key item corresponding to that section.
Kinda lame that you have to beat 100 5x for a piece of gear when they said they intended to make it so beating it once would get you one piece of gear.

They also said that that mechanic and the one where you can trade 25 (floor) kills for an item that drops from (floor+20) won't be implemented this week because they thought of them at the last minute, but they'll be in the next test server update.

It's relevant because as far as I know they are adding it, just not until the next test server update is all. They had worked out the mechanics that did end up getting put in, but decided to add on to them and revise a couple things at the last minute (like 1x 100 kill = drop of choice) so they went ahead and told us about those changes but said they'll be an update behind (on the test server that is).
EDIT: Also the stopper feature is not implemented yet. It's all in the notes 2 pages back.

Sorrowful Sage: Will increase player token count to a minimum of 10,000.
Runic Portal: All destinations will be available.
*All teleport destinations will also be available when speaking to the Moogle GM or the NPC Sharin-Garin.
*The unlocking of teleport destinations will not be accompanied by a system message.
- Apply for the mission as you would a standard mission, then enter the battlefield from the Nyzul Isle staging point.
*Nyzul Isle missions occupy a unique position in Assault. You will not be able to manually set level restrictions, and no Assault Points will be gained for successful completion.
[Test server only]
- For testing purposes, players will be able to attempt the mission solo. (The corresponding text will still make reference to the 3-6 party member requirement.)
However, certain mission objectives may not be completed with fewer than three players.
- After entering the battlefield, use the Rune of Transfer on the initial floor to select your destination.
*Adventurers undertaking the Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region mission will always begin from the first floor, regardless of their progress. Before transporting to your destination, obtain any temporary items you may need from Vending Box.
- Upon arriving at your destination floor, examine the Rune of Transfer to receive your mission orders.
*Certain objectives may not be completed when undertaking the mission with fewer than three party members.
- Upon completing the mission objectives, examine the Rune of Transfer to proceed to the next floor, or suspend the operation and return.
- Proceeding
After completing Floor 100, you will be returned to Floor 1.
- "Travel to Floor ###" will transport you to the next floor.
- "Travel to Floor ???" will transport you to a random floor.
- Returning
To return, select "Exit the Assault area."
You will be rewarded with Nyzul Isle Investigation tokens.
*Tokens will not be awarded to players leaving via magic spells or time limit expiration.
We are also considering measures to prevent overcrowding.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. |

| Sorry for the late announcement, but with the recent test server update, we have added/changed the below to Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region.
Added option to take a single item or all items when obtaining temporary items from the "Vending Box"
Made change so that when you reach each floor, the objective for that floor will be automatically announced
Adjusted the amount of tokens received
Added Alexandrite to the possible rewards
※The option to take all temporary items as well as the automatic announcement of floor objectives has been changed for Nyzul Isle Investigation as well.

| I would like to announce some congestion measures to go along with the implementation of Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region.
As a way to alleviate the congestion after the implementation of this content, we will be establishing a cool down time before you are able to receive the same assault tag once you finish Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region.
※This cool down time will only apply when trying to repeat Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region and will not affect Nyzul Isle Exploration or other assaults.
Currently we are planning for a 30 minute cool down at first; however, if congestion ultimately is eliminated we are planning to implement a system where we can get rid of the cool down time.
While we understand that it may be a slight inconvenience for those of you who would like to play this content over and over, we would like to give a chance for a large number of players to enjoy this content even during busy times and we appreciate your understanding.
We will also be looking into other means for congestion countermeasures.
02-03-2012 05:05 PM | Bayohne | Community Rep
| One option to counter congestion would be to systematically manage the order of entry — Specifically, an idea we had was that when there is a request, the order will be looked up to reserve an entry time, but we ran into the following issues:
As a specification for assaults, the entry times are shared with other assaults
If Nyzul Isle areas were used in missions and such, the reserved entry time is not guaranteed
If the area is bugged, the reserved entry time is not guaranteed
As a result, we cannot provide a reliable entry time, so we decided against this idea.
It would be best if it would be possible to fundamentally eliminate congestion and we are continuing to look into ways to do this. However, finding a simple solution is easier said than done, since all of our options require a complete overhaul of the server program, which will take a long time.
We feel that not releasing new content for several months while the server program is being reworked would be a bad result for everyone involved, so we will continue to search for a fundamental solution, while we make slight adjustments as necessary to alleviate server stress. One of our temporary solutions is the idea shared in this post.
With the current waiting time setup, we are aware of the fact that players may still have to reserve a time even during non-congested times and we decided to make the waiting time system flexible, so that it is only applied when the area is congested. We are doing our best to take in player feedback to provide the least stressful playing environment possible, so we hope you understand the reasoning behind our current direction.

| Greetings!
Thanks for all the feedback thus far. We've submitted it to the development team and will try and get some comments for you as soon as we can.
After monitoring conditions for a couple days we will be removing the 30 minute wait time after completing a run of Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region from today.
We will be keeping an eye on the situation and depending on conditions we will be looking at either getting rid of the wait time or returning to the 30 minute wait time.

