A fair number of English majors in my state go on to law school. I hadn't really thought about it, I'd rather be petting dogs than stammering in front of a judge, see? But I have been checking on ways to help critters, because frankly I like animals better than people. There's some type of fancypants lawyer that protects animal rights, everything from veterinary malpractice to abuse issues. So I was all "I get to help dogs and tell people off who hurt them? Bring it baby!"
There are two law schools in Idaho. One is University of Idaho, so I'd have to move away from my husband for a full three years. The other is right here in my own town, but the tuition alone for one single year is more than my husband paid for his engineering education over a total of seven years.
O.O Holy dang, law school. Holy dang.
I don't know the job prospects for attorneys in Idaho either, so it might be better, but the prospects in the east are pretty terrible at the moment. Best of luck if you try though!
