I haven't had any issues with Click & Buy personally, but I'm thinking of switching over to Crysta, just because it'd be more appropriate given my current habit of "not playing".

So, how does one actually "Ditch" Click & Buy? I've been milling around their labyrinthine site for a while with no answers. And the last thing I want to do is *** something up and be permablocked out of FFXI.

I would say you could either simply block them from your CC company or just dont have the money in your account when its billing time but you would prob get screwed out of your account

Yeah, I figured.

I'm coming up on expiration soon anyway. It looks like any card registered through SE has to go through Click & Buy, even if you want to use Crysta though.

Living in NA I use Crysta simply by going to my local convenience store (7Eleven,Walgreens,CVS or Gamestop)and buy a $20 Ultimate Game Card to purchase my crysta with. Also can be found @ http://www.UltimateGameCard.com

Since I drive past one of them on an almost daily basis it isn't much of an inconvenience to stop and pick up one or two. So much better that C&Bscammers!

The only problem ive had so far is them charging an extra 25 cents for "international transaction fees"....I am ever forseeing the possible "lulz no FFXI for yuu" errors one day...

used click and buy for about a week, and it was total garbage. Crysta is simple and fast. only thing I do not like is not being able to buy a more specific amount of Crysta. However in a phone chat with SE rep they say they plan to soon make it purchasable in varying amounts through square sight.

I'd also like to know what would happen if you cancel your C&B account =/ We've had a few problems with banks thinking that the statements are for online casinos -.- Apparently they don't like that at all. If you go to disable/cancel your C&B account, do they see that as taking off billing info and suddenly freakcharge you for not having a payment method for FFXI or is that seperate? Also I heard that since the company is based in the UK, if you use a US VISA card (which we do) you'll get an extra fee charge each month =/ I haven't seemed to notice it but I'm going to check my account now. Thanks in advance.

Edit: they are charging me extra fees -.- screw this.
i canceled click and buy. i wanted nothing to do with them on my card after i switched to crysta. as long as you set your account to pull from crysta there's no problem. you don't need click and buy to buy crysta so you'll still have your se account, just a different form of payment.

I was using Click&Buy since the transfer option was available, and haven't had any issues thus far.

Granted however, it's only been, what, 3 months?

Point being, this thread got me thinking that getting SE PO'ed at me because of something clickandcrap did and getting my account b& just wasn't worth it.

So I got off my *** and changed all of my payment methods, ffxi and ffxiv to crysta, and loaded up 3000 crysta using paypal.
Hopefully this severs any/all ties with clickandcrap

tl;dr Thanks op

editforgreatjustice: The whole entire process took under 5 minutes to change from clickandbutthurt to crysta
If you're even remotely considering changing, it isn't tedious at all

Nope, it appears that way but you certainly don't need Click and Buy.

Log into your account. Go to "List Options Continued Automatically".

Under PlayOnline / FINAL FANTASY XI. You should see a box with your ffxi info and ID and next to that an "Options List" button. click it.

Should come to a page that lists all your characters and such. At the top there is an option for adding more "characters" and under that is "Payment Details"

It should list Payment Method in the first row with a button to the right saying "Update" click it. Click next at the bottom on the "read me" box thing.

You should be given two methods now. One for click and buy, one for crysta. Click the crysta option, click next, click Update to confirm, and then Done. Then you go to the right of your screen and click "Add Crysta" under "Payments and Service Fees".

To add onto what Kiori said, the other option is UltimatePay or some ***, but UltimatePay gives you the option of PayPal upon choosing it, although if you're using noscript you'll have to allow all scripts on the page like a billion times before it will allow you to click the PayPal tab

After you choose UltimatePay you'll end up with an overlay looking like this, only not on the paypal tab:

Just allow scrips if you have noscript on
tab over
and subsequently

you can use Click and Buy / Ultimate Game Cards / Paypal from this option, I figured people can figure it out from there.

:P no problem. I had to look it up too. Ultimate Pay doesn't list FFXI still under it's options or Playonline (at least when I looked) but at least that site i feel better since I've sold the cards at my local Walmart...and I trust them 10x more. I actually use Paypal to pay for my account, so I am happy for Crysta. It doesn't bother me that I have to pay $20 now to play for a month. I just look at it as in a few months, I will have a free month with all the extra crysta I had to buy :}

Basically told me what I already knew and said if it's not up and running by next Wednesday, I'm to get in touch and they will investigate further. Take yo time ClickandBuy x.x

I find it amusing that some people complain about the international charge, but then decide to overpay with Crysta anyway like it's no problem at all xD.

The Crysta isn't taken (never to be seen again) like the C&B fees are though, it stays in your account ready to be used next billing cycle.