| As a follow up to my previous post, I received some information from the development team in regards to the overall concept of Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region as well as planned adjustments.
Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region Concept
Just as was mentioned previously, Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region is battle content that is geared towards a 6 person party of level 99 players.
In contrast to Nyzul Isle Investigation where the strategy revolved around 5 floor increments, Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region’s degree of challenge has been set quite difficult. This is also the reason why every time you enter you start from the first floor. We’d like players to set their floor goals based on their strengths, meaning a combination of level, gear, knowledge, and experience.
In order to progress further, in addition to fire power and battle strategy, luck plays a role as well as taking risks to get to the next floor and aim for good rewards.
As a general guideline, the system has been balanced in such a way so that once you have gotten used to it, you should be able to reach floor 60. If you try really hard, you can get to floor 80, and then if luck is on your side you will able to reach floor 100.
Depending on the situation there of course might be cases where you will not be able to reach your target floor and there is no guarantee that you will reach floor 80/100 each time. This is why the rewards become more attractive as you reach higher floors.
Based on the above, we do not have any plans at the moment to ease the difficulty. In the event that we did reduce the difficulty, we would also have to lower the stats on the reward items.
For Nyzul Isle Investigation, depending on which piece of equipment (slot) you are after, you would select the according floor progression. However, for Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region you are trying to get to the highest floor possible to get the equipment with the higher stats.
The further you get floor wise, more attractive items will be dropped by monsters (※) you encounter and you will receive a large amount of tokens. Also, as opportunities to defeat NMs increases, the opportunities to obtain alexandrite will also increase.
※This goes for non-boss NMs as well. (Example: Behemoth spawning on a non-boss floor)
Making it easier to continuously challenge Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region
1. Cost of Temporary Items
For Nyzul Isle Investigation, the idea was to not worry so much about temporary items when going through non-boss floors, and to have a good amount of them for when you do fight bosses.
On the other hand, for Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region, it’s hard to discern when you are just going to go through regular floors and when you are going to fight bosses, so each time you have to grab a large amount of temporary items, just in case.
As a result, in the case you don’t get through very many floors the possibility of you wasting tokens is high, and we have been noticing this happening more than we expected.
With that said, we will be looking into reducing the amount of tokens needed to purchase temporary items.
2. Reward Obtainment Methods
In regards to reward items being obtaining by defeating bosses, we are looking into adding some new elements. The below 2 reasons are why there are difficulties obtaining rewards as drop items.
Element of challenge has become harder and there is no guarantee that you will able to fight a boss each time.
There are many types of reward items and the rate of obtaining the type or piece you want is low.
After considering these two points, if you are able to reach boss floors consistently, we’re thinking about making it so you’ll be able to obtain one desired item from amongst the items that can drop off a boss, which would be separate from the items that also dropped from that battle.
※This is a reward that depends on you clearing that specific floor, so other floors will not count and you will not be able to freely select rewards from other floors.
※Since no methods have been implemented to tally clears, when this system is implemented, previous clears will not be counted.

| Greetings!
I’d like to share a message from Director Mizuki Ito in regards to upcoming changes to Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region.
Mizuki Ito said: Hello. Director Mizuki Ito here.
Thanks so much for your feedback!
Based on feedback we received from actual play, we are planning to make the below changes.
Lower token cost of temporary items
This was already conveyed previously.
Implementation of a “stopper” feature
After entering, we will be changing the system so that you will be able to set which floor you would like to aim for: 20/40/60/80/100.
While we will be removing the feature where you can go past your destination floor, once you reach the destination floor and fight the notorious monster you will no longer be able to progress to the next floor.
Key item/equipment exchange system
This is the system that I mentioned previously where if you clear a boss floor a certain amount of times, you will be able to obtain an item of your choice from that same boss.
Meaning that if you defeat the notorious monster on floor 20 above a certain number of times, you will be eligible to receive one of the possible rewards for floor 20.
We are also currently looking into the direction of obtaining the stronger equipment through this method. For example, if you are able to defeat the notorious monster on floor 20 above a certain amount of times, you will be able to receive one of the possible rewards for floor 40.
In this case, the merits of aiming for floor 100 would become weak, so in the event that you defeat a notorious monster on floor 100, we are planning to make it possible to obtain one item from that floor by clearing it just one time.

| Hello!
I have a couple of things to inform you all about in regards to Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region.
First, in regards to the reward system changes, I have some updates. There was a discussion about the new system in regards to the number of times you must defeat a boss and the following two ideas came up:
The conclusion was the latter – not to differentiate by floor. On this basis, everyone felt that defeating a boss 25 times would be an appropriate number.
With this said, here is a compilation of what will be done:
Reduction of the cost of temporary items (Will be implemented during tomorrow's test server update)
Token costs will be halved.

Post-change |

Implementation of a "stopper" feature (Won't be added during tomorrow's test server update)
After entering, it will be possible to set which floor you would like to aim for: 20/40/60/80/100.
While you'll no longer be able to go past your destination floor, once you reach the destination floor and defeat the notorious monster there, you will be unable to progress to the next floor.
Key item/equipment exchange system (This version recently discussed above won't be implemented during tomorrow’s test server; however, the system we mentioned the other day will be implemented temporarily)
In the event that you are able to defeat a specific boss floor 25 times (or more), instead of receiving one of the possible items from that corresponding boss, you will be able to receive a more powerful version of that item.
For example, if you were to defeat the floor 20 notorious monster 25 times, you would be able to receive one of the floor 40 items. However, for floor 100 you will be able to select one of the floor 100 items by defeating the notorious monster found there.

| [dev1101] Adjustments to Assault: Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region
Players who defeat the NMs that spawn on floors 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 five times will be rewarded with a key item corresponding to that section.
Talking to the NPC Berangere at Aht Urhgan Whitegate (L-9) while in possession of one of those key items will allow players to receive one piece of equipment from a list of possible spoils obtainable in that section.
*The key item will be lost once the exchange is complete.
