Warning To Any Players Using Click And Buy

Just want to get the word out to anyone who may be paying to FFXI using Click and Buy, abandon chip. Change your payment info on the SE Management site ASAP. Buying Crysta sucks, but it's far better than losing your account.
I am currently in the middle of a nightmare with SE's customer service. Due to an error with Click and Buy, a chargeback was issues to Square. So I work with Click and buy, and quickly resolve the matter. Pay the fee, and Square Enix gets their money. That was last Sunday.
The chargeback resulted not in the cancellation of my FFXI access and account (my community profile is still active), but a total termination of my Square Enix Account. I can't log in to change billing info, register new games, access the forums, or even ::shudder:: log into FF XIV. Calls to SE customer service have been useless. Under the new billing policy, they can't do anything. According to them I have to wait until Click and Buy contacts them, and for them to get around to unbanning my account. Providing SE with the transaction number from C&B, showing that they have been paid is not enough for them. When asked for an ETA, they won't even say if this issue will be resolved within a month.
This is a horrible way to run a business, and handle something as simple as a card chargeback.
So there's my warning. Ditch Click and Buy, because if there is ever any issue with it, you're screwed, and SE has no idea how long it might take to get it fixed on their end. Buying Crysta sucks, but at least then you just get your access cut off for non-payment if something screws up, and you won't have to worry about a chargeback.

I second this...I am still pissed that C & B was pilfering small amounts of money from my bank account. When asked, they denied it...but the bank statement says it all...

Well in this case it's not just C&B it's Square horribly inefficient policy on the matter. C&B screwed up, but as far as they are concerned the matter is done. C&B has been paid, Square has been paid. For Square, a receipt ticket from C&B isn't enough. At this point I blame Square for switching to a terrible new billing system. Yes C&B started this, but Square shouldn't make customer jump though hoops then wait weeks to get the matter resolved.

Honestly, by using something that's on many blacklists, was taking a risk. Said risk bit you on the ***. I know you're sore but well, people told ya so.

Honestly have no clue. Account had money in it. I think it might have been some fraud alarm at my bank since Click and Buy is in the UK, and international charges raise red flags. Banks called, said charge was fine.
Once again though, the main issue I have is SE having such a convoluted process once you get the matter resolved. Being able to provide SE with the transaction receipt should end the issue immediately. And a charge problem on FFXI should not block access to just being able to log into the SE management system, forums or FFXIV.
I lost an ATM a few years ago, and didn't get the new one before FFXI billing cycle was up. Lost access. Just logged in, changed billing info, and was back in the game in 10 minutes without having to call anyone.

Today a player from our social LS came back.
He had similar hassle with C & B. He payed for a month, like reactivated but couldn play the whole mount.
Then he got his money back or so but had to pay a new charge for that to C&B.
He did call his lawyer and they made a lawsuit which he won.
He got all his money back and can now play 2 months for free.
I dont know the exact story/details, but that C&B chargeback prolly violated one or the other german law i guess.

I'm having a really simlair problem, and came across this forum searching round for some help. I got the CLickandbuy part sorted, the payment is cleared, but its after 6pm GMT, so I can't call SE, and their other support services are not working for some reason. Though going by what you said it doesn't look like there's even any point in contacting them. My account has also been terminated by SE, I know you said that they don't know how long it will take to fix it, but does that atleast mean that although the account is terminated, they do give you it back? I've never had this kind of problem before so apologies if im kinda slow with it ><

I have yet to move to the new payment system.
I Couldn't be bothered to do it before leaving the game for another break and all these stories about SE's idiocy with yet another flawed service made me want to simply stop caring.
A friend of mine had to deal with the same crap and was off the game for a couple of weeks.
At least now I'll know what to face if anything goes wrong when I do return to the game.
Still, bleh SE.

So far all the reports of C&B being rubbish and people having problems with SE are all non-UK people.
I have yet to have a problem with C&B but once SE brings in the new payment options such as paypal, direct debit etc then I will switch to one of those, because even though nothing bad has happened yet, it's probably better to jump ship before it does sink!

nope i had no problems either, but i think that is because i use my normal bank account.
:( a lot of my NA friends frequently have some kind of trouble with credit cards though. A lot switched to Crysta when they noticed that you could pay with paypal for your crysta over the ultimate pay option.
Seems to work lots better so i'd recommend that from hearsay.

I'm an NA player. I'm setup using Click 'n Buy and I haven't ran into any issues yet(*knocks on wood*). I too get hit with the small additional charges, but I'm pretty sure this is a currency conversion fee charged by the merchant services company that processes the credit card transaction (Not Click n' Buy directly). Basically a fee to convert your US Dollars to whatever the primary currency that Clink n' Buy deals with (Euro's maybe?).
I've been seriously considering buying Crysta and dropping Click n' Buy after reading the OP. >.>;

What do i do?
Do i cancel click and buy from the square enix account website and then you just buy the crysta and it goes to your account?
also do i need to deactivate on the clickandbuy website for the change in payment method to go through?

Please respond if any of you with similar problems get a resolution. Every time I call SE they just tell me to wait, and give me no ETA. One guy said I should call back ever week, and they could not even say if it would take less than a month to sort out.

I'd also like to know what would happen if you cancel your C&B account =/ We've had a few problems with banks thinking that the statements are for online casinos -.- Apparently they don't like that at all. If you go to disable/cancel your C&B account, do they see that as taking off billing info and suddenly freakcharge you for not having a payment method for FFXI or is that seperate? Also I heard that since the company is based in the UK, if you use a US VISA card (which we do) you'll get an extra fee charge each month =/ I haven't seemed to notice it but I'm going to check my account now. Thanks in advance.

i never changed my billing info with se, never dicked with crysta(altho i do have a c&b account for ffxiv.....) se is still pulling my payment from my bank account. all i can say is glad i never set that crap up for ffxi
