That battle is easier if you don't lock on in my opinion. Just stay away until you see it slam down and extend the small head, once it does this the ground will rumble signaling it's about to charge. Just run to the side and dodge the charge and once it gets tired or hits a wall, slash away at it's rear. Repeat.
Oh and if you see it arch it's back with it's face on the floor, run! It's about to vomit this green ooze that will rapidly deteriorate your armor.

I'm sorry lol. I didn't tell him everything, and I felt he should know about the acid, that's just a waste of souls otherwise. He still has to be able to apply the aforementioned strategy (if he wants to).
I have a tendency to read too much on stuff and find out almost everything about a boss before I even fight it. Like I went into blighttown with the spider shield, made sure to get the shadow set asap, had the poisonbite ring, and had a bunch of moss. Then I end up only getting poisoned once and toxic once. >.>
