My 200mm case fan is dying, and I really don't feel like getting a new one, so I just took the side of my case off to help ventilate lol.
the one on top of my case died once.. was an effing pain to remove and replace lol
That's the exact one too. It's on the top of my case and it's spinning super slow... I triple checked the molex cables, nothing wrong there, so I guess it's just finally dying out.
I really don't feel like replacing it since I have plans to get a new PC by no later than March anyways, so for now I'll just have the guts exposed for extra ventilation lol.
Eh, I don't see the point anymore. We could analyze every iota of the franchise's weaknesses, shortcomings, virtues and triumphs. Ultimately it comes down to haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love.
I for one just don't find Lightning that interesting enough to warrant a new game or DLC package, whatever the heck that thing is.

I'm too far deep, man. I already own FF1 - FF13-2. I might buy FF14 just so I can complete the collection. I'll wait until it's $20 and I have FF15.
I think I wore disguise glasses with that fake nose and mustache when I went in to buy FFX-2. I'd have to hire someone to buy XIII-2 for me if I ever stoop that low.

I ment more because because I still need to get around to finishing 13-2.
I think the biggest problem I had with 13 wasn't the story or the characters or even the linearity but the music. The techno stuff just didn't appeal to me and (to me) it wasn't memorable at all. Good music can make a mediocre game great and a bad music can make a good game (story and characters) mediocre. If the music had been different I think I would've enjoyed it a lot more :/

It was a combination of all of the above, but of all the things that alienated me the most, it probably was the soundtrack. I can tolerate a mediocre story, melodrama, and linearity, but when the music was so poorly placed to the point where it was overbearing and annoying rather than supportive and captivating, I had to give up playing the damned thing.

Could you kindly GTFO?
That's a piano onry version though, completely different.
Sunleth Waterscape without the techno stuff is great. It's the techno I don't like because there's too much of it, a few songs would've been fine but it's in like every track. I know it's been used in previous titles but not to that extent.

What about the cheap hip-hop 'rap' and heavy metal that replaced Uematsu's majestic work in 13-2 lol. Music in 13 was bearable, music in 13-2 just crushed me to my very soul. I did like the Sunleth Waterscape though.
To be fair Urial, not every track was awful. Some were absolutely sublime and beautiful (as per your example). But throughout the game, there were many that were unnecessarily vocal, or stretched the genre per setting so poorly that it stuck out like a sore thumb rather than luring me into what was happening, which is what music should do for a game. Simply, I wish it was more consistent with previous final fantasies rather than experimenting to the point of it being painfully bad and misplaced. But alas, there's still nuggets of gold in there.
Honestly techno or not, the foundation for the majority of songs on that OST was brilliant and it shines through beautifully in a lot of tracks. As can been seen by the simple fact that Arte and I both posted songs with that foundation.
I mean hell even with the "Techno" sound I think Sunleth Waterscape is brilliant.
I wont defend XIII-2 it was hard to find any songs I liked in that OST.
Edit: Unnecessarily vocal? You mean to say video games shouldn't have vocals? Why yes lets stick with early gen limitations. I'm sure if this were centuries ago you'd be one of the people who called Beethoven crazy for putting lyrics in his Symphony...

It's simply my opinion, but I found the vocal tracks to be...misplaced. They didn't befit the song in the manner that I felt was appropriate. So the song ended up sticking out in an awkward manner, which in turn takes away attention from the game itself. Granted I am admittingly more comfortable with strictly instrumental tracks for FF soundtracks (not based on hardware limitations), however, if done right, vocals can truly energize and step a track up to the next level of emotional scale, and here's a perfect example.
You'll likely recognize this from when Tidus and crew enter the Zanarkand Ruins for the first time.
I don't mind techno/trance etc but I just didn't like the tracks used (most, not all obviously) in XIII, it was too much. You can think it's dumb if you want, they just didn't seem fitting imo.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
