I wasn't necessarily dismissing Narshe's suggestion, but merely noting that it isn't always a practical solution. In my instance, it would be a bit more alienating as my own viewpoint would perceive that as something superficial or based on creating a convenient illusion.
But alas, don't mistaken my conversation starter to be a plea for attention or creating viable solutions to one's psyche, but rather something to talk about and gain various input on. Though I can see how that fell short due to being an undesirable aspect for conversation in virtually every respect.
