NONE of you ever got taken to the bathroom and busted with a shoe? Well now I'm just embarrassed...

I'm making a thread about Summoner soloing and listing monsters and how to solo and stuff, but because of my insistence on being thorough and making it pretty it's taking a long time. ; ;
Why not just add to the summoner guide thread?
Already spoken to him, and we decided it should go in a seperate thread. And you'll see why! I'm making an encyclopedia of sorts. People berating me earlier for defending SMN soloing inspired me to finish it.

Wasn't berating, just felt like you were berating instead other jobs equally useful.

I personally haven't, but I've had friends who would pull their kids aside to the restroom in public areas.

That sucks Z. And the only person who really gets affected in such a negative way, is the child. She should be investigated by child services.
She doesn't do it anymore. It was just that period after his death. It really upset me seeing that, and I don't know what happened behind closed doors. Whenever I would take him for a weekend to go goof around during that period he had reverted back to peeing himself. It was weird.
I had thought about it at the time, and even called my mother about it. She wasn't pleased. ***was weird a year ago.

"Do you want a trip to the bathroom..." Soon as I'd hear that, I wouldn't move. I'd fold my hands and set them in my lap, look straight ahead and not say ***lol
My mom is also 6'2 so she was always scary as ***, regardless.

Yes Draco, that's the story I meant.
Quote: “He lifted his son up by the hair,” eye witness Deniz Cinkitas told the Aftonbladet newspaper following the incident.
While the Italian politician maintains that he never hit his son, eye witnesses told the court that Colasante grabbed the boy's hair, causing him to cry out in pain.
“Here in Italy, it's being portrayed like it wasn't anything serious, that it was just a little slap,” said Aftonbladet's Rome correspondent Åke Malm.
Swedish police can be really *** HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE at other times though. They were searching for a man who was somewhere near the house in the snow. The neighbor could hear him screaming when he called the police but they eventually gave up and the next day they found him only 15 meters from his house, having frozen to death.

My dad never even raised voice on me and my brother, would just scold us firmly but peacefully; and my mom would just very rarely spank my brother if he really did something bad(like beating me). And we are very educated children.

Oh, ok that kind of changes everything. Lifting your child by the hair is kind of extreme....

We'd get a slap for saying things we weren't supposed to, and we'd catch a belt or the wire end of a fly swatter before we'd get a hand across our butts. Thinking back, I definitely don't think they should have used anything when they punished us, but when they did punish us, it was for good reason. We knew we shouldn't have done or said what we did. Actually, thinking about it, I should have gotten my *** beat a LOT more than what I did.
I don't plan on behaving like my parents did when it comes to discipline, as I don't agree with how they did it 100%. I do feel like their actions were warranted and that they did what they thought was best, so I can't really feel any sort of malice towards them for it.

Yeah...No...That's kind of impossible for me I think. I always need to know the who, what, when, where, and why of people's word and actions. Our parents always spoke to us to find out the core issue. Not sure what her parents ever did, but my family has never been pleased with her anyway.
I hate to say rural trailer-trash, but rural trailer-trash. My dad paid for a portion of the rest her education after she was booted from her family for getting knocked up out of wed-lock. She's continually spit in my parents' and my face since her graduation. The "man on the side"...The divorce...The death...Sometimes I wonder if my brother intentionally got blotto and ended it with a bang.

We banned physical punishment in 79, the first in the world. Around 30 countries in the world have it outlawed.

NONE of you ever got taken to the bathroom and busted with a shoe? Well now I'm just embarrassed... I didn't really get punished, ever really, before my father passed away. I remember him coming home from work and I would run up to him and he'd grab me and lift me up high kissing me on the cheek scratching me with his beard, then he'd spend the rest of his day with me playing with me. My mother didn't really spend time with me, she'd look after me before I started preschool but I was pretty much by myself until he came home. Then I started school, and he'd always be there to pick me up and take me home.
I don't really remember being a bad kid, honestly. Think I was in time out maybe twice and that is really far back, and I would cry the whole time and he would come back in my room talking to me about it then give me a long hug.

My dad is the kind of guy that loses it when he gets angry
So yeah i respected my mom and feared my dad

My parents and grandparents would all play it on shame, making you feel really guilty for you did, like "that's the kind of thing that horrible people do...so, are you a horrible person?", etc. I dunno if better or worse, but my dad never once even raised his voice on me and I fear his judgment A LOT.

Quote: In 1977, Swedish Parliament created a committee to examine children's rights. Before the new policy was official, they explained the ban in pamphlets translated into several languages and printed information about it on milk cartons.
The result was Chapter 6, Section 1 of the Swedish Children and Parents Code: "Children are entitled to care, security and a good upbringing. Children are to be treated with respect for their person and individuality and may not be subjected to corporal punishment or any other humiliating treatment." It passed almost unanimously.
The section carries no penalties -- assault cases are still governed by the criminal code, and the number of assault prosecutions hasn't increased, according to a report from the Swedish government and Save the Children Sweden. Instead, adults who hit a child can expect a swift response from Swedish social services, said Joan Durrant, a family social sciences professor at University of Manitoba.
"The police are not going to say, 'This parent should be charged,'" said Durrant, who has studied the effects of Sweden's ban for decades. "The police will say, 'What you did is not OK, I understand why it happened, but you need to know that's against the law, and here are the supports available to you.'"
Those supports might be access to parenting groups, child development information, children's health care or nurses that help childproof homes or offer advice.
It's a typically Swedish response, said Ian Swanson, who is now 31 and living in Minneapolis. His family was at least vaguely aware of the country's ban on physical punishment, but didn't immediately understand what the reaction to a spanking could be.
"It was very much a foreigner's thing. They sort of pitied my parents," Swanson said. "I remember being very afraid that I was going to be taken away. It seemed like a very real possibility. I felt some guilt about it. I was the one misbehaving -- if it weren't for me, they wouldn't be here."
But he also remembers understanding and agreeing with the Swedes' assessment: If parents are hitting, it means they've lost control, and might need to learn about other options.
"[Parents] couldn't understand how someone had the gall -- 'Who in the world can come in and tell me how I'm supposed to raise my child?'" he said. "That's a very American idea. In Sweden, that would not be asked. It's everybody's responsibility."

Yikes, that's kinda worse than a pop on the butt imo. I can't imagine telling my kid they're a horrible person for doing something kids do.

There's nothing wrong with being lady-like once in a while. Some things a better off not cast out. If you find a good balance for it it will come in handy more often than you think.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
