My headset does a pretty good job at blocking out ... everything within hearing distance. The mic usually doesn't pick up ambiance either unless it's right next to the source.

i guess i'll believe you for now I leave my mic on push to talk. I really don't think my guild wants to hear me singing banana phone or some other random songs while we wait for raid time to start.
