Honestly, super smooth lineart isn't particularly important. Outside professional tier work and school anyway. Some of my favorite works have fairly messy lineart. I feel it adds a bit of charm to a piece of art. And I've had a few friends comment on my messy lineart looking better for my style than clean lineart.
My problem is that my colouring sucks, too, so there's nothing to hide the crappy lineart. Just need more practice, really, but I just can't be patient about it and end up constantly picking out problems in my stuff, even if I know it's the best I can do right now.
