Randomly assigned groups for 3 presentations that add up to 70% of our grades. Fun times.

Is it just me or are randomly assigned groups some gradeschool ***?

Did someone not get the hot girls in his group and instead got a bunch of nerds and the one guy who smells funny?

Oh I once swalled a bit of lake ontario water by accident. When it comes to stuff that should kill me I say bring it.

Leaving for first day of work in ~15 minutes. I've been up for 10.5 hours already.

It is ***. That was seriously the only reason I didn't get an A in 2 of my classes. Combined project and 10 min presentation between 3 people! LOL ONE PERSON SKIPS IT OR SLACKS AND YOU GET A 60.

My news feed on facebook is suddonly filled with pictures of couples being couples, now I'm lonly damn it XD

The sad part is, I'm not even the kind of guy who's afraid to do that sort of stuff.

Time for the baby? And yeah, when my son was born, I was in a room with no windows for two days. He was born in the afternoon and I'd have sworn it was the middle of the night.

born this morning, 9:55am edt, they said 9:54, but I trust my sat adjusted phone, and another, more than their wall clock :P

Yeah this is my main concern, I have a 3.9 overall GPA and I really don't want to roll the dice here. I know a lot of the people in the class and I know some of them are slackers.

Considering dropping the class because of this, too much risk for my bones.

Think you guys need to work on your teamwork skills.

I hated group projects. I would always get stuck with people who were happy with getting a B, so they would only half-*** their share of the work. I ended up going to my professor during his office hours and explaining the situation to them and how I felt about it, he ended up giving me a solo project which was 10x more awesome. Hate working with random people, especially ones who are inadequate at the skills required to get an A.

My professor last fall said we could kick people out of the group if they weren't doing any work....

I take it you don't get that luxury?

I'd always work alone for a group project if the option was there... I had one in in collage where we had one girl who wasn't so bright. We rehearsed the presentation, timed ourselves and everything was fine. When the actual presentation came she went on for 3x as long as she was supposed to, reading directly off the sheet (which we had to hand in a copy of our notes so our chef could see it was directly off the sheet), and to top it all off, what she went on about wasn't even relevant to our presentation. Then that screwed me on my part because I had to force 5 minutes worth of info into around 45 seconds before we started losing marks >.> Afterwords the 3 of us agreed upon a 4th member we could count on who was informed that in the case of 4 people groups they were with us.

If they had been random groupings I think I would have killed myself... given some of the people in my class that might not even be a joke.

It is a pain in the *** don't get me wrong, also when it is going to affect your final grades then it's made personal. Working with other people is definitely something to get used to though, when you step into working environments it's almost a guarantee that at some point you will have to work with others and there is a high percentage many of them will be completely useless halfwits and there is nothing you can do about it.

*** hated grouping up with random people in class :| this is why I take classes that I know do that with friends lol... or try to group up with the smart people :p

Oh trust me, you have no idea. The difference is in the real world you can shift them to the simpler, hard to *** up even for them tasks. In school you are required to give everyone an important role or they take marks off.

Also in the real world people get better or they get replaced, doesn't work that way in school.

It's actually surprising to me you guys feel this way, think how much time you have invested in MMOs working with other people, it's a necessity.

I mean if you managed to get through 30cap promyvions teamwork should be a walk in the park >_>

Holy *** :| I found the camera I want to upgrade to ... problem is I am in no way going to be able to drop 3 grand on something like that anytime soon unless I find a money tree or start shitting out money :|

Group projects are important... expecially with random people... think about it this way... while not all of us have to... I bet there are a lot of us in our carreers that are assigned to projects and have to work with others to accomplish the goal... sometimes it is in a management role and sometimes it as just part of the group... learning how to function in a group setting with people that we don't know/like/have experience working with/etc. is an important skill to develop...
