Actually, sometimes people need to hear the obvious. ANY advice is useless if it's not put to use. Whether it's a cliche bit or not.

If you don't command respect, *** won't give you any, and that's fair. Do many people want to have a relationship with someone who'll just roll over and take it in the shitpipe all their life? (Figuratively)

Yeah, that'd be kind of nice. Oh, didn't see the figurative part at first.

I bet if you thought about it, most likely you've friend zoned some nice women you just weren't into as well this is hardly sex based in my eyes.

But how old are the women you're after? maturity level seems to play a large part for this which is partly why I'm drawn to older women usually.

25-40 year old women are usually more mature and would go for something they need (like kind and sweet) more than a 20 year old purely drawn to a bad boy for some fun that'd most likely hurt her

(I'm saying this as what I've found but I'm sure a bunch of guys here have found immature 30 year old crazy women etc) it comes down to my original question
Well I'm 18 lol so I should be expecting it, not complaining about it.
Yeah, I'm sure I've friend zoned really nice girls so I don't really have room to talk
Generally (atm, in a few years it will changed for obvious reasons) I go 1-2 years younger to about 4 years older, so 17-22 generally, and with that kind of age group, it's like you said with maturity. I'm drawn to my older sister's friends who are 23-27ish, because they actually turn around and return my feelings, but feel awkward with someone so young

I think it has more to do with personality type than age. Guys friendzone their shy nerdy female friends all the time, when all they want is a nice, sweet guy--unfortunately, boys "always" go for the "hot" girls. The same amount of guys go for "hot girls" as girls go for "bad boys" I think.

It kinda sucks how in almost every sort of love story out there the guy instantly falls in love with the girl because of her looks, and he has some sort of personality flaw that she looks past because he's a good guy. It's barely ever the other way around, where the "ugly but nice girl" gets the hot guy.

Shrek ftw for breaking the mold, lol.

yeah understandable plus it would make things awkward for the sister. I have an older sister as well and in highschool had a crush on her best friend. it killed my sister when she found out lol
My second girlfriend (most recent, yeah ive only had 2) was one of her good friends, I was 16 she was...21 at the time, we hung out a lot whenever my sister had friends over, she would just come visit me and we would hang out on our own, once my sister finally got curious we were 3 months in lol it was thanks to my sis that we broke up ;/ we couldn't get any time to ourselves, haven't had anything close to a relationship since lol

the friendzone is pure evil.

and from what everyone else is saying about people having a crush on a sibling's friend or something like that...from time to time I have to pick up my sister from her basketball games or attend the games. and its really awkward for a bunch of girls staring me and having them come over 1 by 1 and ask me some random question and they all huddle around giggling. and when I have to drive them to the away games sometimes...its nonstop asking me stuff.

To the men who get friend-zoned:

I wish I knew why I friend-zone people. Most commonly it's because I'm in a relationship, and that's my default mode. Granted, I'm not sure if that's actual friend-zone though?

My only advice I can give you is this: girls like having guy friends. They like talking to Friend-Zoned guys because the platonic chemistry between men and women is a bit different than woman+woman. A lot of men won't submit themselves into being a friend-zoned buddy, so finding a good one is useful!

Anyway, I suppose what I'm saying is don't make yourself out to be that super awesome 'gay-boyfriend' that the girl needs if you don't want to be friend-zoned.

How you do that? Idkman.

Some people(college students) drink coffee like it's water, so asking for a coffee date may seem like it's a good idea, but in reality it's a very cheap date.
