Reason I don't go out actively pursuing a gf is because I'm at a very important crossroads in my life this year and I could be at the other end of the country or if I join the RAF could be out the country, so to meet a girl and get involved would not be nice on her if I had to leave once she got attached.
Sorry I'm late, but you won't be sent to Afghanistan, will you?!?
Noooo no I'm not applying to be a regiment officer or gunner, basically I want to be a rescue pilot and save lives or a physical training instructor with a view to eventually becoming a parachute training instructor so I went to visit the air force careers office to discuss my options and they told me i have the grades to basically do ANYTHING I want in the RAF with the exception of medicine which requires a degree. Thing is, my grades are just good enough to apply to be a pilot but it's the most competitive role in the RAF and I'd be up against younger guys with scholarships and university graduates so my chances would not be great, but still a chance. I was also told I can go and study some interesting very interesting subjects, have all my university fees paid, all my accomodation paid AND get paid a salary on top of all that just for studying, then come out after 3 years with a well paid job that guarantees VERY fast promotion up the ranks and pay scale due to it being in demand.
Only problem is you are only allowed to apply for ONE role in the RAF and if you don't get in you can't apply for another for a long time.
