dropping friends is pretty normal after high school lol i think i need to make it a requirement that if they wanna hang out with me they have to be able to drive :|

I got mine when I was 18..I felt like an old fart..I just didn't have a car to practice alot with and we moved so often I missed free drivers ed. Turns out not-free drivers ed doesnt teach you how to drive either..ugg..I passed the written test but almost failed the actual driving test.

the school vehicle for one thing was a jeep and nothing like the family car. And my teacher wouldnt give me directions til the last minute. I remember driving up to an intersection and I asked "am I going left? right? straight?...hallo?" but by the time he answered "left" I was already going straight. Ugg..horrible experience.

after I had my license I still couldnt really use it because I had no car.

just make sure you know the driving route..maybe ask if you can drive around the parking lot or something to get used to the car? idk..

my grandma still doesnt have her license and never will cuz she cant learn english lol people always fight at whos going to get her and take her back since she lives in like the projects in downtown LA lol

But yea... they're getting way too into drugs for my liking. Smoking was fine by me to a point, as long as it didn't seem like they were essentially forming an addiction to it(yes yes I know you can't get a physical addiction from smoking pot, not my point right now.) But now I'm being told some of 'em are popping pills and partying almost every night. I understand it's college but that's just not something I wanna get heavily into. Parties every now and then? Sure, but popping pills/smoking/drinking nearly every night? No thanks.

What some people in other countries forget is how flippin' big North America is. Public transportation is garbage in a lot of cities too.

I'm sorry to hear about your aunt, Spath. :-( Don't stress the driving test. Even if you fail it, you can take it again. Just breathe and think of the tester as your pal.

Bah, that's exactly what you're NOT supposed to think about! Think about them as wanting you to pass more than they want you to fail.

Not being able to drive isn't that bad. I haven't driven in about 2 months after driving for 9 or so years.

:x People always tell me to do stuff like this, my mind will always go to either the opposite side (they totally want me to fail) or realize they're completely indifferent whether I pass/fail and that doesn't really help, almost makes em sound cold-hearted doesn't it?

Oh Spath. You are going to do fine! The written portion was harder than the driving portion, anyhow. And the testers give you a gazillion chances to do things right. I kept forgetting to put on my emergency brake when I parked, so my tester made me drive and park about 4 times. When I remembered once, I was done with the parking portion. See? They give you lots of chances, and they don't want you to be back every two days for the next forever, so they really do want you to pass. /comfort

I don't know, that written test was pretty easy. XP Pretty sure they're just gonna make me drive around a bit, probably won't be a specific parking portion. More like a "Ok we're done, now park you useless meat bag" portion. :D (At this point I really am just joking for the hell of it)

Plus this! Spence speaks so much truth. I've had my license for 10~ish years, in that time I've taken out a high school chemistry lab with my truck which spilled and mixed all the chemicals, came four feet from hitting a gas line, and required several days of men in Hazmat suits or whatever they are called to clean it up, I then was trying to pull out of a parking lot and turned too sharply and hit a shiny brand new red truck with a cranky lady driver, and also hit a deer. Ok, ok, I get the drift, I'm a sucky driver. So now I only drive when I absolutely HAVE to, and really, walking everywhere isn't half bad.

You can write it both ways. It's often spelled jasså by young people because that's how you say it but the "proper" spelling would be jaså.

When your school is about 14 miles away it is. XP Not to mention I still need to get a job and having a license would make that so much easier since I hate our public transportation system. lmao
