ARGH
WILDE.
I was trying to remember the Importance of Being Earnest the other day and NOW I remember it!
/table flip

Edit: I mainly said that cause Oedipus isn't popular in the states until college so I'm not sure how many people here knew it, but I figured you were required to read it.

Edit: I'm rather confident Seha would have read Oedipus and most Shakespearean tragedies in HS and she is sitting there going "WHY are they talking about these depressing things!?"
Actually Shakespeare has always been my favourite author, along with Wilde, Woolf and Rossetti.
But Will first, I've read many of his works even though they weren't required for the school just cause I wanted to.

How the hell can you read Shakespeare when English is your second language!? I can't go more than two sentences without thinking.. "wait what?" and having to backread his ridiculous sentences.

Some people enjoy the way he wrote.
Oh Shakespearean word play.

Edit: I suppose wrote makes more sense >_>
He isn't Tupac, he isn't releasing any new work from the grave.

All this literature talk is gonna make me eat up all my [+]s.

Also, yeah. Didn't Shakespeare's vocabulary have like double the capacity as an average person's?

Give or take, but in the past people tended to have much more elaborate vocabularies.
Look at letters from like a common soldier in the Civil War.
Those things are borderline poetry.

Well I have to search on the dictionary a couple of times but I didn't have a problem reading them. There was another one that gave me great pain instead, can't recall if it was Marlowe maybe.

Idk what was worse having to endure reading it, or analyzing it.
So much symbolism you had to analyze every single paragraph. UGHHHH. You could conduct an entire class about literature and NEVER finish discussing that 1 tiny *** book.
