Indeed! I would have named her Aeryn Crichton, but then I would have had to go Aeryn Sun-Crichton and given her long dark hair. She looked just like me-- small, puny, blonde-- so I couldn't do that! It would be an insult to Aeryn Sun!

Also, I hope it's not taken as an insult, but that old picture of Liela she's using as her avatar again reminds me of that little girl that is portrayed on some Korn T-shirt.

In white and black the story is fairly good and off the beaten horse path of the last games.

Yomi and Leila, do you think either of you will give it another try after the patch?

Ina, what server are you on? I know Uri and Thunderz were on...Ummm...Hold on...Nevermind...Forgot. Slip and his wife were on Trabia.
I'll be on Durandal after the merges (which is rabanastre or Cornilea I think before) unless it gets messed up somehow. Iro will be there I beleave and I think someone else mentioned it as well... might have been Moonlight but not 100%

Yeh I caught Tornadus early on after many an attempt >_>; then went looking for Thundurus only to find out after hours of searching I need to get it from White >_>; but yeh the story just seemed to come to an abrupt halt, it's kind of lame. I was expecting to be able to go to other regions etc.

My husband has been trying to subtly bring it up with me. He's showing me screenshots of his brother's character riding a goobbue. At least, I think he's trying to subtly bring it up, heh, or trying to gauge my interest. If he wants to get back into it, I will too. But we will probably go straight to his brother's server. I'm not sure which server that is, but I can probably find out after my husband wakes up.

I love Farscape! Haven't yet watched Stargate, though. I like shows/movies where girls are kickass. So things like Farscape, where Aeryn can kick John's butt (and everyone else's), Chianna doesn't take any crap from anyone, and that crazy redhead has her own agenda, I like. I can't stand shows/movies where the girl just sits around and waits for a guy to come save her, except Disney cartoons. And even Disney has some kick-*** girls.

Mulan runs away, joins the army, saves her father's life, saves her crush's life, single-handedly saves her army from a Hun attack, then saves the emperor's life on top of that.

Esmeralda takes on the soldiers of Paris and wins.

Ariel didn't like her life situation so she got off her duff and changed it herself. Same with Cinderella.

Aurora and Snow White were kinda meh, they both had to have a guy come fetch them. But they sort of had an excuse, I guess. I suppose being poisoned or spelled into a comatose state is a reason to need rescued. >.> But just that once, if it happens again I will have to be anti- Aurora and Snow White!

Yeah...I've been curious, but time is where I end up hitting the wall.

EDIT: Okay...This is why I'm also hung up on finding a crowd that gets along well and understands time parameters...

So, a group of us from HS started playing XI together in college as a way of keeping in touch. We all knew that we all had demanding schedules, and were forgiving with each other about events and what not.

Anyhow, one in our crowd failed out of college and started playing non-stop. He wanted to add randoms into the LS, so that he wouldn't have to wait on us, which was totally understandable. Then, it turned into a ***storm when our original group of casual XIers butted heads with the new people who demanded that we be there for practically everything or be booted out of the LS we created! We were really steamed.

My RL buddy, Sabre, and I were pretty involved on campus, and another girl in our LS used to give us so much ***! That turned into a heaping handful of drama when it came down to the "cunty", collegiate Chi-O's versus girl who couldn't keep her legs closed at age sixteen.

Not on the same level of drama in my opinion, but when Abyssea came out my old LS, Crimsonreign, was slow to get into it. I got into it with a different LS and figured some stuff out. Was the first person on Asura to obtain the Vermeil Bhuj. After that, our leader in CR figured out some stuff from a japanese dat miner and we really started kicking abyssea's ***. Well, as it turns out, so many of the stronger monsters in abyssea do not require more than 6 people really. Especially after you have access to two atmas. A disparity started to grow between me and my close friends in CR, the people who knew what they were doing, the reasons we succeeded at events, and then the people who had no idea what they were doing and refused to listen to tips and other such things. Eventually it became bad enough to where me and about 4 other people were the only people actually doing any work at events... in a group of about 19. We went on like this for a few months, and we became more discontent every single day. I mean, not only was our hard work going to idiots who'd amassed points by doing nothing but showin up(yes, yes, point systems outdated etc.) but out leader was incredibly greedy. I mean, we understood him decking out his main jobs, but then he just started to take everything that he wanted, even if he couldn't use it. He had like 3000 points or something by the time Abyssea came out, because he'd obtained everything of worth through other methods prior to abyssea, so he'd just amassed points for 2 years prior. He ran out of points about half way to Shinryu, but he continued to take and take. Then the idiots started to complain about his greed, then they started to complain about us, the real workers. Then there was some drama between a great friend of mine and our leader that I still don't understand, and that just *** tore it. I ripped all our good players, save one, because he was extraordinarily loyal to CR, out of that shell and into my own. We're literally just a handful of people, but we're happy now though a bit bored these days. CR promptly fell apart.

Now we just do things on a whim whenever anyone has the time, and that's the way it's been. Some friends of mine quit after I went to Boot camp. Was a real shame. I still wouldn't trade my handful of friends for the world though.

