My NIN and BLU were Abyssea burned and are likely better than 90%+ of non-Abyssea burned NIN and BLUs.
New players? I've had a few of those around recently. They levelled to 30 and such the normal way, some as high as 40~50 and then decided that fast levels wouldn't be such a bad thing.
The game is what you make it. Different to what we had? Yes. But different != worse.
(personally I wish exping outside Abyssea was fun and offered a lot of variety - neither the current nor the old system offers this, so the quickest way is the one I prefer).

Naw I have re-upped wow and lotro they both as it stands right now offer more challenge then what the current state of ffxi offers. I dont really plan on using a job if it is underskilled and you should know that i spend most of the time skilling up and breaking latents. What i have a problem with is gettin in a lowman seal group with a pink ninja that cant hit a mob and the mages with spells not landing. I kinda wish more old school players would take the time to help newer people in the game. I know that and this is why i am sticking to BLM/RDM/THF/WAR/BRD, NIN is capped but havent gotten around to use it enough yet (soloed/duoed few +1 NM only) The exp rate needing fixing but SE went so far from one direction to another. <i did quit before abyssea and the lvl cap came out and returned a few days before 85 was released.> It would be nice if they implemented something like an nm fight to raise lvl caps instead of just requiring some crests and merits to progress. That would at least sort out some of the idiocy.

If you don't like how the game is, don't play. Seriously, nobody is stopping you quitting but yourself.

If people should choose to let folks leech in their party then so be it. Personally, I don't get to play as often as I used to, or as often as other people do. The fast exp both in and out of Abyssea I think is great. I haven't however leeched in an Abyssea party, I prefer to solo outside than hang around. But that goes with not being able to play much. I don't really want to spend my gaming hours not doing anything. I spent forever getting my first job to 75, its nice to be able to level faster now, and get on with other more fun things. |
