Yeah. It tends to throw people off the same way people get thrown off when I say I hate the NFL, I loved NCAA football...but I'd prefer to watch European soccer even though I played football and lacrosse. People tend to have their own interest...it's easier to be yourself and just ignore people who can't accept that than hide behind a mask that isn't you.

I've actually met a couple people like that before. Like you're sitting around talking and some how a subject comes up like anime or rpgs and you try to pass it off because you know your friend is just trying to be a jerk around some other people they know then one of them is randomly like "OMG NOWAI" and gamer/nerd bonding commences. That's actually how I got to know one of my best friends in my last couple years of high school.

whenever anime is brought up people are like "wtf u watch cartoons?"