Ah, that sucks. We started playing with a rl group too, a big chunk of rl friends. There's two of us left. We never really got mad at each other over different times for leveling or whatever like that. In fact, the ones who all quit first were the ones who went hardcore at it to start with and left the rest of us in the dust. Then those of us who went slower, logged on when we felt like it and didn't log on when we didn't feel like it, we're the ones who still play because we're the ones who still get enjoyment out of it. But no matter where we were at in our storylines or levels, we could always talk to each other, and that's what mattered to us.

The biggest problem right now is a ls. Every ls we've ever been on has had something horrible happen to it, lol. We're like a pair of black cats walking underneath a ladder and smashing mirrors as we go in terms of luck for linkshells.

The first one we got on, we disagreed with some of the sack decisions and decided to leave. Four people left, me, my husband, and two of my girl friends. Then we find out that after we left there was some sort of weird mass exodus and only a few people remained of the huge ls. Since we never asked anyone else to leave with us and never encouraged leaving, I can only guess that other people were mad at the same decisions we had been mad at and it just didn't occur to them that they could leave until they saw someone else leave first.

The second one we were on, the two leaders got in a raging fight (which was really sad, they had been best buds) and the ls broke. I think the biggest mistake was having their fights in front of everyone instead of sorting it out in private.

The third one we were on, the leader got into some drama she couldn't handle and decided to server hop.

The last one we were on, we were hanging out with some friends we had made in the first one, helping them get emps and such. We were accused of double-dipping and banned from the ls. (It was a group of four pals. It wasn't a ls. We weren't spending points with them. We weren't going after the same things with them that we went after in the ls. It was quite different from the ls definition of 'double-dipping.' When we pointed that out, they changed the rules to make low-manning with anyone but ls members against the rules. xD) Later they unbanned us and we got back on, and a few months later the ls died completely. They just stopped doing events one day, decided to become a social overnight with no warning.

Yep. It's true. We are like black cats walking underneath a ladder smashing mirrors as we go for ls luck. I'd like a new one for Voidwatch, but I'm sort of terrified to get on a new one, because it's like a death sentence for shells for them to accept us. "Hi nice to meet you welcome to LS death row! ^^" ;; We don't even try to be bad.

Yeah...Definitely.

I think the worst was when she was gloating about being on eight hours straight. Our reaction was, "Sooo...Where exactly does time with your baby fall into this scenario?" IDK. She was trolling for a baby-daddy. The RL buddy who failed out of college had a series of explicit /tells that the rest of us got a chuckle out of.

It's sad. Every LS has some eruption, but it's nice when people can work it out. Some people can't, even if it's all just IG BS. Weird.

I've always avoided the hard core stuff myself, untill a year and a half ago my work scedual changed everyweek so it was pritty much impossible for me to commit to an end game shell in XI. Then because started working nights if I wanted an endgame shell I'd have needed to learn japanese. The LS I was we would just do things as we are able, pritty much played around with everything on weekends (dynamis limbus assaults and tried some salvage) then when abyssea happened it was just kinda log in, see people in what ever zone and head out to farm whatever it was. Max party size in XIV is 7 I think (or 9?) so I don't think there is anything actually hardcore in the game. Iro might be able to tell you more about how it is if he comes along since I havn't bothered making friends the last week and a bit what with jumping servers and all XD

Hunger Games was so good! they made minor changes from the book but they were for the better in my opinion. Like they flipflopped a conversation between Gale and Katniss which was so much better because of Gales future "usefullness"

In your personal opinion, would someone who's never read the books enjoy the movie, or know what's going on in the movie? I want to see it, but I've never read the books. Oops!

Iro might be able to tell you more about how it is if he comes along since I havn't bothered making friends the last week and a bit what with jumping servers and all XD
I wanted to play more WKC II with you...

Hunger Games was so good! they made minor changes from the book but they were for the better in my opinion. Like they flipflopped a conversation between Gale and Katniss which was so much better because of Gales future "usefullness"

cant wait for the second book. So excite.

In your personal opinion, would someone who's never read the books enjoy the movie, or know what's going on in the movie? I want to see it, but I've never read the books. Oops!

It translated better on screen than it did in the book! like I had lots of complaints about the writing style while I was reading it..I wasn't buying alot of the plot twists and I felt the characters were in and out of character alot. But it practically the exact same thing and even the environment followed what I imagined in my head.

so to me it was a better movie! yes you can follow, you could even pick up the second book and know exactly whats going on. The movie was missing a few characters but they werent freakishly important. I often felt the author invented too many characters when she could have merged them together..but thats pretty much in the next 2 books. And like I said there were some minor changes..like at the beginning of the movie Gale and Katniss are talking and Gale tells Katniss "we could run away and live in the woods" but those lines were actually things that Katniss told Gale. But I think it bettered Gales character for him to say such a thing for whats about to happen.

My siblings went with me and they really really liked the movie. The only question I got was "how did they make 2 other books then?" which was my question when I got done reading the first book..so you'll have to read the second to know whats going to happen! and its brutal.

Catching fire was my favorite of the three. The third book was stupid. :|

I got distracted away by something sorry : ( I went back some but then got board again fast... I think the problem is that since you could play the online quests offline with your story party not as many people were playing online. Idk I just remember never having a problem finding people to team with in the first game and then I think there were only 2 occations when I ended playing with others in the second one aside from when we played.

This was my take on it! I haven't read the books but know the basics of what's going on. Battle Royale seems more intense though. :3
